WR Chris Godwin, TB (2 Viewers)

I know it sounds silly, but it's usually prime time games that are most crooked (large viewing audience, largest pot). Tonight for instance, 72% of the public is on Broncos -6 and Broncos ML is likely the last leg to many parlays that survived from yesterday. It's definitely in the interest of Vegas for the Seahawks to lose by 6 or less and if they were to somehow win outright, that would be the best case scenario for them.

The two LARGEST spreads this weekend were Bengals -7 and Colts -7. Neither team WON let alone covered the spread.

What do you know? Vegas wins again.

Thanks. It’s now clear to see that the Broncos were shaving points by going for it on 4th down twice and purposefully fumbling it with two different running backs, then purposefully missing a 64 yard field goal.

Chris Godwin (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.

Reports put Godwin out two to three weeks after he hurt his hamstring in Week 1 against the Cowboys. The good news: Godwin avoided reinjuring the ACL he tore late in the 2021 season. The Bucs will feature a three-receiver set of Mike Evans, Julio Jones, and Russell Gage until Godwin can suit up again. Gage will likely be Tom Brady's primary slot guy with Godwin sidelined. He should suffice as a WR3 with something of a PPR floor this week against the Saints.

What's the news on Godwin? Is he worth holding right now? Limited bench space, so it's him or dropping Curtis Samuel.

Is Samuel just going to sit on your bench? If so I would rather stash Godwin.

The point being if you have other guys starting then the bench space at this point is better served with Godwin and his upside down the road.

ETA: I would also guess you could drop someone besides Samuel that has less value than him.

This. If Godwin returns to close to 100%, he could be a league winner. Brady will pepper him with 10+ targets weekly. Again, that’s assuming he gets back to pre-injury form. No Gronk, no Brown, I feel Evans and Godwin will both get fed.

Godwin and Hopkins are 2 guys I think could end up deciding leagues this year, as long as you didn't get too far down starting slowly.

My Godwin team is 0-3 and not looking too hot this week.

I'm 2-1 w Godwin on the bench. Have Kupp, Cooper and Olave so he's a luxury right now when he comes back.

I have 3 open spots on my bench. One is Burrow - took a risk and drafted him as a 2nd QB after he fell to the 7th round. Not sure how/why that happened. Next is Hopkins who is suspended and I can't put anywhere else. Last is a 4th RB I grabbed in case of injuries. So It's going to be Samuel or Jacobs. Both get looks/targets. It's not a PPR lg, so that doesn't sway anything. It's literally a toss up. Every time Godwin comes off of IR, I need to make a move to put him on the bench. I don't want to get rid of him, but his injuries (along with many others combined) have put me in a hole to start the season. To me it's a toss up between these two. FTR I'm a first year Godwin owner, so I get the upside - but having 5 of 7 starters with injuries the first 3 weeks has me jumpy. If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.

Is this a 1 QB league? Are there waiver wire QB's available? Who is your QB1? I would likely drop Burrow depending on your QB1.

Start 3 WR's while I am carrying 5 that includes both Godwin and Hopkins.
WR#1 Kupp, #2 Higgins, #3 C Samuel

Rooting for solid returns of Godwin and Hopkins soon...

Considering how to roster D Watson too. My QB's are suspect.

It is, but it's already come in handy. I've been able to play matchups, which has helped keep my point totals up. The schedule mix between my two QBs is actually a good match. When one has a difficult matchup, the other has the favorable matchup. My team is weak enough as it is. If I drop Burrow, it'll make my team weaker while giving an opponent a solid QB for bench fodder. I'd rather drum up a trade, but that doesn't help me right now. My league has a week long trade review. I need to make a move this weekend.

ETA - not trying to hijack and make this about my team. just looking to see if Godwin is truly still injured and will be put back on IR on Friday/Saturday, or if I could actually count on him - weighing out my options in case he is healed.

on my bench with kenan allen. look out playoffs.

FantasyPros) Chris Godwin hauled in seven passes for 59 yards during Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Analysis: Godwin had an injury scare during the second half of the game Sunday, but he was able to play through it and put up a nice fantasy outing. He didn't break off any big plays, but he was a consistent and reliable target for Tom Brady. He looks to be fully healthy moving forward, and he will hold value as a solid WR2 option in fantasy leagues.

I still have better options. Played him this week and got 12 but I left pierce and Dobbins on the bench for him in the flex.

You’ve got some really good options if you’re not starting a healthy Chris Godwin
Kupp, Amari and Olave. I could maybe move him in for Amari but he's been pretty good aside from this week. Put him in at the flex this week but sat Dobbins and Pierce for him.

I try to draft my team so I'm not starting an RB at FLEX, but yeah with Dobbins and Pierce as FLEX options, those seem like no-brainers.

I do as well. Especially in PPR. Just happened to work out I got 4 good RBs this year (Henry and Chubb are my starters). Very rare. Hope they stay healthy.

Chris Godwin caught 6-of-12 targets for 95 yards in the Bucs' Week 6 loss to the Steelers.

Facing an injury-depleted Steelers secondary, Godwin posted season highs in targets and yards, but fantasy players will probably zero in on the missed connections. That official target count does not include a missed two-point conversion in the fourth quarter. Frustrating, but the takeaway is that Godwin is up to 19 grabs on 28 looks since returning from injury three weeks ago. He is settling back in as an every-week WR2 and has a plus Week 7 matchup in the Panthers.

Chris Godwin caught 7-of-13 targets for 43 yards in Tampa's Week 7 loss to Carolina.

Godwin managed just 5.8 targeted air yards per attempt as he was frequently asked to make something of screen passes. His one long downfield pass, a third-and-2 bomb on the left sideline, was just a bit too far for Godwin to reel in as he got his hands on it but couldn't get under it. Godwin will continue to be a high-volume target next week against the Ravens on TNF, but the direction of the Tampa offense is concerning and it might be worth thinking of him as more of a WR3 than a WR2 until they find the correct page.

Chris Godwin caught 6-of-11 targets for 75 yards in the Bucs' Week 8 loss to the Ravens.

This has become Godwin's standard line as the Bucs mostly limit him to screens and short-area targets. He has still yet to score a touchdown in 2022. Godwin's floor has remained high enough to instill hope for eventual ceiling days, but they are difficult to envision right now in this struggling offense. The Rams are not a great Week 9 matchup.

Chris Godwin said he's "taking steps" in his ongoing recovery from an ACL injury.

Godwin on Friday described his recovery as a "continual process." It's confirmation that Godwin is not at 100 percent as he struggles to reassert himself as Tom Brady's dominant slot receiver. Godwin is second in expected wide receiver fantasy points since Week 4, but 16th in actual wideout fantasy points. Hopefully he continues to progress and turns his targets into more yardage and touchdowns in the season's second half. He has a great matchup in Week 10 against the Seahawks.

I’m honestly shocked he’s out there doing as good as he’s doing. Testament to medical science and Godwin the man.

He’s a target machine, but in my eyes, been a bust in standard league.
When he went out last year I wasn’t expecting him back until later in the season.

In the off season I signed him to a huge extended contract in my dynasty league, even with the injury. Talent won out.

Chris Godwin caught 6-of-8 targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs' Week 10 win over the Seahawks.

Godwin caught his first touchdown of the year on a four-yard strike from Tom Brady. He also led the Bucs in targets, earning a 27 percent target share. Brady has consistently been one of Brady's top options alongside Mike Evans but hadn't had a strong fantasy performance yet. The role finally paid off with 19.1 PPR points, Godwin's best total this season. He will be back in the WR2 ranks after Tampa Bay's Week 11 bye.

Chris Godwin caught 8-of-13 targets for 63 yards in the Buccaneers' Week 13 win over the Saints.

Godwin appeared to catch the game-winning touchdown with 19 seconds remaining on the clock before the play was eventually called back for an offensive holding penalty from the most penalized player in the league this season, Donovan Smith. He would then catch an out route down the right sideline and force the defender to miss before failing to stay inbounds, which likely would have resulted in a touchdown as well. Regardless, Godwin maintains his WR1 status moving forward as the clear top option for an offense leading the league in pass attempts per game.
