			classic week 1 over-reactions.
Dude had a tough matchup against an all-pro corner last week.
I'll at least give him another game or two before throwing in the towel.

I agree on being somewhat patient, but I don't feel the negativity is an overreaction or to week one.
An all pro corner is not an excuse. 4 catches 40 yards? key touchdown? Some key first downs? Being shutdown is unacceptable regardless of the corner. Lowering expectations is understandable though.
He's drafted to be a #1 and been given every change to become one. His issues he entered with have not been improving (discussed tons in this thread) in games. The practice reports (and videos) show him improving and fixing his game, but when he gets in there, he reverts to bad habits.
One of his is his insistence on playing pattycake with defenders. NFL DBs always press rookie WRs because it's used sparingly in college (among other reasons) and it is a prerequisite to the job of being a #1 WR. There are techniques that are easy to learn if the WR didn't learn them in college or high school and this is considered somewhat elementary.  The Titans have had a ton of young WRs, including rookies, in camp recently and Davis is the only one that struggles with this.
His cuts are nice N sharp now and he's getting some nice hips too but those practice videos do not translate. We can go on and on with him. He looks so much better in the videos but every year he has the same issues on the field.
AJ Brown had everyone curious how he would handle NFL press coverage and umm that was probably the best anyone ever has. He slapped the CB once, pushed him back another and quickly looked like "don't mess with me." During a couple catches, he showed a mean stiff arm and...NFL CBs are going to think twice about pressing him now. The rub here is such a bitter pill to swallow because he learned those techniques from Corey this spring. Google for articles and videos. It's just OUCH when you recognize that.
Arthur Smith did a fantastic job for Corey. One game in and I am so thankful for a new offensive coordinator. Anyway, if you look at Corey's routes, he was given a nice variety and were what he did best last year.
We're at the same point we were with Hunter and Britt. He has the tools. He has received the coaching. He clearly knows what to do. He clearly has developed. Can he show the world though and get it done in a game? then can he get it done consistently? We all love the sparks he's shown over the years but he's gotta put it together
