WR Deebo Samuel, WAS (1 Viewer)

Deebo Samuel had twice as many targets (10) as any other player on Washington in Week 1. He finished the day with a 34.5% target share versus Terry McLaurin's 13.8%. McLaurin had a share that low just once last year.

McLaurin and Samuel both played similar snap counts week1.
I am curious if McLaurin target share was due to him missing preseason.

Interested in seeing how the target share shapes out when McLaurin is fully ramped up. His snap count usage was high, yet only 4 targets, suggesting a conditioning game for him in week1.

Daniels will find the open guy. Deebo seems like a steal from where we all prob drafted him

I'd be more worried about Deebo's usage and this flipping if Mclaurin wasn't playing the high snap count. Because then, I would expect McLaurin's snap count to increase and naturally his targets would go up with him being on the field more.

Time will tell if this was a one game anomaly or the start of a trend. However, them both having high snap counts and the targets favoring Deebo is certainly encouraging.

I admittingly wasn't too high on Deebo going into this season mainly because I wondered if he still had "it", but after week 1, I am optimistic he is going to have a large role in this offense and fits with McLaurin nicely. McLaurin is going to stretch the field and take those deep shots while Deebo works the short and intermediate routes. Plus Daniels keeping the defenders honest with his rushing ability will open things up more. The only person on this offense that makes me nervous taking some of Deebo's usage away is Ertz. If Ertz missed time, I think it is Deebo to the moon time.

FBG has him WR8 in PPR this week substantially higher than everywhere else. I’m deciding between

Deebo
Jamo Williams
Pearsall

I’m playing Adams as my WR2

If Brock were playing I'd say Persall but with Mac Jones I'm not nearly as confident. Deebo is gonna get his touches, I'd say he has the highest floor of the 3 IMO.

If you need upside Jamo. If you need floor, Deebo. Deebo still has upside but Jamo is more likely for both the dud and the game winning week. I think Deebo is more guaranteed touches though.

I’m in a semi-similar situation:
Need 2 of
Deebo
Jamo
Jakobi meyers
Boutte

I have Deebo and Jamo currently in my lineup. I love Jakobi too, but benching jamo always feel like a mistake.

For you to benefit from Jamo, you need to live with the good and the bad. If you chase points, you will wind up benching him for the good weeks and and playing him on the bad weeks. If you can’t live with the down weeks in favor of the huge upside, you should try to trade him after his next big game.

Having said all that, Deebo is a really close call between him.

The over-correction to W1 is a real thing.
Say this with more words please.

… WR1 in fantasy? Or on the commanders?

If healthy, I do believe he’s the fantasy WR1 on that team. Deebo.
W1= Week 1. Everyone anointed Deebo as back because he had a good game last week vs a bad team where he averaged 11 ypc because of a 21 yarder. I think this is more of what you’ll get this year. 3 yard passes and if Terry doesn’t get open nobody else will. Noah Brown, Ekeler and Ertz sharing targets with Deebo which is gross. Daniels no time to throw so you’d think Deebo would see more targets but instead he’s throwing to Jaylin Lane on 4th down plays.

I got sucked in to seeing WR8 this week when everyplace had him WR25-35, Def my first point to shirt moment of the season. They’ll be plenty more haha.

If Ekeler is out for the season potentially will Deebo absurd some backfield carries? Or lineup in the backfield for dump offs or does Bill become the bell cow?

This guy is being WAY undervalued. I'd urge everyone here to pay attention to Commander's camp. With Terry sitting out waiting on a contract, Deebo is being integrated. Honestly, he'll do best with Terry there, but they're gonna have set plays for this guy and he's gonna be on the field as the #2 option all the time and he's gonna get set runs too I'd wager.

I think he has a WR2 (13-24 rank) this season easily. Can be drafted very very very late right now.
Real proud of this call. I miss so often, it's nice to be very right occasionally.

I traded a #2 last year for him and just sold him for a 1st round pick next year. I like Deebo a lot too.

I'm going to gamble and start Deebo even though my only other option was Mooney who is now out. He played through the heel last week and the rest of the WR room seems to be out.

I have Deebo in my lineup, and if I wait until Monday, my only other option will be Ray Davis. I am considering picking up Luke McCaffrey as a reserve in case Deebo cannot go.

I have Deebo in a flex. I could put in Keenan Allen or wait until tomorrow and swap in Swift if Deebo is inactive. Thoughts?
