I was assuming it's PPR.I think Pop only has value in PPR
I think he'll be their starting slot and will end up as a top two reception guy on the team.
Last year's scheme really did not suit him at all.

#Patriots HC Mike Vrabel on WR DeMario Douglas:
"I love the person. I love his attitude. I love his spirit. He loves to practice. He loves to play this game; he loves football....He's gotten better....He's picked up everything that we've asked him to do."

DeMario Douglas: “I love this offense, I can’t lie.”
Says he’s seen other slot receivers thrive in Josh McDaniels’ system and that he can see why on the field. Also notes that the post-snap adjustments aren’t too difficult once you get in the playbook

“There was some scuttlebutt about where WR DeMario Douglas fits into the McDaniels offense, but if the spring is any indication, Pop is in for a featured role. Douglas looked at home working the slot routes in a scheme that has produced high-volume slot receivers such as Jakobi Meyers, Julian Edelman, and Wes Welker, to name a few. Douglas's quickness inside to feast on matchups and out-leveraged defenders was evident. He was Maye's favorite receiver in the final two practices, while the Maye-to-Douglas connection also had shades of the Pats QB working with current Colts WR Josh Downs at North Carolina.”
As a guy holding Douglas deep on my dynasty bench, I love hearing these things. But for some reason I just have a hard time believing it. 800 yards would seem like a fantastic season for him.@32BeatWriters

Later round target for me in PPR leagues. Excellent bye week/injury fill in. If he ends up thriving in this offense then all the better. He’s free and could be (probably will be) a decent injury or bye week filler. A consistent top 30 fantasy football player he is not. The only cost is a roster spot so if you’re rebuilding he’s pointless to roster because nobody is trading him for a third. But if you’re contending you could do a lot worse.

“DeMario Douglas has been the Patriots’ best pass-catcher, and it isn’t close,” per @tkyles39
“He looks more comfortable than ever under Josh McDaniels, consistently getting open, catching everything thrown his way, and quickly becoming Drake Maye’s top target.”

Hmmmmmmmmm
He’s on someone’s practice squad in a 16 team contract league I’m in. I can poach him for almost nothing. Have a strong WR crew but could use a depth piece.
Interesting
McDaniels does have a way with these slot guys. You never know.Hmmmmmmmmm

I am not a big Pop guy but the reports on him have been all very good this offseason...definitely worth a roll of the dice.

I just looked at their physical stats, JE 5-10 198, Douglas 5-8 192. On the surface they look pretty similar, but all bodies aren't put together the same. Edelman showed he could take a hell of a beating. Douglas, in his limited time, has not.McDaniels does have a way with these slot guys. You never know.Hmmmmmmmmm

Agreed...my issue/fear with Pop is he won't be able to handle the punishment the McDaniel's slot usually gets...not sure he can be used in the same manner.

You may be right but I also feel defensive players over the middle have gotten smaller it’s one of the reasons why I think sub 200 pound RBs may get more run in the near future if linebackers are closer to 230 than 260.I just looked at their physical stats, JE 5-10 198, Douglas 5-8 192. Agreed...Edelman and especially Welker took some hellacious beatings and kept getting up...I just don't think Pop's body can handle something similar on a week-to-week basis.

Pop Douglas snatches this touchdown from Drake Maye over Marcellas Dial.
Pop continues to impress during camp.
