WR DeSean Jackson (1 Viewer)

So will his production go up or down because of his move?
I have no idea. A large, large part of that will depend on the Redskins offensive line (which was terrible at pass blocking last year) and on how well Gruden, McVey, Griffin, and the receivers work together.
A side stat I heard on the radio this morning: in the Dan Snyder era the Redskins have signed FA's with 20 total pro bowls but none has had a pro bowl season with the Redskins.
You're a pissed off hater is all

No, I just belong to a different gang. :gang2:

@Jeff_McLane: The DeSean Jackson conference call will start 15 mins late. Insert your own joke here.

@EliotShorrParks: DeSean Jackson will only be taking questions from local Washington media, not from other news outlets. #Eagles #Redskins

I bet Griffin continues to favor Garcon; but, again, Garcon, Jax, Reed, Roberts, Morris looks great.
the O is gonna be crazy to watch. good god.
Their O-line still needs work. Griffin needs all the practice time he can get. Reed has to keep from getting concussions. They're not a juggernaut offense, just noticeably better than they were. They still have a ways to go.

Stay medium.
jim, is that you? you still a skins fan after danny kicked you outta ashburn?

The Eagles should probably cut him over something as thoroughly-documented as that. Guys like Jackson are a dime a dozen in this years draft.
Great job by his agent getting guaranteed money quick from the off season CHAMPS.
You got one part right, the Redskins are a 3 time SB CHAMPS, How many do the Eagles have, I forgot.

I'll help you there...ZERO, ZILCH, or NADA, I could go on, but I'm sure everyone understand one of those three.

I've never argued that 25 years ago they were a good franchise. Since that a complete dumpster fire but it's always fun to watch you clowns in the offseason when Danny sets his fantasy roster. This is your time of year.....Enjoy.

Man, I'd love to disagree with you...unfortunately I cannot. It has been tuff sled'n for us for a long time now and yes, in the past the off-season has been one of the only highlights for my team. Although, maybe cap penalty helped or change of Bruce Allen at the helm, Redskins have not been the team that throws ton-o-money at Free Agents, as they had when Vinny "The Idiot" Cerano was with the organization. DeSean Jackson contract is a prime example of how the new front office works, as the deal is friendly to both the player and the team. The player surely could have made more and the old regime would have just gone out and paid him $10 mill a year, easy no questions asked. Of course old regime had to chase FAs all the time too because they devalued the draft and traded picks like they were playing hot potato.

As clearly made by your last post, everyone still has the impression that Redskins are major FA players and they are mentioned to be interested in many top FAs every year, but that is more agents drumming up the supposed price for their guys. Regardless, it is the Redskins job to change that perception and until then...they will have to live the tag that everyone places on them.

I think you are probably right it has gotten better but I must give in, you have won the offseason again.

I loved the comment that it had not been determined who will wear #10

yes it has, it had before you signed, RG3 is #10, he is the franchise and rightly so

(I'll assume his comment was in jest, if not jackson is a tad delusional)

No Maclin and Cooper??? Outrage.
You might double your win total this year!
LOLz. Only 1 team in there from the final 4 teams last year.
Half of the teams there made the playoffs and another one missed the playoffs going 10-6.
Only half....so thats good?

I don't know if that's good or bad necessarily. Less than half the teams make the playoffs in the NFL so I'd imagine it's OK, but not good and certainly not bad. The use of final 4 and only one team was a pretty desperate attempt to mitigate. I really just posted it to show that.

Sorry I used facts vs. someone else's opinion. But the fact is, they all got beat by teams with worse WR's, right?

Okay. So does your fact mean? Everyone knows you wanted it to be open ended, and you got what you were looking for. So now you can tell us what you think it means.

I think the point is, to win a championship, a team has to be dominate in portion or factor of the game (ex: defense, passing game, rushing, etc.) The better aligned you are to having one of them and at least above average in another aspect, you become a serious threat.

Basically it does not matter and going "All-in" on offense will only take you so far. And that the window of actually having "One of the best WR tandems" in the NFL is short lived, as salary will usually break them up. If they actually are "that good" in the first place.

As I have told both of my boyz while they were growing up: You don't have to be a Redskins fan, you can choose from any of the 31 teams in the NFL. When I say this, someone always points out that there are actually 32. My reply is "I know, but the Cowboys are not an option."

Yeah, I agree with that. There are a hundred different ways of making a good team. A cheap QB and smart contracts for any position are what seems to be most important. The Redskins and Eagles both have cheap QBs right now, which gives them some advantage.

As someone from the outside of the NFCE, I appreciate the level of hatred all of you have for the opposing teams/fans. That's great stuff. And it's great that you can maintain this hatred and not stab/shoot opposing fans. (that hasn't happened, right?)

As a redskin fan, you're instructed at a very early age to hate the cowboys above all others. But once I had season tickets and you're exposed your rivals fan base...I gotta put the eagles at the top of the hate list. You've never seen such low brow, smelly, filthy, nasty knuckle draggers than ones who take the bus straight from NJ/Philly. Ugh...just the dregs of society. :yucky:

well as a cowboys fans i hate washtingon fans and philly fans

which i hate more depends on which team is better, i usually hate that team more

in this case i wish Desean had landed somewhere outside our division

Honesty, I love it!

My first thoughts when DeSean was released was, at least we don't have to see him twice a year anymore. So I can sympathize with you on the " i wish Desean had landed somewhere outside our division" statement.

With the safeties you have and the overrated CB's, I don't blame you.

Nah, that is a west coast thing. ;) There are just a lot of guys that look like this :topcat: leaving the stadiums in the NFC East.

It can be kind of fleeting. When you look at that list, I see only 6 or maybe 7 pairs who you could call a WR1-WR2 combination last year for the team they're listed under.

Bears

Falcons

Packers

Texans (was Hopkins a clear WR2 there? I didn't follow them much)

Cardinals

Colts

Bengals (was Jones a clear WR2 there last year?)

From what I gather Eagles' fans and Skins' fans don't like eachother very much.
I generally like NFC East fans (except the week the Skins face their team) because they're mainly good people and seeing common opponents gives us a lot to talk about. There's just a Jackson flap going on right now where there's a difference of opinion over whether he's a savior or a satan. Neither of which he is, of course. And neither side knows how it'll work out.

It'll die down.

How is the Eagles' airtight secondary looking this year?
Haha...Our D is gonna be brutal again. Hope the O can keep up.

Off-topic but I disagree. They finished with a low NFL rank but they improved greatly as the season went on. Remember they were transitioning from a 4-3 to a 3-4 and didn't have the players in place. They got better as the players adjusted to the new scheme. I think they'll be a mid-tier defense in '14.

Every defense in the NFL East was brutal last year. In past years NFC East teams used to have some really tough defenses, and you'd often see division games where a 4-9 team beat a 9-4 team 13-11 in snow. Now what you see is NFC East defensive backs chasing opponents to end zones.
