WR DeVante Parker, Retired (2 Viewers)

Good matchups week 12, 14, & 16. His floor prior to today in full PPR to today was 12.60. I’ll might be using him again at some point as my Flex. For reference point, my other WRs are Allen, Cooks, Funchess, Smith-Schuster, & Woods.  He’s probably my WR6 at this point and my 8th most important player in weeks I do start him (my other RB2/Flex are Martin/Mixon so he’s not even close to being my most frustrating draft pick.) Not like my season is riding on him, I have other studs that carry the team.

Congrats.

I was delusional to think this guy would come around. Now have to start Coleman in his place and stick with freaking Corey Davis. Uggggh

Think I may have made the wrong stash.. Chose Dede over him. Hopefully I can still get him.
I picked up Coleman a couple weeks ago when he started practicing again. Had no clue if he would turn out or not. Sure hope he does. Thought for sure Parker and Davis down the stretch would be good. Nope

I was at the game, and was also starting Cutler and Parker. If you had told me that the Dolphins QB was going to throw for 280 yards and a TD in the second half, and two of their WRs were each going to get 100 yds and a TD, I would have liked my odds. FML.

As for Parker, not really sure what happened. Given his floor so far this year, I'm not giving up on him yet, but I'm also not sure I feel great starting him. Have a choice next week between a solid WR with a terrible matchup (Fitz) or a frustrating one with a great matchup (Parker)

To be fair, he wasn't targeting Parker much in the first half
I see.

Definitely Parkers worst game so far this year aside from the one where he was injured.

He did have 9 targets, but based on what you are saying most of those may have been in the 2nd half.

Hard to get opportunities when the offense is turning over the ball.

He got a few from Cutler. In fact, two of the INTs were on throws to him (one of which was completely Parker's fault; went right through his hands.)

What was weirdest was that they were barely targeting him downfield at all. A bunch of quick screens, none of which went anywhere (and a couple that were called back due to penalties). Meanwhile, Landry did get a few deep shots. Maybe they pulled a Freaky Friday?

Thanks for the info.

Sounds bad if one of the interceptions was Parkers fault and bad that two of them were with the QB targeting him.

I see from the game book Parker was targeted 3 times in the first half, zero receptions.

So his other 6 targets were in the 2nd half of the game.

I'm hanging in there. He's my WR4 and yes yesterday sucked all kinds of ### but prior to this week he was locked in for 12 points in PPR every week. Bad games happen to elite players so someone like Parker is gonna have his share too. I agree he's been a disappointment based on preseason hype and expectations but one bad game out of six isn't enough to get me to bail yet. If he can get back to his 12-point floor in PPR I'll take that as my WR4. Would like more and believe he's capable of more but I'll take it.

I was watching the RZ channel yesterday and didn't see the whole game, but Cutlers first INT (I think it was the first one) was thrown to Parker in the front of the end zone, but Parker and the DB tangled legs and Parker fell/  It looked to be a sure TD had he not fallen down, so that one play would have rescued his bad day.

Moore targeted him in the EZ in the second half. Didn't make a good throw. Sailed it a bit too high. Parker had some coverage but might've had a shot to score with a better throw.

Saw that play live and the ball looked well behind Parker even if he didn't fall down. Too bad because he was open.

Tannehill is obviously an upgrade, but I place a lot of the blame this year on Parker. Something is missing with this kid. He has all the talent in the world
The high ankle sprain ####ed him and I think that's really it, just look at the timeline. He injured it in week 2, went into week 3 questionable, wasn't on the injury report in week 4 but "re-aggravated" early in week 5 and subsequently missed the next 3 weeks. That tells me it was bothering him from the jump and I don't think it ever truly got "right" despite him not appearing on the injury report in week 4. Then recently the OC came out and said this, "He doesn't have the edge that he had coming out of training camp," were Christensen's exact words. "But I do think that sometimes with those guys who are speed guys and outside guys you get a nagging thing and you just don't feel 100 percent. I'd say that that is the reason."

I think it's that simple. The dude has trouble playing at a high level through injury.

Not to mention that when you take out the 1 for 6 game he re injured himself and barely played, he is on a very good pace regarding receptions and yards... 88 rec for 1063, only fluky td numbers were really a problem. Obviously this was extrapolating the per game numbers.

Have no fear, shortly someone will come here and tell us how his stats aren' really that bad and he actually has been a value.

You bring up a good point.  I have heard by many critics that Parker doesn't play well through any sort of injury.  I thought this year was going to be different based on his "my ball" showing in pre season games.  Now I see what the critics are saying.

What are we doing with Parker?  I need to clear a bench spot to stash playoff Defs.  Is there any hope?

As I was going through my roster to set a lineup, I realized that Parker is my WR7.  He's definitely droppable at this point. He's catching on 5 yard swing pass a game.

Benched him until I see something. Not dropping at this point because no real need to (even if I needed a spot, he's probably behind Corey Davis on my "first fired" list). But I wouldn't have a problem sending him to the wire. Odds he comes back and makes you pay on another team's roster are pretty slim.

Given that Cooper is likely going to be out this week given that nasty hit he took, and other fillers on my squad with similar question marks (like Hogan), I may have to rely on this bum again.

Looking at the wire, see similar banged up dudes like Fuller, or equally boom/bust guys like Seth Roberts, Goodwin, Inman, Terrance William, or Deonte Thompson or upside guys with not enough evidence yet they are breaking out like Dede Westbrook.

Sucks, but even with Parker's struggles to play through injury and the team looking more to Landry and Stills, Parker still seems to have a comparatively decent floor compared to these others both this week and ROS -- but hard to ever trust that we'll see him involved like we did the first few weeks of the season.

As I look at his performance, I see 10+ points from him every week, with the only weeks under that (aside from weeks 6-8 when he didn't start) was week 5 vs TEN (where I believe he got dinged) and these past two weeks against TB and NE.

Has a tough matchup in Denver, but their secondary can be thrown on and without Talib, maybe the field opens up a little more. Is it crazy to think he can get back to 5 receptions+ a game like he was seeing if Cutler is back from concussion?

Or am I just on the proverbial fantasy Brokeback Mountain with Parker, not being able to quit him no matter how unreliable this guy has been for my team?

I have no faith and he's riding my bench for DeDe Westbrook right now.  I would also consider starting T. Benjamin over him against CLE (Benjamin's original team).

@Stompin' Tom Connors I think his floor has disappeared given the last couple weeks.

Dropped him in one league for Crowder (small bench league guy dropped him before his break out). Debating dropping him for Dede in another.
