WR DeVante Parker, Retired (1 Viewer)

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said DeVante Parker (finger) is "itching to play."

Beat writer Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald adds that it "really sounds like" Parker will suit up for Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Jets. Parker sat out last week's opener with a broken finger he suffered during training camp but has been practicing on a limited basis since Friday. His return would be a slight downgrade for Kenny Stills, who broke out for 106 yards and two touchdowns in last week's win over Tennessee.

DeVante Parker (finger) is inactive for Week 2 against the Jets.

Parker is essentially a healthy scratch after it was reported late in the week he would make his 2018 debut. Instead, the Fins are sticking with Kenny Stills, Danny Amendola, Albert Wilson, and Jakeem Grant as their top-four receivers. The Dolphins should soon begin listening to trade offers for Parker.

Speaking Thursday, Dolphins coach Adam Gase was noncommittal on DeVante Parker's (finger) Week 3 status.

The Dolphins are starting to seem over their perpetually-disappointing fourth-year wideout. Parker can't stay on the field and when he does play he rarely makes the big plays he's supposed to be known for. Whenever Parker finally makes his 2018 debut, he will be a low-end WR4.

DeVante Parker (finger) is practicing on Thursday.

According to the Palm Beach Post's Joe Schad, Parker looks more comfortable catching the ball this week. Perhaps that means he will be active, but it is difficult to believe he will have a large target share in a crowded receiver room. Parker is not even an exciting bench stash in standard-sized leagues.

DeVante Parker (quad) is questionable for Week 4 against the Patriots.

Parker was limited Friday but should be able to suit up in Miami's divisional showdown against the Pats Sunday. He hauled in two of his three targets for 40 yards in Week 3, a majority of that production coming on a 36-yard gain in the third quarter. Jakeem Grant and Albert Wilson were the odd men out with Parker making his debut, running just 11 total routes against the Raiders. Grant is an intriguing flier and deep-league FLEX if Parker is stunningly declared inactive.

Oh man, you are going to feel great - I was able to cut him before the start of the season. Just a weight off the roster.
I just can't do it yet. Like massraider's sweater analogy I keep him pulling it out of the closet and putting it into the Goodwill pile, only to walk by 15 minutes later and say "You know, I could wear that out chopping wood or on winter hikes..." and back in the closet it goes.

But I'm really getting sick and tired of seeing it just sit there doing nothing, year after year.

In 2016 I traded my picks 6 and 10 for Parker and Ajayi and Michael Thomas went 10th who I clearly would taken there.  Funny how things change with time at the time I was said to have won this trade in a landslide and now it's one of my worst trades in the history of my life even if I had drafted Winnie the Poo with the 6th pick.

I was never going to admit this, but I’ll do it to make you all feel a bit better. I was so convinced of this guy’s talent and was so thrilled that we drafted him, that I bought his jersey before he even played a snap in the NFL. So yeah, he really is like an old sweater to me too.

I always would say, "I can use those for playing football". I'm now in my mid-40's and my wife asks "for football"? as she looks at all of my too small clothes - I guess I should call them my Devante Parkers.

I know that @flapgreen won’t find this news surprising in the least:

DeVante Parker (quad) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Parker has appeared in one game this season, catching a pair of passes for 40 yards against the Raiders. He'll look to be active for the second time this week against the Bengals but won't be anywhere near fantasy lineups.

Next up on the chopping block. No doubt about it.
for you or Gase?

i've had him on my dynasty roster for a couple of years now. I think he's worth holding onto because I can't imagine him there next year. Change of scenery may do him good. If an owner has room to let him sit at the end of a roster then do it. He's a dynasty hold for me.

For Gase. I cut him before the season started. Absolute bum. Will be out of the league shortly after he makes the waiver rounds and when other teams kick the tires and see he is no work ethic and does not take care of his body like professional.....

See ya!!!

DeVante Parker - WR -  Dolphins

The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins expect DeVante Parker (quad) to return in Week 6.

Parker has missed the last two weeks despite practicing on a limited basis. The Dolphins have no reason to push Parker with Jakeem Grant and Albert Wilson playing well, but his quad injury was never overly serious. Unproductive in his only game this year, Parker won't be guaranteed a ton of snaps when he returns.

Two days ago: DeVante Parker expected to play Week 6

"Hey, ok at least we'll see if he shows something..."

One day ago: DeVante Parker (quad) limited on Wednesday

"Wtf? So they are being cautious? But he'll still play right?"

Today: DeVante Parker "not sure" of Week 6 availability

Me

Seriously f this guy.

Held this stiff for most of his career waiting for something.  Sold him week 2 and loved it.....DJ/Parker for Hunt/Cooper.  Wish Cooper could get consistent but at least he plays.

The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins have talked about a DeVante Parker trade with the Eagles.

The Dolphins have reportedly spoken with "multiple" teams, but the Eagles are the first identified by name. Parker is a de facto healthy scratch for Sunday's game with the Lions. The Dolphins appear desperate to move on before next week's trade deadline.

Nice, same boat here, except I just flat out cut him, couldn't get a bag of pucks for this guy and the roster spot was more valuable ...

This could get entertaining with the loss of Stills.  Now they need to keep this guy and they hate each other.

The DeVante Parker reign of dominance begins tonight!

The stars are aligned in this one (except of course for the clown who is going to be tossing ducks at him).  Wison and Stills out, Jakeem and Amendola both more suited for the slot...Parker is really the best outside option that Miami has tonight - which in and of itself is a pathetic statement, but it is the truth.  Cant start him tonight unless you are truly desperate, but a decent and affordable upside play in DFS, and a chance to re-establish some level of value for those of us who have been clinging to him for all of these years waiting for the reign of dominance to begin.

I picked him off the scrap heap hoping that he would get traded. They just promoted Caroo from the practice squad so Gase will probably play him over Parker. All these injuries probably ruined the chance of him being shipped anywhere however.

If they want to trade him, they will need to scrub off some of the filth that it on him right now - that would mean playing him and targetting him a lot tonight.  Dont get me wrong, I am not even close to starting him tonight, but I am interested to see what he does in this game.  A decent game could improve his trade market substantially, in both real and fantasy life.

The problem is.....he is still Devante Parker. A first round massive bust, who runs lazy routes, does not fight for the ball, and leaves the field when he get's a hang nail.

RIP.

Happy that I picked him up hours prior to the game.  He's looks like a giant when in trips next to Amendola and Grant.

100 yards already through the 3rd quarter.

Osweiler also overthrew him very, very badly on what would have been a walk-in TD.

Hopefully he maintains some of this production once Wilson and Stills come back.
