WR Diontae Johnson, Free Agent (4 Viewers)

Man. This guy must have serious mental issues. Common theme for Steelers WRs…..

Antonio Brown
Chase Claypool
Diontae Johnson
George Pickens

Anyone else remember when Mike Tomlin was good at managing and controlling difficult personalities?
Knows when to get rid of them though
I mean, maybe. He’s not the GM.

I think he’s at the point where his pain in the *** status > talent.

He could be done as far as the NFL is concerned.

Diontae said himself no other team showed him any interest other then the Browns who gave him a league minimum non-guaranteed deal.

He met that battle for his career by skipping almost every single voluntary off-season session and arriving at training camp not in great shape.

Juice is not worth the squeeze here.

Believe me, Tomlin is heavily involved in personnel decisions.

Pretty sad. Just last year, weeks 3-6 with Dalton as the QB before he was traded, Diontae was overall WR 6. I guess it is time to give it up but there is no doubt that he can improve many WR rooms if given the chance.

I actually think it highlights how good Tomlin is at managing his players and keeping them under control.

How? They all turn crazy and have to leave town.

Getting rid of lunatics once they've reached an intolerable level of lunacy is certainly a management style.

Keeping players well beneath the level of intolerable lunacy is another, probably superior management style.

Do you mean this as a criticism of Tomlin?

When I read that post i see that they are praising tomlin, because Tomlin is able to keep many star players over the years beneath the level of "intolerable lunacy" while they are steelers, like AB.

He's also involved in grooming these young men into being professionals and that's where I'm not so sure he deserves the credit bestowed on him for getting production out of these WR's and knowing when to move on or if he should be held more accountable for allowing their behavior to go unchecked for so long even he could not control them any longer. I think it's a little bit of both myself.

Yeah. He is a bum and likely sucks in the locker room.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if that's what he was saying when he posted:

Could go either way couldn't it.

We don't know enough of the locker room specifics to judge either way.

Dealing with over pampered, super rich divas on a daily basis doesn't seem like a fun job though.
