WR handcuffs... (1 Viewer)

Given injuries to Colston, Boldin...does anyone ever plan for having a WR handcuff? Or do you just have to wait and see what WR might emerge (as in the case of New Orleans)?

Are there any other WR combos you can thnk of with obvious handcuffs (where a guy might be an ok start as a #3WR, but moves up a bunch when the #1,2 WR is out)?

While it's an interesting idea, I think a WR handcuff isn't as feasible as a RB handcuff simply because there are so many receivers on a team. Take your Colston/Moore example. At the beginning of the season, you would have handcuffed Patten to Colston, but it quickly became obvious that Moore is Brees's favorite new target, so you just wasted a roster spot. It's easier when you have running backs because there is almost always a clear-cut back-up to the starter who will come in should the starter get injured (this isn't ALWAYS the case, of course).

I had Boldin and drafted Beaston late, not for any injury reason, but because there was speculation of Boldin being unhappy in ARZ, and possibly headed out. Now it appears I might use Breaston this week coming up if Boldin is out. Breaston is a decent play IMO, if Boldin is out, better than Galloway, Curtis or Avery.

I handcuffed Breaston in an NFFC satellite league in which I drafted both Fitzgerald and Boldin. Figured it was the perfect time to do so. If one got hurt, Breaston steps in.

This is true, UNLESS there is a clear cut guy who is 3rd WR like Breaston was/is.
