WR Jalen Coker, CAR (1 Viewer)

Young needs his tall WRs.
McMillan, him and TE Sanders should seeist the targets. But don't think Carolina passes much against Jets, who will be lucky to score a TD.

Apparently will be activated for week 7. What do we expect against a decent Jets defense? Will he be full go or eased in?
Sauce Gardner is an excellent CB, and he will most likely shadow Tet. The rest of their CBs are trash. So secondary servers can do well against the Jets.

But the Panthers have to be excited about their ground game, plus the Jets offense is a mess, suggesting the Panthers won't be playing from behind, so the Panthers offense could go conservative.

I was puzzled he wasn't activated last week, after 3 straight full practices. I don't know if that's because he didn't look that great last week, or they were extra cautious, or what. But a typical first week of practice for an IR guy, if it goes LP, LP, FP - then he's usually active that weekend. Going FP, FP, FP, then staying inactive - that is very unusual IMO.

I'm itching to start him, but of all the guys I follow for rankings, not one of them ranks him in their top 50 this week. So there is risk. But if I leave him in the IR spot and he goes off anyway, I will have regrets.
How can you leave him in the IR spot if he's active
Yahoo still lists him as being on IR.
So does sleeper but that will change by game time.
If memory serves, at least on Yahoo, as long as you don't try to make any roster moves and leave said player in the IR spot, it will allow that player to remain even as they play that week. He's in my IR spot and still listed as designated to return from IR (IR-R), and I don't plan to start him or make roster moves, so I will let you know when Yahoo finally "forces" me to move him out of the IR spot.
Only forced if you go to make a transaction with Yahoo, otherwise they can just sit in IR. That is how our league is setup anyway.
System wise that’s true. Our leagues include rules that players must be removed from IR when they play. YMMV

Very little coverage of today's game on RedZone... I see two targets on the stat sheet, no catches. Was he not out there much today?

Just a slog of a game. I missed some action and now Dalton is at QB. Neither team has been impressive on offense. Don't know what his snap count is but Coker has been out there, but like everyone else on this field it's been a let down.

Jets secondary was one of the absolute worst then you get Jermaine Johnson, who is their DL1, and they traded for Brownlee, who is a dynamite and physical slot corner with good coverage skills. Take Sauce Gardner as CB1 traveling and Brownlee and then Stephens, who started terribly at CB2 but somehow turned it around quickly. Coker will have his days.

Snap counts were interesting
Tet McMillan 87%
Legette 80%
Coker 37%
Vrycen Tremayne 23%
Jimmy Horn 21%
Hunter Renfrow 0%

So Coker at least got Renfrow out of any work

I hope Legette hasn't passed him but sometimes you lose your job when you're hurt. Can't make the club in the tub.

Brownlee shut him down.
He's done it to others. He's a heckuva CB I expected to be a household name this year but the Titans had to Titan.
I would consider trading for Coker.
Ya don't know if his FF owner lost hope or has doubt or anything from yesterday.
Worth a try

I am the manager. He's in my IR spot but I have to do something with him. I lost Kendre Miller so I have the free spot. But we have short benches so it's not a slam dunk for me to keep him.

But thanks for the heads-up about the CB.

Heh. I also tried the other day. I’m stunned but not stunned they’re going to give Legette every chance. That’s speed and stature, money, draft capital, and just former (maybe misplaced) belief talking. But they are gonna run that back and hope until it hurts. But then that lateral attempt in the middle of the field on the oppo’s 35?

Wow.

I don’t know what to tell you because I’m not in your league and it’s all context. I lost Miller also. Made for a negative afternoon. Good luck with your decision. Peace.

Also the owner was hot to draft Legette. And he's not a hands off kind of guy.

I can’t even say anything ironically funny about him. He and Woody Johnson from the Jets. Actually I’m going to quote myself but check this out. Owners aren’t just correlated with success. They’re fundamental.

Yep. I'm a Bills fan and we endure Ralph Wilson for years, before the Bills accidentally stumbled into a Super Bowl caliber squad. Then he got huffy at the GM that built that roster (Polian) and fired him.

It's true Ralph is the reason we have the Buffalo Bills at all, so we are all grateful to him for that, but his skills as an owner were sub par. Plus he spent some time as essentially part owner of the Raiders in the early AFL to keep them from going under.

Franchise owners. Can't live with them, can't live without them.

Now I have two free spots after Evans got hurt
. :tfp:

3 for 4 and only 36yds after nothing his 1st week back. We still holding & hoping or cutting for the flavor of the week?
Obviously depends on league. 10 man league I don't think he is rosterable. I'm in a 12 man 3 flex and picked him up briefly, but dropped him for Parker Washington. There is about 20 wrs in that Coker range I'm looking at. Maybe 2 of the 20 will hit. All dart throws really.

I did a speculative add-hold in dynasty in 12x24 through three weeks of injury. Not a realistic expectation, but I was hoping to see him as the clear #2WR pretty much out of the gate. I still think he can get there and I would hold at least a couple more weeks if you can. Borderline in re-draft depending on league size.

In my case, somebody dropped TeSlaaa and I view him as higher talent / upside in a better offense. Somebody immediately scooped Coker for $1.

12-teamer redraft with 15 roster spots (2 more spots for IR eligible)
Picked him up after the draft and he sat in my IR spot until 2 weeks ago. He was then my 15th player on my bench, until last night, when I swapped him for Kyle Monangai. I'm trying to trade him away to a RB needy team right now.
