WR Jauan Jennings, SF (1 Viewer)

Currently rostering both JuJu and Ladd MC..
Which should I drop (or not) to get Jennings? I had him for a minute earlier this year and him plugged in the week he went off.

Well I ended up blowing 44% on Jennings after only being left with 2 WRs. Next highest bid was 21% which stings.

However his metrics look great and has produced when given the opportunity.

Fingers crossed.

Really struggling with what to do about this guy (throw the bulk of my FAAB or just nibble). Lost Evans and Aiyuk so in need but is he the answer? Dude had 1 big week this year and 1 other double digit (11pts) performance but virtually nothing in the other weeks. Is he really the guy or is everyone over reacting to 1 monster week?

I think the #3 WR on any team would be pretty hyped up by most if the #1 is out for the season, the #2 may miss some time, their super star TE is dinged up and it's overall an elite offensive system.

Add in the fact Jennings did have a historic game earlier this season, and seemingly produces whenever a 49er WR in front of him gets hurt, I think it's a worth gamble.

To me Jennings has a few things going for him that most others don't.
-He has great chemistry with Purdy, no matter as a WR3 or not. Purdy really trusts him and doesn't shy away from throwing to him in the big moments.
-Jennings put up good numbers when Deebo was out earlier this year 11 of 12 for 175 + 3 TD's and 3 of 6 for 88 yards.
-How many WR3 have put up the numbers Jennings has through 7 weeks? Smith-Njigba and Tank Dell may have the best cases for potential, but neither imo have lived up to the hype this year. Jennings was always the 5th option on offense behind Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle in the pass game and Mason + Deebo in the run game. Now he is likely the 2nd or 3rd option depending on the timeline for both Deebo and Kittle. Even with them both back Aiyuks targets will get spread around.
-San Fran has a relatively soft schedule fantasy wise for passing ros. Dallas, Seattle, Tampa, LA Rams, Miami, Detroit, Arizona.

Dude's per-play metrics have been very impressive this year. My only big concern with Aiyuk out of the way, is Jennings' hip injury.

@Wingnut is the most realistic and informed Niner fan on the board, and he isn't concerned about it, so that makes me feel better, but I am a paranoid android when it comes to relying on hurt players. Blew most of my remaining FAAB on Jennings last night, so leapt in and now hoping for the best.

Perfect spot where in redraft it seems fine to go large, but in dynasty it's right to sell. Will never say no to turning someone picked up for free into a draft pick a few weeks later

Grabbed Jennings with high (remaining) % FAAB last night. Realized that Cowing was on the FA wire and a decent handcuff play for the lead 49er WR for the next few weeks, at least. Scooped him up with the quickness. Feeling better about Jennings' hip!

Welp. Jennings isn't practicing.

I thought he'd be back today.

Thx for the update...

Thoughts on Cowen if Jennings misses more time?

Not sure, we haven't seen enough of him yet, he's only played 17 snaps so far this season. They have no choice but to play him now so he will get some targets but it's anyone's guess how many.

Doing my best to grab him everywhere I can before the trade deadline. Only problem, in one league the Jennings manager is also very weak at WR, so to grab him may mean answering some important questions on where I place WRs ROS. But this feels like a team thats getting momentum right now at exactly the right time.

Jennings was added to the "limited in practice" list today with an ankle injury.

Something to keep an eye on tomorrow.

I love him, but have a hard time playing him because I have Deebo too. The rest of my WR corps is pretty strong. Hard to pull the trigger starting 2 WR's on the same team as CMC. Although, I would have won last week if I'd done that.

And really, I have a good feeling that I should be starting Jennings over Deebo if I'm only going to start one. But I don't have the stones to do that.

Have to decide two of Jennings, Mooney and Dobbins. Both Mooney and Jennings popped up on the injury report. Ugh

Jauan
Jennings
, in his first game back, led the
49ers
in:
  • Routes run
  • Targets
  • Receptions
  • Air yards
  • Receiving yards
Ran a route on 40 of 41 dropbacks and finished with a 32% target share and 34% air yardage share.

Match Quarters / Field Vision ranks his Threat Rating 5th highest in the league for the season.

If he's healthy seems like a smash start every week to me but depends on your other options.

#49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ankle) was a FULL participant in practice today after being limited yesterday. He has no injury designation and is good to go for Sunday.

I wouldn't trust him if you have better options.
You wouldn’t trust Jennings? I think he will be a WR1 the rest of the season and is a must start nearly every week, especially this week.

If you had Chase, Collins, Pickens, Wilson and Jennings and could only pick 3 would you still start him?

Jennings has the 6th highest PFF grade for WRs with =>20 targets (Collins, AJB, the other JJ, Godwin, Rice)

His Y/RR is 5th (Collins, AJB, Jefferson, Rice)

On deep targets he is 5/7 for 165 yards and a TD - his yards per target of 23.7 is 7th in the NFL

On his 47 targets Purdy has a passer rating of 124.2 (11th)

His rating from the Slot is 125.5 (also 11th)

His PFF grade on Deep Targets (20+) is 98.3

His PFF grade on Intermediate Targets (10-19 yards) is 96.0

If you have better options you’re not making lineup decisions because you have AJB, Chase & Jefferson

Some weeks, sure.

Jennings ripped the Buccaneers singe-high coverage last week (78% of snaps), and he's primed to do the same to Seattle this week. Since Week 2, Seattle has had the tenth-highest rate of single-high (56.5%). Jennings is second on the team with a 24% TPRR against single high while also logging 2.16 YPRR and a 23.8% first-read share. Since Week 4, Seattle has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game and the third-most receiving yards per game to perimeter wide receivers.

How many picked up Jennings when Deebo got injured weeks ago thinking Jennings would be a week or two haflway decent option but then held because he did so good but have a hard time wanting to start both of them if you got halfway decent options?

That's where I'm at, and as of right now got Jennings benched all 4 places I have him, but some you got me second guessing myself.
