WR Josh Gordon, KC (3 Viewers)

@Soulfly3 I don't always read your posts but you have stuck to your guns with Gordon. To the point where you're love for Gordon seems to almost be a running joke. Oddly, a small part of me wants to see Gordon do good just because you've hung in there the whole time. It's only two preseason catches but it's looking real good. If Gordon goes monster again, we will have to throw you a party. Until then...  :hifive:  and here's to you  :banned:

well that highlight bumped his ADP up 1 full round
Yeah, what's odd is that Griffen was sacked what, 5 times in limited play?

Woof. That won't last. Gordon bailed out RGIII on the deep pass into coverage. I got back and watched the highlights, and the stat sheet and highlight play tell a very different story from how that game was going.

I'm not 100% in. Maybe 65% in. Not sure how well this team is going to look for a few weeks - even when Gordon's back it could be shaky.

I am actually hoping McCown sticks around. I have more confidence in him getting Gordon/Coleman the ball than RG3.

Barnidge too (who I own a share of) - theoretically Barnadge should start hot due to Gotdon's absence, but I don't that this offense just yet. I'll likely roll out Jthomas until I've seen CLE against a full defensive effort/roster/scheme.

I've ended up with a lot of shares of Barnidge. How can you not like him in the 9th? Kinda nuts...if he reverts back to a pumpkin? Who cares, he didn't cost much.

ETA: took him 8,10 and 10 in three of my 12 team PPR leagues. Took him 5th in an early FFPC league.

Yeah, I don't get it. Was someone here doubting his talent? The issue is his ability to remain on the field.
This. The guy was a top three receiver in the league three years ago. We all know what he can do. A 43 yard TD reception is nice. But if you want me to be impressed with Gordon, put a big fat joint on the 20 yard line and see if he completes his route.

Blowing by a CB twice for 40+yd receptions, all whilst be a fat, drug addicted, out of shape slob, isn't enough for you?

Yikes.

While I do like Gordon's ability and think he will put up points when he comes back, didn't he blow past grimes? As a dolphins fan I can tell you that happened too often last year.

The touchdown should not have been a touchdown (offensive interference on a bad throw)... the first deep pass should have been a touchdown (bad throw).

The bad throws are a concern.

Fat? Out of shape?  You are quoting the wrong guy, son. I'm shocked you don't have a spread sheet with which members have said what about Gordon.

It wasnt directed at you. A general statement, if you will.

I kno the detractors are checking this thread, incognito

The point is this...all those rushing to judgement on Gordon look pretty foolish now given the circumstances.

Of course, very few of those individuals will admit they were wrong, which is what makes the board go round I suppose.

He legit looks like Megatron out there. His frame is freakish.

Nugatron gonna be a 3rd round pick in redraft after yesterday

I have lots of shares of Gordon in best ball leagues, got him real late in all of them too.

In redraft ,He's been going well ahead of where I was comfortable with, but with a couple teams left to draft I may just grab a bite of JG.

Ok trip, I take back what I said about feeling better with Mccown starting......

if rg3 can keep placing deep balls like he has been Gordon could prosper. Still don't feel comfortable drafting him as more than wr3 on any redraft team, it's still Cleveland and it's vs the bucs DEF in preseason. Those who shipped off 2nd round picks in dyno have to be feeling good though.

He has been suspended what 6 times?  I hardly would call that "rushing to judgement"

Wrong about what exactly?  Unpack this a bit

What circumstances? Two catches in a pre-season game? Quick, someone call Canton!

The primary doubt most owners have with this guy is his ability to stay out of trouble long enough to play an entire NFL season. How does last night change that? How is anyone right or wrong this morning? I would think even the biggest Gordon apologists would realize they should wait til at least Week 5 before running their mouth. Maybe wait and see what kind of season he actually has before claiming some kind of victory.

Gordon is a prime example of why the league needs to modify suspensions. He has obvious issues and instead of giving him support, there is no working out at the facility or an ability to lean on his teammates if he starts thinking about doing dumb stuff.

Just seems like an easy trigger... sitting at home and being banned from those in your life that are rooting for you to succeed.
Exactly right.  I follow Martavis Bryant on SnapChat and it seems like he is wasting away on his own. He talks about working out, but he lacks team support. That noted his lies let a lot of his team mates down and many don't want anything to do with him.

He needs his own nickname. Not a rip off of Calvin. Here's some bad ones that hopefully will spark an idea for someone who is smarter than I...

Joshua Trees aka Trees, Gordonzilla, Joshua the Hut, Darth Vapor, 12 Step, Gordon the Destoryer, Doobie Gordon, Groot, Dr. Doom, Green Goblin, Commissoner Gordon

He is going too high for my liking .... Regardless.... I don't understand how 2 preseason receptions make one group right and the other wrong?

Why would one do this?

My friends and I have been calling Josh Gordon, Flash Gordon for years?

At the draft was looked at like huh when I took him 4th round and now woke up to this morning to the first of probably many trade offers for him. The first incase anyone is caring the trade was Arian Foster, Zack Ertz and Vincent Jackson for Gordon..

Soulfly renamed him Nugatron. Then I threw out some remaining other options. Maybe it was that Flash doesn't really describe his play style? Not that my suggestions really did either.

I'm just messing around. Slow Saturday morning at work. Fantasy nicknames are fun to BS about. :D

"Just two catches"

Has nothing to do w the fact he is BACK in the NFL...

Has nothing to do w the fact that he TORCHED a CB at warp speed for a 40+yd bomb on his first catch in 2 yrs...

Has nothing to do with absolutely tearing apart that same CB for another 40ydTD

How about the fact that after nearly 2+yrs of barely stepping on a field, he still absolutely DOMINATED and looked every bit as fast and powerful as he did during his record setting season.

Why would we NOT be excited?
