I realize I already said that I think his being away from the team will be a positive.
Now, after watching Hard Knocks, I think that for more reasons than simply because his sobriety was in danger.
I feel I have been watching film on Jarvis Landry and Baker Mayfield extensively.  Steps, hands, eyes, etc.  In slow motion.  Up close.  I get there is older film on Jarvis, but opposing coaches are getting some great film.  And they now know Jarvis is going to come out hot. Defenses will adjust.
On the other hand, there is no new film on Josh Gordon other than the few games he played last year.  He had a full off-season with the team and is supposedly in freakish shape.  This isn't just an athlete though - we know he can play the position also.
I question the timing with Tyrod on some routes initially.  BUT, I think Tyrod is a good breakdown passer.  Tyrod moves in the pocket better than most and can run outside with the ball and extend the play well.  And he doesn't turn the ball over.  I think that bodes well for the WRs and Josh Gordon.
My biggest questions about the Browns after watching Hard Knocks is the state of the offensive line.  The tackles were not playing well at all.  Even in the preseason games.  And there is going to be two more weeks of film on all of them.
I think it is a good thing that Tyrod can move. And I think I understand better why the Browns are saying Mayfield isn't going in this year. Its the O Line.
But I digress.  Given the entire team (except maybe Jarvis) has been saying Josh Gordon was the best WR on the field and we can see what Jarvis is playing like...I think the fact there is no film on Josh Gordon is a plus for him possibly starting fast.
