WR Josh Gordon, KC (11 Viewers)

Josh Gordon - WR -  Browns

The Browns are officially listing Josh Gordon as a starter for Week 2.

After claiming for weeks that they would not start him, the Browns started Gordon in Week 1 and left him in for 69-of-89 snaps. Only Jarvis Landry was on the field more amongst the Browns' wideouts. Gordon could be a near every-down player in Week 2 against a Saints defense that just got throttled by Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bucs.

I know the NO defense is still good, but maybe they are figuring some stuff out right now, we all know how teams go through trends throughout the season. But these guys just got carved up by Evans, Djax, and Godwin. Josh Gordon has better long speed than Evans so should be an interesting match-up.

No kidding. I get that people for whatever reason think week 1 is an indicator of things to come, but its just one game, that was played in awful weather.  Pretty sure Roethlisberger isn't going to have 60 turnovers.
And Gordon won't have 16 TDs.

PS Gordon should have scored a TD on the INT Taylor threw.  He under threw the pass horribly (or Gordon was that fast).

But if even is leavin', Gordon was two steps farther than that on a post.

“Me and Josh were on two different pages [on the interception], but I take the blame for that,” Taylor said. “I could have put it down the field a little bit more. I was trying to give him something that he could go up and jump for.”

“I thought [the pass] was going to be a little bit deeper,” Gordon said. “I had to try to adjust and come back to the ball. I probably went too wide [in my route]. A lot of variables go into play.”

Tyrod the next time your 6’3 225 lb big play wr has 2 steps on the db maybe don’t overthink it, just throw that thing as high and as far as you can and let him run under it.

Been saying this since that play. Never...EVER...under throw Josh Gordon. That's blasphemy!

I thought I’d read he was missing camp this year.

Yeah. That's training camp but IIRC he participated in the entire off-season program between the end of last Season and the 2.5 weeks of TC he missed. That's a huge difference and a lot of work he got in during OTAs with the new offense.

So did he miss any of the OTAs or was it only the  training camp absenc. I only know about the latter.

Actually starting this bust of epic proportions this week over Cobb and Agholor this week. Someone talk some common sense into me

In a standard league, can I really start Gordon over Sanders, Stills, or Cooks? I really want to, but don't know if he's another week away.

Browns coach Hue Jackson said Josh Gordon will get more targets Week 2 against the Saints.

Gordon played 69-of-89 snaps Week 1, but he was only targeted three times -- a fourth target was negated by a penalty. "When he’s going like we know he can, he has an opportunity to make plays," Jackson said. "We’ve got to give him opportunities, and I think we’ll do that." Likely to see more targets against a Saints defense which was baptized by Ryan Fitzpatrick in the opener, Gordon has the look of an upside WR2.

So who wants to break out the tinfoil hat first?

That article is so vague, only referencing the injury he had before week 1, and no reference of reggravating it.

Coach speak all week was how he was listed as a starter and that he was going to get more targets.

Now this out of the blue on Saturday afternoon.

He either popped a hamstring or popped a urine test.

Ya something is weird about this.

Something smells here.  He goes from a coach statement that he is going to be used more to "out" without any elaboration on the injury?

According to Ian Rapaport, he came into the facility today complaining about his hamstring. Checked out by medical staff, ruled out. Didn't travel with team to NO.

Browns WR Josh Gordon came into the facility today and complained about his hamstring. Team medical staff checked him out and ruled him out for Sunday, I’m told. Unexpected.

Season Possibilities:

1. Takes another voluntary absence. I don't see why this would be anymore surprising than the last time.

2. Nagging injuries keep him sidelined. Dealing with hamstring now, not sure how close to "football" shape he is. Instagram pics are different than football shape IMO.

3. Gets suspended again. Historically speaking this is probably most likely.

4. Plays 16 games and is a productive football player. Would love to see what a healthy 16 game season would look like.

They are in the order that I would project most likely. I hope for the best as he is a generational physical specimen and the NFL is more exciting when he is on the field.
Hmmm...maybe this is a combo of 1 & 2? Hard to tell as of yet.
