WR Josh Gordon, KC (4 Viewers)

Never doubt Josh Gordon.

He is a must start if hes in the game.

This guy single handedly has led my march to the top of my league.

I can't believe there people even out there doubting him. I dont even care who is QB at this point; hes in my lineup.

Jason Campbell is all I have to say about that.

Josh Gordon caught seven passes for 151 yards and one touchdown in Cleveland's Week 14, 27-26 loss to the Patriots.
Gordon was targeted a team-high ten times and added 34 yards rushing on an end-around. He actually led the Browns in rushing. Gordon was held under wraps for much of the first half. He dropped his first target and caught his first pass with under five minutes to play before halftime. As Gordon usually does, he broke open in a big way. With 1:37 to play in the third quarter, Gordon beat Aqib Talib for an 80-yard touchdown. Gordon caught the pass at his own 30-yard line, stiff-armed Talib, and then ran right by Devin McCourty on his way to the end zone. Gordon has played 11 games this season and has 71 catches for 1,400 yards and eight touchdowns. He set the franchise record for receiving yards in a single season Sunday. The Bears are up next for matchup-proof Gordon.

GAP

the rest of the WR's.

I honestly think it's reaching that point. What he has done in spite of that QB carousel, is nothing short of amazing.

It is an honor and privilege to own both these studs. Throw in Fitzgerald, Graham, and ADP, and I'd just like to pat myself on the back Barry Horowitz style. And no this is not a 6 person senior center league. For once the cosmos aligned...but it still aint' over yet.

the crazy thing is that this is his 2nd year and he's played for some horrendous QBs this year, no run game and no other real receiving threat. Just throw it up and let him do the rest. He's like Randy Moss...he's an amazing talent.

ETA...this week he surpassed Calvin on the ppg basis for the #1 spot in my standard league with 17.3 ppg (22, 7, 14, 12, 2, 19, 5, 18, 29, 38, 24). Sick.

He also leads the league in receiving yards in just 11 games. 2 less than Johnson.

Flash Gordon.

At what point is he considered better than Megatron? Two more 150 plus games?
For me, I don't care what he does I don't think I could consider him to be better than Megatron. Gordon will go through his trials as teams will try and figure out what works to stop/slow him...so far it hasn't been found but he'll continue to be a focus week after week as Megatron has faced for years. The fact that we're even discussing Gordon vs. Megatron is pretty amazing but for the substance abuse issues alone I'd drop him down....it still is a real issue and the fact that the Browns were even considering moving him indicates that there are still issues there. Once the season is over and he has to deal with daily life outside of the confines of regimented football activities he'll be tested as a 22 year old...hopefully he makes the right decisions.

Clear cut second receiver drafted next season. If he stays this hot for the next three, possibly will overtake Megatron for #1.

Stop!

Now its out of control.

Easy to see the people who have him and are moving on are ecstatic, but stop with being better than Megatron.

Not only has CJ been doing it for longer, he has done it pot free.

Yes, I am a proud Gordon owner, but lets not get crazy.

What's crazy? His numbers are just as good or better. And he's improving.

At what point are defenses gonna realize put people on this dude. He is the Browns entire offense.
I don't know if you saw his TD yesterday but that play is unstoppable. I very basic play where he crosses the field, a little pass in stride 8 yards or so from the LOS, he gets it in his hands, stiff arm and BOOM, his physical abilities just dust the entire secondary (even guys with better angles like last week). I think he's the most explosive in the open field at this point.

don't know if you saw this....http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-gameday/0ap2000000293798/How-to-stop-Flash-Gordon

One more game than Calvin, he missed week 5 @ GB.

I know, whatever.

Agree. I'm in love with the kid but he's not on Calvin's level. No way.

I won't debate if he is better than Megatron but he is definately right up there with him at this point. To me he is the clearcut #2 WR in 2014 redrafts - I would not be disappointed at all if I got him instead of Megatron.

I love Calvin and you could be correct but I think the gap is closer than most people are willing to acknowledge.

Gordon may be in the substance abuse program (although I have read discussions that he is not, in fact, one strike away from a season long ban) but he can control that outcome (not saying he will just that he alone controls the outcome). Calvin OTOH always seems to be fighting a lingering health issue and every season my concern that he will break down physically increases and Calvin only has limited control over that outcome.

I also think Gordon is faster than Calvin.

Either way, the fact that it is close enough for discussion says a lot about Gordon's talent.

Also, Calvin has Stafford throwing to him. Gordon has had a mish-mash of garbage quarterbacks. Imagine Gordon with a top QB? Scary.

Why are you selling him short? If you're not taking Gordon #1 overall, you're losing your league. Hell you should find a way to take him with the #0 pick if you can bfore someone else grabs him.

You don't think he's the #2 WR right now in fantasy?

Damn right I don't. #1 now and 4eva.

If the Browns start next season with Hoyer as they proclaimed starting QB, or bring in a solid QB, I would without hesitation take Gordon #1 over Megatron... meaning Id take him anywhere from the 4th pick onwards (in redraft)

He not only has the best numbers in football over the last 1/4th of the season, but his numbers are the BEST EVER for a receiver over a four game span. And that's with no quarterback and being the only weapon on the team. Easily the WR2 going into 2014.

Rotoworld:

Josh Gordon's 774 receiving yards in the past four games is an NFL record.

It's an absurd average of 193.5 yards per game and Gordon also has five touchdowns during this tear. Perhaps most impressively, he lit up Aqib Talib for a 7/151/1 line in Foxboro on Sunday despite not catching a pass until there was less than five minutes to play in the second quarter. Gordon leads the NFL in receiving yards (1,400), is tied for 13th in catches (71) and is tied for 11th in touchdowns (8) despite being suspended for the first two games of the season.

Flash reminds me of drafting a system generated WR with 99 speed in Madden.

One missed tackle, one failed attempt at playing the ball, and he's gone.

At some point, that has to get in the head of DBs, "Okay...don't play the ball; just make the tackle. Don't let him behind you. Don't jump anything short, but don't wait to close on him when he does catch something short..... Oh ####, here we go..."

edit: If Weeden clears the concussion protocol, who starts next week? As good as Gordon's day was, I think it would have been even better with Weeden force feeding him the ball.

Campbell will start. The Browns, the city of Cleveland, and all of NE Ohio are done with Weeden...he's only in there as a last resort.

As awesome as Gordon is, remember that he is still another failed drug test away from being suspended for a whole season. It seems awfully risky to spend a 1st round pick on a guy who is that close to being suspended. Think of Justin Blackmon this year.

and any player is one hit away from a torn acl.

Sure, so you have the same risk as every other player, PLUS the suspension in addition.
