WR Josh Gordon, KC (1 Viewer)

It wasn't too inflammatory but I still hate it when guys say things like that.
You're not one of those bulliten board material people are you?
You mean do I worry that providing bulletin board material may help a player to elevate his game? Sure, why not?Do you think players play exactly the same week-in-week-out?
I believe professional football players play their best every Sunday no matter what's in the newspaper. Gordon's comments will not enhance Talib's performance in any way.

I believe you are not even close to correct in your belief. Have you honestly never seen a professional football player quit during a game?

Usually on bad teams late in the season. This wouldn't apply. Gordon's comments will not enhance Talib's performance in any way.

He only needs 41 yards to set the all-time Cleveland Browns club record so that doesn't seem like a stretch to say Josh Gordon has a good chance to attain that one Sunday but another one is much more interesting and that is the NFL all-time record for yardage in three straight games.

Gordon needs over 140 yards to get that one.

The comments he made were far from boastful, you have to track-down the actual interview which was overwhelmingly defferential to the Patriots and their coaching and in particular to their defense and to Aqib Talib specifically.

The comments won't motivate Aqib but you can bet that Bill Belichick has that posted on every bulletin board and that BB is going to scheme to try and limit the damage from Gordon much like he limited TE Jimmy Graham when they played New Orleans awhile back.

Is he already 2nd on that list with his game v Cinci three weeks ago (125 yards & a TD)?

This comment makes me think you have not played competitive sports much in your life and/or have never played better when angry.

I don't think I've ever seen Talib NOT play angry.

Through college. I didn't need newspapers to wake me up and neither will Talib. Just because you get mad at the playground or when you were 7 doesn't mean it translates into adulthood. Bulletin board material is BS.

Most competitors respond to public challenges

I see the pro bowl snub motivating this guy. I hope someone mentioned it to him so he can be like "Oh really. We'll see about that."

Third straight 200 yd week.

This is such a simplified and obtuse view. Okay, not all press clippings, quotes, inflammatory comments etc etc are going to be used and be able to galvanise a player into playing a stormer, but the very notion that sports people trot out every week like robots and perform the exact same irregardless of any thousands of outside factors is utterly absurd. Inflammatory comments by managers/players etc at the wrong time have caused many an adverse reaction/ positive reaction (depending on which way you look at it) through the annals of time in a wide variety of sports.

Comments can effect performances, much like form, physical condition, personal life circumstances, mood that day and any other unlimited number of intangible and tangible reasons can.

Personally, I've been in a changing room and been the recipient of a team talk that has involved opposition comments being taped up to a wall. I can most certainly tell you that when we stepped out on the pitch that day, we had an extra fire in our bellies and an extra motivation to make the opposition go and eat their words.

Is there any way I can trash talk this thread, get it to post my comment on a bulletin board and suddenly make it better?

Don't have the game in my area, and been too focused on my Raiders, the WAS/KC game, and the DET/PHI game -- a man can only process so much info at once.

Is Joash gordon's bagel so far a result of good coverage? No targets? Weather doesn't seem to be a big issue. After all the pissing in the thread, just want to know what's up here so far.
