All kidding aside, psychological addiction to weed can be a pretty big deal that can absolutely cause big problems in people's lives. Which it looks to be doing in Gordon's case.I've got an acquaintance that I used to be much better friends with in my early / mid 20s when a bunch of us used to hang out getting stoned and playing Madden pretty much every night after work. Obviously, as everyone got older, got real jobs, got married, and had kids those days of heading out to the bars with the one hitter box and partying 6-7 nights a week stopped. For most of us. For this guy that never stopped, and he's been pulled over twice now and busted for weed leaving the bars late at night. He's lost jobs, and can't get a decent one now with the multiple arrests. His wife left him and now he doesn't see his two kids anymore except on weekends. I bumped into him a few months ago at a bar, and guess what? He wanted to know if I wanted to step outside so he could smoke me out. He's not a bad guy, and certainly not a stupid person overall, but just continues to self medicate and take huge stupid risks to do so. But weed isn't ever addictive, right?marijuana addiction is not a joke, you numbskulls.
ETA: I'm guessing quite a few of us know "that guy." And while weed should be legal, it isn't. And continuing to risk one's livelihood to use it in the face of massive consequences pretty much fits the textbook definition of addiction, physical withdrawal or not.
