WR Josh Gordon, KC (8 Viewers)

his friend just held it for him, face it.
Oh. Different story then.Im sure the Nfl is gonna charge him for a crime someone else had been charged for
if it's in the car it's in his possession.
Yet he wasnt charged. Explain Pls
sometimes these things take more than a week to play out. either way, you cannot dismiss this incident.

this in no way at all helps his situation.

Give it up soulfly. Remember when you argued that he wasnt in stage 3 last week. Well he was and now this happens. Good grief the guys an idiot. Probably gonna be banned for life. Good riddance

You don't think Gordon himself knows what stage of the program he's in?
I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't.
Please. How could he not know.

Probably the same way he didn't know he shouldn't be speeding when his passenger has a bag of drugs...

@WKYCSports: #Browns WR Josh Gordon was issued a speeding ticket over Memorial Day Weekend. http://t.co/F23mncqbmC
cut him
It seems as if he just cant avoid having issues.
LOL at speeding tickets being "issues"
I would think anyone having an issue involving the law is a bad thing.
Literally thousands of tickets handed out daily at the end of every month in every state. A non-issue.

Now his passenger having weed? smh
Folks, he is around these people frequently enough that incidents, direct fault to zero fault (but association with the fault) like that on MDW, are being reported in the news related to weed more than on a seldom basis. These are his friends, the people that make him feel comfortable to be himself outside of football.

They smoke weed. My point is not to go down the "is it OK or not" road in here, but to say that association with/use of weed is not OK with the NFL, which is who makes the final calls that matter here re: FF relevance for a SP discussion.

He smokes it, generally speaking w/o knowledge of whether he's currently smoking it or when he last smoked it based on past failed tests. Being that his friends don't have NFL star-potential careers on the line, and the fact that he hasn't done a darn thing to distance himself (In line of an OTL report within the last month of a failed drug test that could "potentially" get him a 1+ year ban before the MDW story), and the potential loss of a future mega-contact STILL doesn't scare him into distancing himself from these friends...time to cut and run, folks. If not now, he's gonna break your heart sooner or later. By association, or usage. Right or wrong, it's the NFL's call.

We don't know what Goodell and the league are going to do about the OTL reported failed drug test, or this story following the supposed failed drug test that would make Goodell look weak if he doesn't do something re: MDW. Have to wait on an announcement there, but I'd be shocked if this is Josh's "rock bottom/turn around" moment, even if he's not given a 1 year ban.

THE INTERVIEW

Sept. 16, 2013

BEREA: Coming off a two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon realizes that he has essentially run out of second chances.

Gordon blamed prescription cough medicine that contained codeine for triggering a failed drug test in the offseason. He also failed three marijuana tests in college before the Browns drafted him in the second round of last year’s supplemental draft, and he believes he’ll face a full season banishment from the league if he slips up one more time.

“I think that’s what it is,” Gordon said Monday. “I believe so.”

Gordon knows one more strike could cost him his career.

“I feel like it’s a last-chance opportunity for the league,” Gordon said. “Nobody wants a problematic type of person in their program, in their organization because of how it perceives to be. I definitely want to stay away from any controversy as long as I can, forever. That’s definitely my No. 1 priority.”

Gordon was granted a roster exemption Monday from Commissioner Roger Goodell, so the Browns don’t need to make a move to create room for him until Wednesday.

Gordon spent the past couple of weeks working out and attending meetings at the team’s training facility. He also has volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club on Broadway Avenue in Cleveland during his downtime.

Meanwhile, Gordon hasn’t been allowed to practice the past two weeks or play in the first two games. The offense produced only one touchdown during his suspension, and the Browns fell to 0-2.

“Just being taken away from it is a humbling experience for me,” Gordon said. “I found an appreciation for the game. The absence of it makes the heart grow fonder in a sense. That’s really what it’s about for me right now.”

In the same breath some say "he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed" followed by "how can he not know he's in stage 3" :lmao:

Maybe I am wrong, but I am guessing the NFL gives some sort of notice to those who are in stage 3, just a little "heads up" you know. Perhaps the 10 tests monthly is a clue.

Why is that funny?

Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, who's awaiting word on his drug suspension, was stopped for speeding in Strongsville over Memorial Day Weekend, and the officer smelled marijuana in the car when he pulled Gordon over, a source told cleveland.com.

My question is ... why is anyone still trying to explain and reason with Soulfly? There's absolutely no point, and by now I'm believing most of what he's posted for the last 30 pages or so is total schtick and he's laughing his a** off as he types it.

Think about it, with what he's up against, and what he's "doing about it," do you trust he'll be not on your dynasty team, but in the league, inside of 2-3 years?

Time to cut losses, absent of any redeeming ancillary information.

he is a homer. Homer's aren't usually logical. They're great to tailgate with though. Between that and five hours of booze I usually end up in the stadium thinking we will win every week. Then reality and the hangover hits by the third quarter.

My biggest regret is not keeping tally of all the insults hurled my way.

When he gets 6 gamed Im gonna quote and shame all of you.

And Ill expect an apology

I think there's still some entertainment value to be had. I like watching someone try and convince the world that Adam Scheffter doesn't know stuff.

If he gets 6 games, I'll be the first to say I'm sorry I doubted your viewpoint on this. I just don't see it. I am a Gordon dynasty owner, as well.

Let's say he gets 6 games, awesome. He's back in the saddle by week 7. If he only gets 6 games, that has to be a stay of execution, meaning next offense he's out of the league for good.

Are you willing to bet on that? I know Gordon has top tier talent, but, I'm not confident betting on that now. Especially, inside of a month after the OTL information surfaced which the league has not yet officially ruled on, he's in another (let's call it indirect and give him the benefit of the doubt of not having smoked) sketchy situation where a passenger is at least transporting, if not smoking, weed in a car he's driving.

Tells me, he's not lasting in this league long term - even if he survives what's stacked against him currently.

I don't get why this debate means anything for either side.Gordon is a #### head that does not get it and does not give a #### about the team.

Six games, sixteen games, more, I don't give a ####. You're a loser and I am tired of rooting for losers.

Honest question

If the reports are true that gordon did not FAIL a test, but missed it...

Are you all gonna keep going w the "this guy is a helpless addict" routine?

Just interested in how the narrative is going to go in this case.

I don't think any official source could say that he just missed the test, which means it'd come from him/his agent again, whom I wouldn't trust to tell the truth anyway.

He was pulled over in a vehicle that smelled enough of marijuana that the police officer searched it.

But that doesnt answer my question.

Smell of marijuana doesn't mean he was smoking it. A fat bag can stink up a house.

Im saying - if hypothetically he did NOT fail a test due to the substance being found in his body, what happens to the "helpless addict" shtick?

Ive never claimed the guy was a genius. He's shown tbe opposite. But what if in this instance it was something else?

Yup. His career depends on staying away from marijuana, yet he can't manage to last a long weekend without hanging out with a buddy loaded up with enough weed to be obvious to a police officer. Why do you suppose that friend had the weed? Do you suppose he might have been intending to smoke it? Perhaps he was bringing it with him because he intended to smoke it at his and Gordon's destination? You know, where he and Gordon were both going to be hanging out. Even if Gordon didn't smoke it himself, do you think that would be a wise decision for Gordon to make, hanging out around someone smoking weed?

Do you think that Gordon was unaware his friend had weed when they got in the car together? Does this seem like good decision making from a person whose very career depends on his ability to avoid being associated with weed? Is this the kind of person you want to trust to make good decisions for the rest of his career?

then he will get busted some other time because the man is watching him like a hawk and this loser doesn't give a ####.

Even if he's not smoking it, he let someone into his car with enough weed that could be smelled by a police officer. If I give him the benefit of the doubt on the smoking aspect (I doubt he wasn't smoking) he's still stupid.

I was trying to trade for Gordon before this latest incident, but now...I don't want me none of that shiiit. Don't want it in my house. Don't want it in my car. Definitely don't want it anywhere near me. No thank you. I don't want no Gordon Pot.

Honestly, I think this might ironically turn me into a Gordon buyer. Prior to this, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that in any given group, I was the lowest on Gordon. Never even made sense to send offers. Now I think the backlash is going to be strong enough that there'll be a good chance I'll just be middle-of-the-pack in my ranking instead of by-far-the-lowest.
