I'd say the opposite. I think Gordon's suspension now appears completely ridiculous in comparison to the punishment given to Rice. The NFL has already issued a tougher policy regarding punishment following domestic violence. Makes sense to me that they follow that up with a more reasonable policy regarding punishment of recreational drug use while also getting tougher on HGH. Any attempt to try and defend the length of the Welker and Gordon suspensions in light of the Rice video is now laughable.

Why is it laughable? The video just confirms the facts that most knew. The presence or lack of video should have no impact the length of suspension. When the rules are bad, the two sides need to meet at the bargaining table and adjust them.

What's laughable is the DA/gov't kicking this to the curb.

After seeing the video it does seem a lot worse to me. Not only did he knock her out but afterwards there was no concern at all. It is insane to me that he isn't in a jail cell because that is definitely going to happen again.

That's how I see it as well. I had been giving him the benefit of the doubt but he showed no remorse after knocking her out and dragging her out of the elevator. I was hoping there were some extenuating circumstances that would mitigate the seriousness of what he did but quite simply, he's an #######.

On one hand I think it is a positive they have something to vote on, but don't underestimate the negative impact HGH testing could have on MANY players and that could cause the player reps to vote this down.

This is a very tricky situation for the players union.

It will also be a very tricky situation for all of us as fantasy owners. If we think suspensions are difficult to deal with now, I think it will be worse (for a while) if HGH testing is passed. I would guesstimate up to 2-3 times more suspensions
