WR Josh Gordon, KC (3 Viewers)

Cleveland took a few shots down the field last night, and the strong run game sets up play action.

If anything, Gordon will have 3-4 chances a game to score a deep TD.

I don't see him being targetted 10-12 times a game, but if he can capitalized on 7-8 targets in a game - which he's shown he can do, he'll be more than worth it.

I expect 5-110-1 per/game - week 12 onwards.

My fear is their defense makes plays early, and their run game scores 2-3 times in the first half of games, and they are left protecting a two score lead in the 2nd half.

Either way

From the outside looking in, Cleveland's identity this year is to run the heck out of the ball, not fling it all over the place like last year. Is this year's offense a product of Gordon NOT playing or a different philosophy altogether? I'm as excited as most for Gordon's return having enjoyed him last year and held him in several leagues this year but I can't help but wonder if we're going to be disappointed.
its run the heck out of the ball offense then play action to the WR1 and TE, its the same offense that kyle ran in houston (arian foster and andre johnson) and then in washington (alfred morris and pierre garcon), its incredibly fantasy friendly to own the rb and wr1 in this scheme. right now though there is no wr1 for cleveland, hawkins is running the medium routes while austin comes in on 3rd down as the possession receiver to move the chains, in the past this has been done by the same player which all signs point to gordon being on his return. so add together austins and hawkins current targets and you get an idea of what gordon is looking at, then add in the redzone targets when they split him out alone in 1v1s at the goal line. right now they are running in the red zone and not splitting anyone out alone because they have no redzone wr that can out muscle/jump the opponents best cover corner, so gordon will be that guy too. the upside is just ridiculous.

I love that Cleveland is in first place. Just adds to the Gordon anticipation for some reason. So giddy. He will absolutely beast. The week 12-16 schedule makes my pants tight.

It wouldve been all too easy for Gordon to get sloppy in the "offseason" and come back in week 12 out of shape and "coasting"

By all account from beat writers and Gordon himself (with photo evidence), he looks to be in the best shape of his life.

He's insanely ripped, shredded and cut. And Im talking about his physique, not his level of high.... even the way he's hyping his return... this cat is ready to let loose.

My biggest question regarding Gordon's comeback is: Will Soulfly spontaneously combust if Gordon comes back from his suspension and plays poorly or gets hurt?

Calvin returned with a big game and Mike Evans has been doing great lately (and I have Martavius Bryant on my bench). If they all keep this up it's going to be hard for me to start Gordon when he returns...

He's coming back against Atlanta, which is a fantasy gold mine. Assuming AD doesn't decide to suit up against GB, there's no question I'm flexing him!

I know Im biased, but even trying to put that aside - Gordon backhanding Talib on that route was the best play of last season.

Just made him look like a high school corner. It was ignorant

Is everyone starting him first week back? Will he get the snaps - or should we wait a week.
I'll be starting him in my flex over Marshall or sanders first week back.
does anyone have their snaps limited in week 1?
No, but how caught up is he with the playbook changing weekly and his conditioning. I'm aware he's healthy- but is he in game shape? Any reports on him doing anything football related or gameplanning while waiting. I want to be on this train with you.

I feel like you guys still aren't getting it.

This is an elite WR (10th most rec yards in NFL history in only 14 games) coming back to a team that is currently in 1st place but with a gaping hole at the WR position, a dream stretch schedule and a QB that throws a good deep ball.

Hes going. To. Eat.

He's allowed at the team facilities, meetings, and work outs.

I'll save you a seat, right next to me, my friend.

Sometimes, yes. Normally people who weren't able to practice in camp, take hits and get into football shape such as a player who held out right up to the end of camp. Revis is a great example, suffered a hamstring immediately upon showing up. He was in great shape too but said working out on your own isn't the same as practice when it comes to being in game shape.Gordon at least went through camp, but 12 weeks is a long time off to lose some of that. I expect I will be starting him but anyone thinking of it should be watching the team next week for comments on his usage. My guess is he plays fully but it shouldn't be a total shocker to anyone if they eased him back in his first game, either.

Fair. But Id still take Gordon playing 70% of snaps over 95% of other players playing 100%.

Im tuned in to the Brown, big time... Ill keep you all posted about what I know/hear/see leading up to ATL

Look at it this way; you'll get a pillar of flame if Gordon tanks or a geyser of man goo if he doesn't.

Don't pretend you see anything other than a win there, regardless of outcome.

#freeJoshGordon!

Maybe I'll regret it, but right now I'd probably have to sit him. I'll have to look at the matchups but I can only start 3 WRs in a PPR and E. Sanders, Maclin, and Julio Jones have been getting it done. Hopefully I'm wrong and he goes off.

I'm getting jacked. In one league I am currently probably 5-5. I have Julio and Antonio Brown, with DeAndre Hopkins in the flex. If there is any chance I can still control my own destiny after this week, I like my team to win the league. I've been trying to move Hopkins but no luck. Having Gordon in my flex would be beastly.

Well I have to start this guy as opposed to choosing between my current WR2 (Baldwin or Randle). Gee tough decision. Yes I'll be starting him immediately.

I'll be starting him alongside DT and Hilton, with M.Bryant on the bench. Can't wait for his Week 11 Bye to end!!

To ANYONE thinking of sitting him, benching him, waiting a week:

you're welcome
It is ridiculous to think that this level of talent has been on my bench for 10 starts, fresh legs, ready to roll. And that he did all of this in 2013 with the majority of Weeden/Campbell.

He's gonna go nicely flexed with Brown and Cobb where I have him.

 :excited:

Watching him stiff arm and pull away from Talib and run that route against the Steelers. School. Is. In.

Finally a few folks weighing in that don't have 4 top 5 WRs on the roster. I mean gracious. For those of you that do have a plethora, use one to go get a week winner at TE or QB or RB.

I am offering Benjamin or Jeffery for Brees on account of Gordon's return.

Ask Martavis Bryant if its possible to perform as a WR1 with only 50% of the snaps. Gordon should do fine with at least that and probably more.
