Maybe not, I really have no idea how likely or unlikely it is.

My first thought is, what's the downside?  The NBA doesn't test for it, so they don't have the bad press of failed tests.  I don't think NFL owners really care if the players smoke weed, and would rather have them playing than suspended.  I don't know why they wouldn't do it.

I think 90% he gets reinstated. 

After he gets reinstated it is:

60% chance he does something stupid after being reinstated to lose his playing privileges before the 2016 season ends.  I assume his suspension was not paid so once he starts getting money again I am sure that will complicate things since he will have more options to do stupid stuff. 

75% chance he violates Browns team rules - like missing practice, film sessions, etc, and the Browns initiate some sort of discipline instead of the league.

I have him on my team but am looking at him entirely as a bonus and not a core component heading into 2016.  His behavior pattern requires that regardless of what he says he is doing.  Actions speak louder than words.

That CBA the players agreed to was absurd. I am on a football message board in April so I am glad there was a quick deal but besides agreeing to the franchise tag I think the whole nonsense about prescribed pain killers being fine but weed being banned is a huge mistake. Guess that's a topic best kept in the FFA though. I dunno how anyone can make an argument that weed is a bigger danger to players, or society in general, than pain killers unless you work for a drug company and want to keep printing money.

 
Anyways... So those who were totally dead-set against Gordon and Manziel hanging out...

No one giving any credit that NEITHER has been photographed at clubs, or anywhere else, drinking/smoking? Or are we pretending the media isnt hanging off Johnny's nuts to bust him again?

And yes, of course... I am fully aware they are getting hammered before and after the club. just nothing while there. of course.

I'd be willing to believe that Gordon is staying sober and drug free. I would never believe that Manziel is.

 
Yeah, I give mad props to Johnny every day he doesn't break a girls' eardrum too.  

You don't get credit for being in a club, and not being photographed doing something stupid.  Are you kidding?

'Johnny was in two clubs, and there's no video of him doing blow.  VICTORY!!!!!!'

I'm not going to tell people how to live their lives but my understanding is that addicts (I don't think Gordon is one, but I'd guess Manziel is) aren't supposed to put themselves in situations where they would be surrounded by temptation.

I still don't think this has any effect on his reinstatement hearings, but still maintain it shows poor judgment on his part. I'd love to see both of them turn things around and get back in the league. I think both are enjoyable to watch play.

I don't know why Greg Hardy hasn't gotten another chance.  

He hasn't thrown a woman on a futon covered in automatic weapons in like, years.

Gordon is the only one out of these two that has the talent to succeed in the NFL.  To bad he has succumb to "Johnny Loser".  Manziel's parents need to stop enabling him for he is done in the NFL so stop taking down talent with him.  What a waste.

We can probably move this thread to wherever FBG is keeping the Justin Blackmon thread.  Gordon will never play in the NFL again.  In my opinion.

 
The Cleveland Plain Dealer believes the Browns could welcome suspended WR Josh Gordon back if he's reinstated when first eligible in August.
ESPN's Pat McManamon guessed in May that the team would move on from the troubled wideout, but beat writer May Kay Cabot believes new coach Hue Jackson will be "surprised" by Gordon. Cabot expects Jackson to "look (Gordon) in the eyes and try to determine if he's as committed as he needs to be." For all the headaches he's caused, it's hard to believe the Browns would move on from a player as talented as Gordon. Unlike Johnny Manziel, he's an actual star, and his transgressions have been less serious.

Do we even know that Goodell sat on his last request for very long as opposed to denying it and it just took us some time to find out? I think if Gordon has complied with things he needs to do I don't anticipate his reinstatement request taking overly long this time, especially with camps open by that time.

I still don't think he'll be a Brown for a long, as in past the trade deadline.

 
Wasn't Dion Jordan, who as far as we know had a cleaner offseason, eligible for reinstatement back in June?  Not a good sign for Gordon
