Still laughing? Please. 16 point game with about 6 to go. No sign of stopping Rodgers all day? Game was over. That being said, I've reviewed the play where he got hurt and it's very hard to tell. I've narrowed it to either 1) hip flexor strain when he tried to pull out of the leg tackle, 2) labrum issue from when he landed on his left knee while the defender held his right ankle. With either he could potentially play, but obviously a labrum issue could be worse. Marshall has famously played through that, and then had surgery in the offseason. Harvin missed lots of time with it.the game was far from decided. and julio figured to be a very important player if they were to come back. Can't is a strong word. Sideline reporter said he's was going back in, but they told him no. Sounds like being cautious to me with so much left to play for and the current game being a long shot.Anytime a player can't return to the game, it's significant and next week is in doubt. If he's out Harry Douglass becomes a sneaky play... hoping it doesn't come to thatHe wanted to go in. Trainers said no. I'm guessing he's okay, but he took a lot of punishment tonight.
I'm not positive it's either, but with my background in sports med and PT, those look to be very possible based on the play in question.![]()
somebody has to catch those passes in an expected shoot out ...and harry has proven he can excel if neededI have a hard time starting Harry Douglas in the semi finals. Something about that doesn't sit right with me.Grabbed `Ol Harry just in case
I just wish I had Douglas in the league I have Julio. Lineups are locked except in cases of IR, so I can't pick him up, really sucks so Mike Wallace goes in and I hate that. I did pick up Douglas last year and in another league so I have him going there and with my experience with him last year I am pretty confident and starting him over Wallace there.somebody has to catch those passes in an expected shoot out ...and harry has proven he can excel if neededI have a hard time starting Harry Douglas in the semi finals. I got lucky that Wallace played way better than I expected, so not having Douglas in 1 of 2 leagues wasn't a problem, even though I still got crushed in that one. :( I wasn't surprised by Douglas' results (he helped my other team a lot). I had a feeling they would be playing from behind and he would get a lot of receptions. He obviously outdid what I expected (15 points in PPR).I just wish I had Douglas in the league I have Julio. Meh, I think he can rest another week.Falcons need Julio Jones back healthy now more than ever:
http://espn.go.com/blog/atlanta-falcons/post/_/id/10760/falcons-need-julio-jones-hip-back-healthy-now-more-than-ever
Speaking Tuesday, Falcons OC Dirk Koetter left open the possibility that Julio Jones (hip) misses Week 16.
Coach Mike Smith has already said he expects Jones to suit up against the Saints, but Smith has proven completely untrustworthy on player injuries. "It’s hard when you don’t know for sure if a guy is going to play," Koetter said. "We kind of have to have a contingency both ways. We have some ‘what if Julio plays,’ and some ‘what if Julio does not play.’ ... That’s one of the hardest things about not knowing if one of your best guys is going to go." The picture Koetter paints is one of uncertainty. We're unlikely to get a good read on Jones' status before Thursday or Friday, and it's quite possible he ends up a game-time decision.

this is from sundayI'll be honest and say I hope he sits as a still in Douglas owner and a knocked out Julio owner. As a Panthers fan, I am torn as I would rather Atlanta be at full strength as the only hope we have is Atlanta being NO, since TB isn't going to do it.
Based on the pre-game news, did Julio even attempt to see if he could go? I know he was a GTD, but I would think that if he couldn't even attempt to see if he could go says a lot more about week 16. If he was 50/50 and just felt like he could make it worse and miss the last two week then that would say more about him having a good chance. If he didn't even try, then maybe it is worse than a 1 week off injury. Even as a Panthers fan, if he isn't ready to go, I'd rather have him sit based on the Calvin/Roddy experiences where they added so little help when they were clearly still hurt that I don't think it helped the team.
News progressively got worse on Jones in the lead-up to the release of the Falcons' inactives. Jones was scheduled to warm up on the field before the game, but never made it out there. He remained on the training table, and it's been reported that Julio is dealing with a labrum issue in his hip.

Jones has a big test run on Saturday before the team leaves for New Orleans. How he recovers from the run by Sunday morning will determine if he will play against the Saints.

I didn't know that he had a "test-run" last Saturday so that's SORT OF encouraging. I'm also glad he will be having another "test run" 24hrs before game time. But like most JJ/Douglas owners, I'm just looking for some confirmation either way.http://www.ajc.com/news/sports/football/falcons-injury-report-jones-not-a-practice-big-tes/njXFr/Falcons injury report: Jones not at practice; big test-run on Saturday

Exactly what I'm thinking. H. Douglas is starting for me if he's suited up or not.Dude has a torn labrum, the only question has how badly torn. He ain't playing and even if for some reason they did make him active he would be a decoy only. They are just trying to keep the Saints guessing.
This is a serious injury that at some point will require surgery. It is possible to play temporarily through a torn labrum but to do so might jeopardize Jones longterm health and shorten his career. Also, this injury just happened two weeks ago so you can be assured the pain and swelling have not gone away yet.
Jones would have be stupid to play through this injury. Falcons lose this week, he is put on IR for week 17. IF they win they might hold out hope the swelling will come down enough to play in a playoff game but even then he is risking longterm consequences.
Julio Jones - WR - Falcons
ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure expects Julio Jones (hip) to play in Sunday's game at New Orleans.
Jones remains a game-time call after not practicing at all the last two weeks. But the Falcons are in a must-win spot and obviously need their most talented offensive weapon. Here's the full report from McClure: "From all the information I've gathered, Jones definitely will play against the Saints. And it's not as if the Falcons will have him on the field just as a decoy. They need Jones in this desperation game, so I suspect he will get plenty of opportunities." We'll have more information by Sunday morning at the absolute latest.

Can we stop with this please? Also please stop with the tasty matchup business as well. This one kills me. He has such a juicy matchup this week too. Saints have had a tough time covering him now for a few years now. Annnnd he likely won't play or just be a decoy. Greaaaat...
No clue where he got that info. Such detail yet completely made up!Does he have a torn labrum? I don't remember seeing any confirmation on what he has.
