WR Justin Jefferson, MIN (3 Viewers)

Jeff Okudah has mostly covered DeVonta Smith, Terry McLaurin and Justin Jefferson this season.
  • Smith: 0 yards vs. Lions, 249 yards in 2 other games.
  • McLaurin: 2-22 yards vs. Okudah, 160 yards in 2 other games.
  • Jefferson: 3-14 yards vs. Lions, 232 yards in 2 other games.
TBF McLaurin had 53 yards VS the Lions zone coverage. Per Mike Clay, none of Jefferson’s three catches yesterday came when Okudah was the nearest DB.
So maybe he is one of the best cover corners even if nobody is talking about it........yet

Except he’s never going to be a great coverage CB; that’s not his game. He’s a very strong & physical corner who jams at the line and throws guys off stride.

Very good run defender as well.

Might just seem like semantics to some, but to me a great cover corner is a speedster like Slay who can stay stride for stride with any burner. You can leave those guys in an island for the most part.

Okudah is very effective but he needs help over the top from the safety. Not a knock on him, just I think it’s important to understand different coverage styles. Some receivers struggle without a free release.

I cant' believe people were taking this guy over Kupp (note I never was never faced with the option but I very well may have been one of those fools if I had)

Justin Jefferson caught 10-of-13 targets for 147 yards in the Vikings' Week 4 win over the Saints, adding one carry for three yards and a touchdown.

Jefferson found the end zone on a three-yard sweep near the goal line. He walked into the end zone untouched. After two games of being held under 50 receiving yards, the 147-yard performance was an impressive rebound from the third-year receiver. Jefferson consistently got the better of Saints corner Marshon Lattimore in this game, including a 39-yard shot to get Minnesota in range for their game-winning field goal. Jefferson remains a top-three fantasy receiver heading into Week 5.

Justin Jefferson caught 6-of-8 targets for 107 yards in the Vikings' Week 6 win over the Dolphins.

The NFL's receiving yards leader coming into the week, Jefferson's eight targets were his second-fewest of the season, and he watched as Adam Thielen and Irv Smith caught both of Kirk Cousins' touchdowns in this one. Still, Jefferson went over 100 yards for the fourth time in six weeks but hasn't found the end zone since Week 1. Jefferson gets the Week 7 bye before a Week 8 date at home against the Cardinals' weak pass defense.

Justin Jefferson caught 7-of-13 targets for 115 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' Week 9 win against the Commanders, adding one rush for ten yards.

It's Jefferson's fifth game of more than 100 receiving yards (he had 98 yards last week against the Cardinals). He made minced meat of Washington defenders in the first quarter, when he made a short touchdown catch in what looked like it might be a nuclear performance for the Vikings' No. 1 wideout. Things mostly fizzled from there outside of a 47-yard third quarter grab down the sideline on a well-placed ball from Kirk Cousins. Jefferson nearly came down with a second touchdown too. He'll be an elite fantasy play, as always, in Week 10 against the Bills.

Cousins really seems so streaky with him...finds him 5 times in the first 10 minutes and then mostly ignored...

Justin Jefferson caught 10-of-16 targets for 193 yards and a touchdown in Minnesota's Week 10 win against the Bills.

His fourth-and-18 catch where he managed with one hand to bring the ball down and simulatenously rip it away from Cam Lewis might have been the catch of the season. He also added in a ho-hum touchdown reception right over Christian Benford in the first quarter, and managed to keep several other drives alive with huge third-down catches. Jefferson hasn't had the fantasy season that Stefon Diggs or Tyreek Hill has had, but we don't see any reason to argue with the idea that he's the most talented wideout in the game. He'll remain an upper-echelon WR1 against the Cowboys in Week 11.

Justin Jefferson caught 9-of-11 targets for 139 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' Week 12 win over the Patriots.

Jefferson's supreme route running got him open often in this game, but even when he was covered, he wasn't covered. The 23-year-old phenom made a number of contested catches that simply shouldn't be possible. He punctuated his performance with a 36-yard reception while being covered by a pair of New England defenders. He secured the rainbow from Kirk Cousins despite taking a hard hit from Pats safety Devin McCourty. Jefferson gets an exciting matchup with Jets' corner Sauce Gardner in Week 13. Even though Sauce has shut down plenty of receivers this year, Jefferson drafters should start their stud without hesitation.

I offered a mid 1st, the 2.01, a mid-to-late 2nd, and Garrett Wilson "and maybe more" for Jefferson, and as expected he said there's just no way to let go of him without a massive overpay. Which is understandable. Doesn't get a lot more valuable than this guy.

That seems a bit light, but I would easily take him at 1.01 without question.

Justin Jefferson caught 12-of-16 targets for 123 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' Week 15 win over the Colts.

Jefferson tied K.J. Osborn for the team lead in targets. Almost all of his production came in the second half and overtime, where Jefferson set up the game field goal on a 13-yard catch. Jefferson's touchdown was a red-zone throw from Kirk Cousins in the fourth quarter. Jefferson has double-digit targets in three straight weeks and has went over 120 yards in his last two. The Giants will try to slow down Jefferson and the Vikings' pass offense in Week 16.

“Has went” is odd to see from a professional writer.

I have never considered the Rotoworld folks to be "professional writers."
