WR Kadarius Toney (2 Viewers)

I'm not a tech guy so pardon me if this isn't helpful:

@32BeatWriters on Twitter is a really great FF resource.

There is video posted there from Rob Collins ( @RCFOXFORKC on Twitter ) of Kadarius Toney practicing today. Doing punt return drills, I believe.

Here's a player on the FA waiver in two of my leagues. After two good games last year he got attention and then fizzled with injuries. Now he gets another opportunity. Gosh, a former #1 draft pick you'd think deserves a look on the bench, eh? I may pick him up for J Williams, DET who likely won't play until week 12 at the earliest, perhaps week 13 and he still might not be ready and the Lions may to be cautious. If Toney gets worked in for 12-15 plays and comes out looking okay, then perhaps keep him, otherwise George Pickens is also available on a bye. This is my WR #4 that may see the starting roster if the injury bug bites again. Kupp, Higgins, C Samuel, and one more (J Williiams, Toney, or Pickens) moving forward. Or I could jump right to Pickens cuz someone else may jump while PIT is on a bye. Oh, I see Lazard comes available tomorrow.

To Toney or not to Toney?

Edit: I'm also not seeing him ranked in the WR ROS rankings? Hmm. I looked up and down that list a few times. Is that true, or am I just Smokin'? In the weekly rankings he's like WR #92 or so. Still gets a 0.00 from some rankers. Chiefs incest he will be worked in some. Gotta think he's worth 4-6 points or so on Sunday night. Catch 2-3 balls and perhaps a handoff?

Perhaps the key word is "might." Will he see the field on Sunday night?

Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney might make his debut with the team in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans, head coach Andy Reid said on Wednesday, Nov. 2. 'We'll try to work him in,' Reid said. 'He picks things up fairly easily.'

The Chiefs have insisted that they'll work Toney into the offense. That means he could see a limited snap count as he continues to get up to speed in the offense. The former first-round pick (Giants) gets a fresh start on one of the best offenses in the league. That's worth taking a flier on if he's out there on the waiver wire. Don't start him as anything more than a 'what the heck' flex, but there's upside for him to be more when up to speed in their system.

its hard to start him this week and probably any week moving forward....but that is pretty much the case with almost any KC WR.....or any player not named Mahomes or Kelce....any of them could throw up a 3 point week....or help win you a week on one single play.....you'll never know.....Mahomes told us as much before the season started....if you are top heavy at WR1 and WR2.....any of the KC WR's could slot in as a WR3 or flex option.....but you know you are totally rolling the dice....hell Hardman's big week was probably on most owner's bench....then if you chased the points you are probably going to be disappointed....

I will admit, other then noticing his couple of big weeks last year (all w/o a TD)....I haven't followed him much because he has either been hurt or in the doghouse....

The way I look at it moving forward is I think Reid and the Chiefs really take a look at their upcoming matchup and find things they can exploit....either downfield or screens or on jet sweeps or whatever... and then they gameplan/dial up specific individual plays for particular guys.....and these plays are usually pretty successful....problem is, we don't have the luxury to know who it is going to be ahead of time....its kind of a "you can't complain if you start one of them and get a goose egg" mentality.....and if you do make the right call....at this point you aren't really a FF savant.....you just got lucky...

now if it becomes obvious he comes in with a more alpha dog mentality and KC uses him that way....then obviously things may change....but I just don't see that happening....and it's pretty much throw Hardman/MVS/Toney into a hat and pick one......JuJu is a little bit different but not much...I do think Toney's ability overall is an upgrade over Hardman/MVS...

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he expects Kadarius Toney to play in Week 9 against the Titans.

Toney is off the injury report for the first time in nearly two months. The only thing holding him back from suiting would be his short turnaround to learn a new playbook. Though he will likely play a limited role, Reid has said there will be some plays designed for him on Sunday. Toney is a risky start this week, but with six teams on bye, he registers as a WR4/5.

Had to drop him (again) to pick up Fields. Not happy about that but he is outclassed by the rest of my bench (look at me).

If anyone has bench space, he’s a must add. Probably nothing noteworthy right away but could be a great piece for playoffs.

Starting him this week seems a little silly

Color me all Crazy Eddie then. Starting for the same reason I'm starting Damiere Byrd in my lineup. This has been a season of horrors, frankly.
Was about to say it's relative to your options. I'd phrase Toney as a bad, weak, desperation, hail mary type of start but that's the road some of us have to go down this week. I have him in I think 7 leagues and one of them, even with a 10 man bench, it's down to him and Mattison as my only active players for my last flex spot so I'm going Toney.

Very much in agreement. He's not a good start, but on one particular team I have in a sixteen-team league, I've held him all year because there was no better upside and now I'm forced to start him due to bye weeks. Oof. It's all about your options, as you noted.

16 team league…that is where I would expect him to be considered. Could he have a good week?….sure. However this is an offense where no receiver has been real consistent with point production, he is new to the team, doesn’t have a lot of chemistry with the QB, will probably be on limited snaps, and hasn’t played competitive football since week 2.

This is a good start IMO. Great offense and scheme plays for him game 1. Now it will depend on how he does with those plays. If he does great, he’ll get more quickly. As far as this weekend, I’d be surprised if he got 8 pts….I’d be thrilled if he did better.

In large leagues with deep benches he must be added now. Starting him This week seems risky though. In 10 team leagues with short benches, he’s not getting picked up.

Another week on the team, no hardman, maybe a WTH flex play? I’m thinking of doing it over Gabe Davis currently.

With Hardman out and my team fledgling, I picked him up as a flyer.

I don't think I'll start him since I also have MVS (safer bet for KC's offense w/ Hardman out IMO) and Peoples-Jones slotted as my WR3.

But if Hardman misses significant time down the stretch Toney could be a nice piece to have as he gets more familiar with the offense.

McKinnon is out as well
Unless you know something I don't he's ?
I'll see if I can find the tweet again but although he is listed as questionable the tweet said he was expected to miss the game

Saw it as well
Thanks for confirming I'm not imagining things but I can't seem to find where I saw it. Maybe I'm going crazy in my old age.

I think the “out” part might have just been speculation since it was a late in the week development. I saw the initial report on Rotoworld.

Sent offers out for him this week, didn’t get anything done, might be too late. Just ‘feels’ like he has Tyreek like upside if the cards fall correctly and it was worth the risk if he found he had for a 2nd in dynasty imo

3 catches on a day where Juju left hurt and Hardman didn’t play. I think I’m going to try to trade him in a league where I’m actually dying at wr

Kadarius Toney caught 4-of-5 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' Week 10 win over the Jaguars.

Toney also rushed two times for 33 yards. After playing a limited role in his Week 9 debut with the Chiefs, Toney's responsibilities were overhauled versus the Jags. This was partially due to JuJu Smith-Schuster leaving the game in the first half with a concussion, but Toney also appeared to be in the Chiefs' plans more regardless of the injury. He made a handful of highlight plays including a sideline catch that saw him elevate over a defender for the snag. The touchdown reception was the first of his career. Toney will look to stay involved and sustain his WR2 fantasy numbers in Week 11 against the Chargers.

What do you think you'll get?

Oh we back ya'll. Looking like a legit difference maker playing in this offense. Guess its was the Giants afterall- they cannot develop receivers these days.

It feels like anything could happen once he gets the ball in his hands, no matter where he is on the field or how many defenders are around him. He is the true definition of electric.
