WR Kadarius Toney (3 Viewers)

Sat waddle for him lol. Oh well. I hope this guy gets right and comes back soon rather than struggle with injuries through the year.

From a dynasty perspective this guy looks great. Just hope he can stay on the field as there are a couple of worries.

any word on his that ankle is? He looked like the best player in the league for the first few passes he caught... on pace for a monster game just PPR...hope he's alright... They were ready to feed him 15+ targets yesterday

Let's say you are re-ranking rookie WR's based on what you know today. Were you put Toney?

For me would be between 2 and 3, him or Devonta but gun to my head would put him at 3. I do think on pure talent he looks as good as any WR in the class but I think stuff going on around him is going to be a thing. So I can't put him on Chase level, especially with the QB pairing. Devonta seems as clean off the field as you could want and will likely explode in time when a QB upgrade is made.

So for me I'd put him at 3 and I'm not anymore down on Elijah Moore, Waddle, Marshall, Rondale or Batemam as I was back during rookie drafts. And fwiw I had him above the last two back then.

At times I was critical of the quality of this years rookie WR class. Seemed like a few WR1 types but an army of mainly slot guys. I think the group has a lot more upside then I gave it credit.

Considering this is a re-aggravation, I think he's out more in the 4-6 week range than just 2-3 weeks. He relies so much of his cutting ability and in that game it looked like it was just after this hard cut he exacerbated the original injury.

The fourth week is the Giants' Bye, so 5 weeks would be Week 11 @ Tampa Bay.

Man look at that poor DB just crumple to the ground he was faked out so badly.

The New York Daily News' Pat Leonard reports Kadarius Toney's ankle injury could be "more serious than a simple sprain."

Toney was in obvious pain on the sideline last week after aggravating the right ankle injury he picked up in Week 5 against Dallas. He left the Giants' Week 6 loss in the first quarter and did not return. Leonard said Toney would likely be out for Week 7 against Carolina, along with Kenny Golladay (knee). Sterling Shepard last week resumed his duties as a target vacuum with Toney sidelined, catching 10 of 14 targets for 76 yards against the Rams. He would be a weekly candidate for double digit targets for as long as Toney is out. Fantasy managers should roster Toney -- who had established himself as the team's alpha receiver -- for as long as possible.

Dang! I blew 20% of my FAAB on him the other week and am now dealing with the Byepocalypse and searching for someone to drop to add a DST...

I really didn't want to drop Toney, but might be forced to if he goes on IR

With all the shenanigans coaches have been pulling with not putting players on IR when they need to, I’m not holding my breath on this one.

The fact there isn’t more definitive info out by now about this, coupled with the fact that he reportedly was seeking a 2nd opinion, makes me think we’ve unfortunately got some bad news on the horizon. I’m hoping it’s no more than a 4 week injury but we’ll see.
3 games til their bye.

they'll sit him till after the bye.so 4 weeks. could be a league winner down the stretch, however.
Got him in two dynasties, 5-1 in both so have buffer. I prefer this scenario. I should make playoffs no matter what, would just love to have Toney ready to lock and load heading into the playoff stretch. Have a feeling I'm gonna need the cavalry.

I’ve never seen so much conflicting info on an injury.  What the hell is going on out there?
Nobody actually knows and they're all talking out of their ###es?

Good lesson for any time you're trying to read the tea leaves on a player's injury. No one knows nuthin'

No one knows nuthin'

This.

Two things we know:

1. He thrives on his quick feet. His ankle needs some healing time to prevent reaggravation. We just don't know what "some" is. I would guess 2-4 weeks.

2. This guy has shown intriguing upside, even on a bad team. Definite hold, if at all possible. Could have Beckham Jr. upside down the stretch, circa 2017.

I have no idea how he's out a week if he re-aggravated his previous ankle injury. Either he somehow didn't re-aggravate it or his original injury wasn't really to his ankle. Nobody re-injuries the same body part that they missed time in that short time frame and somehow get back quicker.

Somebody is playing games here and that 2nd opinion makes me think he's trying to cheat his timeline.

Something that just occurred to me: On the one hand, the move that he pulled off on the play where he aggravated the injury shows he still has those quick feet even when he's hurt.

On the other hand, he aggravated the injury on the play, which suggests he may need to be more careful going forward. As much as I'd love to have him back by next week, I agree that they'll probably wait until he's fully healed

even after the move he seemed absolutely fine running during the play.  It seems he stuck his foot in the turf as he went out of bounds.

Ah, hadn't realized that. Still, I think my broader point holds: He doesn't need to be 100% to do what he does, but at the same time they'll probably play it safe with him going forward.

Kadarius Toney (ankle) will not practice Wednesday.

Per SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, Toney is expected to miss 1-2 games but is not expected to be placed on injured reserve. Toney appeared to be in the middle of a major breakout, and fantasy managers should hold onto the rookie wide receiver during his absence. Toney leads the Giants with an elite 2.94 yards per route run.

Kadarius Toney (ankle) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice.

Kenny Golladay (knee), Saquon Barkley (ankle), and Toney are not expected to play after back-to-back missed practices. Dante Pettis could again be forced into the slot out of necessity pending John Ross' (hamstring) and Darius Slayton's (hamstring) statuses on the final injury report. Sterling Shepard, who has led the team in target share in every game he's finished this year, is the only Giants receiver worth trusting for fantasy.

This is just a weird situation... I have seen sites clarify a low-ankle sprain and probably nullifies my earlier timeline, but even a re-aggravation of a low ankle sprain can take 3 weeks to heal. The man could barely get to the sidelines last Sundday and was distraught... As a Giants fan I say Giants should have IR'd him for his own good; the season is basically done now.

I hear ya

I've got 3 IR spots - filled with CMC, CEH and Kareem Hunt

Jerry Jeudy is also on IR but on my active roster, and Toney is also on my active roster but will stay even if he gets marked as Out.  Only 3 other bench spots, and all 3 of them are on Bye.

The main thing that makes it easy to hold on is there's nobody on the WW I am itching to pick up this week.

Kadarius Toney (ankle) was ruled out for Week 8 against the Panthers.

Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Kenny Golladay (knee) were also ruled out after all three failed to participate in practice at any point throughout the week. With none placed on injured reserve just yet, it's possible all have a chance to return in Week 9 against the Chiefs. It's an ongoing situation to monitor as Dante Pettis and Collin Johnson are currently the only two wide receivers on the active roster guaranteed to suit up in Week 8.

If any of you drop this stud, shame on you. Just take the empty starting roster spot or drop a kicker / defense

Basically giving a WR1 when healthy to an opposing leaguemate
