WR Keenan Allen, LAC (2 Viewers)

I'm so sorry guys, MOP is just not himself tonight, kind of bummed about the Phins and just an overall crappy day in FF, no one needs feel sorry for me but I just wanted to throw a couple jabs but I probably picked the wrong thread. i do want to write a thread on all the rookie WRs and their long term prospects but that has nothing to do with this thread.

Appreciate the check raise guys, have a good one.
Respect. Takes a good person to admit a mistake and post about it.
Was just about to post the exact same thing.

That said, you really can't complain about 3 for 67 in the first 1.5 quarters. Then he went out for a good chunk of the game and came back in later. If he isn't molested on one of those two RZ targets and stays in the whole game. We're probably looking at a 3rd straight week of 100+ yards and a TD. With that said, still strongly buying Allen as a WR2 w/ WR1 upside going forward.

^^^Deangelo Hall actually hasn't been horrible, at least in the 'Skins games I've watched. I'd think he would cover Keenan

Hall has definitely gotten better, but the WRs are still putting up good numbers against him outside of Dez Bryant and that's because Dallas didn't need much offense against us. Calvin had a TD, Marshall had 6 for 75, and I believe Denarius Moore had a TD. Now they may not have all been on Hall, but I don't think I'd get too worried. This coming from a Skins fan.

Keenan Allen has drawn the admiration of Chargers veterans for his quick ascension into a featured offensive role.
"I knew he was good, but I've never seen this," said future HOFer Antonio Gates. "I didn't think it would evolve this fast. He is making plays in the game, and I'm like, 'Wow.' ... The boy can play football, and he can get open." Added Philip Rivers, "I say this: It's been impressive what he's done, but he can be even better." Lock in Allen as a Week 9 WR2 against the Redskins.

Sick move to get open for that TD. I know he's had some drops today....but that was a veteran-level move. This kid is gonna be really, really good.

Nice game for Allen today. 28.8 points. I have a real dilemma on my hands after the byes. Will have to choose between Megatron, Dez Bryant, Josh Gordon, and Keenan Allen for 3 spots. At least Gordon is on bye this week and then Dez the week after so it will be a little easier to choose.

It looked bad early but 26+ and now we got overtime. He might break 30 today. Wouldn't mind a 70 yrd TD strike to end the game.
I was crossing my fingers hoping this game would go into overtime.

30 points would be great for me. He only needs one more decent catch to get there.

I think Allen is at the point of being unbenchable.:

25.5

27.7

9.7

28.8

Those are his last 4 games. It's pretty damn tough to put that one your bench.

One hell of a waiver pick up

He is absolutely unbenchable for me. He was pretty close to that before this week's game, but now he's an every week starter. I'd imagine many in a 12 team league would say the same.

Twitter feed said on the 4th down Rivers threw a bad pass and it should have been another long TD for Allen.

Id deal Gordon.

Or save for depth. It's been one of those seasons.

Keenan Allen appears to be the most valuable fantasy rookie wideout by a good margin at this point right? Anyone close? Hopkins maybe?

Yep, had him, Z Stacey and Foles in my lineup with A. Ellington on bye, all wire guys. I've always said the draft is just the start of the season, you win a championship through the wire.

Yeah, there were a couple plays where he absolutely toasted Amerson, including the TD catch. Amerson isn't a great or even very good CB yet, but he's got some great attributes and has been playing smart, so he's not just any schmuck.

I'd put Amerson in the pretty good corner level. He's a gambler though, likes going for the INT. Allen and Rivers used that against him on the TD pass. Thing of beauty.

It was blown coverage as both corners went with the inside guy. Rivers under threw it a bit, but there was a safety there too. Hard to say.

That's very true, he jumped what he thought was a slant and got burned for it, that's his game. Worked for him earlier in the same game, but still a vet move for Allen on the TD.

Might b the player of this years WW darling that helps win championships
That's looking like Zac Stacy
Could be Ellington, too.
Stacy is a weekly starter...don't think Ellington is at that level. Keenan is going to be a top 3'ish waiver wire/FAAB pickup, methinks, but I agree that Stacy is the lead horse right now.
I agree, he has shown that for a few weeks. Excited to see what Ellington can show, if his dip#### coach would just give him the ball.

My best dynasty draft pick since Cam Newton. I'm all abroad and starting him every week.

He's making my #3 overall choice of Tavon Austin sting less.

What are you studying abroad?

In all seriousness though, yeah I'm really wishing I'd snagged him in dynasty now. I too drafted Tavon at #3 this year and Coradrelle at #5 overall. I'm not feeling as bad about Cordarelle as I am about Tavon though as he hasn't actually had any chance yet. I grabbed him in a few redraft leagues after his 5/80 line several weeks back though and have been having fun ever since.

:lmao: oooof.

Are we ready to call him a must start? I have Garcon and Allen and having trouble deciding between the two every week. This week I started Allen, which ended up being the right choice but it's very hard to choose each week.

He's been a must start for me for at least two weeks now (not counting his bye week). Maybe trade one of the two for an upgrade elsewhere?

Allen is a top-10 WR for ROS, I don't see Garcon as any better than maybe top-20.

I'd start Allen over any WR not named Dez, Megatron, Green, Welker, or Marshall.

DT?

In a keeper league where does Allen stand? What I'm wondering is if he continues on this road, where does he finish? top 10??

He didn't play in week 1 (or if he did, he didn't get any targets).

In weeks 2 & 3, he had a total of 4 targets for 30 yards.

In week 4, he became a starter. He's been top-10 since he became a starter.

Since that point, he has averaged 8.8 targets/game, and has caught 31 of those passes, for an average of 6.2 rec/game. He has also scored 3 TDs in those 5 games. His average YPR has been 16.0.

That works out to 6 catches, 99 yards, and .6 TD/game. Over a 16 game season, that would be 96 catches, 1584 yards, and 10 TDs.

For this season, if you pro-rate his numbers since he's been a starter (then add the 30 yards he had in weeks 1-3), he's on pace for:

81 catches, 1317 yards, and 8 TDs.

Those look like top-10 numbers to me.

I've got Josh Gordon and Keenan Allen in a league, and I can only keep one of them. I decided to stick with Allen and try and move Gordon. Originally it was cause Gordon could get me more and Allen would l cost less to keep, but I'm now thinking Allen will just outproduce Gordon outright. The battle with Vincent Brown is officially over, and Gates will be a year slower next year.

Jumped on the hype train a couple weeks early thanks to FBG's recommendation. Almost makes me forgive them for rating Ginn above Marlon Brown last week.
