Lot of shade in here.
Winning off the line when you get a stutter step, or an inside release, or an outside release, or against a press, or when going in motion. I have yet to see an NFL WR get down in a sprinter's stance and the NFL DB line up right next to him in a sprinter's stance and they both run in a straight line unimpeded.A huge, huge part of football is winning off the line, isn't it?
How many times do players line up in a sprinters start?A huge, huge part of football is winning off the line, isn't it?
This is the key point right here. How will he fair when hes battling NFL corners? I think this guy has a lot of talents and he could keep improving over the next couple years - if he keeps working on his routes.I never liked the way they have them line up, clearly form has a lot to do with it. Some guys are better than others. No, I agree. But is he slow off the line because of the stance or because he's just generally slow off the line?
Just an antiquated thing they have not changed because tradition.
I think the issues still remain as to whether he can get open in the NFL, which would still be true if he ran a 4.4.
It actually meant a little bit more to me how good he was in the guantlet, meantime Troy Franklin looked like a drunk teenage deer wearing high heels.
That's the big question. He doesn't really win with separation created by sharp routes. Lots of contested catches due to strong hands and his size. This is the key point right here. The vertical is solid, the broad jump is very good and you can see the athleticism and power he has. How are the routes and how will that translate in the NFL?
I dunno where he ends up.At his size that is not something to be ignored. He'll be a good value pick for someone at the back of the 1st/early 2nd I think.
Back of the 1st/early 2nd was in reference to fantasy rookie drafts.I dunno where he ends up.

Keon Coleman is a WR prospect in the 2024 draft class. He scored a 8.10 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 607 out of 3188 WR from 1987 to 2024.

Opinions are wide on Keon Coleman. Ran just a 4.61, but reached 20.3 mph during the Gauntlet drill, the fastest among WRs. Biggest question is how well can he separate at the next level? This guy’s catch radius is insane.

whose idea was it to make 6'3/213 lbs Keon Coleman FSU's screen guy?
Had 20 screen targets last season. No other WR had more than 5.
Keon Coleman's contested catch numbers were really poor on paper last season
Stemmed from a rough start, IMO
Games 2, 3, 4 (SoMiss, BC, Clemson), he saw 10 contested targets.
Only won 1. And actually, those opps were more winnable than forced targets later in the season.

Are people sleeping on Keon Coleman?
“His burst, top speed and leaping ability are All-Pro caliber.” - Trevor Sikkema on Keon Coleman
Projecting him to the Bills specifically forces me to remember the atomic bust of a pick that was James Hardy (RIP).

Who could be the surprise names that sneak into the bottom of Round 1 when the 2024 NFL Draft kicks off Thursday night? My annual exercise is here:
One name to watch: Florida State WR Keon Coleman, who quietly was among the busiest players during the pre-draft process with a dozen visits, plus a couple private team workouts.

Despite significant trade interest, the #Bills stick and pick at No. 33: It's WR Keon Coleman from Florida State.
A slow 40 at the Combine took him out of the first round. But scouts had him at 4.53 at his Pro Day, and he plays fast.

Keon Coleman only had 2 drops on 87 targets last season![]()
Makes me think they don't view him as a big slot. It's a weird pairing when they have Kincaid.
And that is unfortunate for them.Makes me think they don't view him as a big slot. It's a weird pairing when they have Kincaid.
Guess I won't be drafting him on my fantasy engineering team. His presser and talking about his jacket was funny. But he comes off as a single digit wonderlic.
That's the big question. If they try and just line him up outside and ask him to beat CB's outside he'll probably struggle. How are the Bills going to use him? They have Kincaid,
I'd take Coleman over all of Worthy, Pearsall, Legette.
I wasn't a huge Coleman guy before the draft. Landing spot is nice, but the separation issues concern me.
He'll probably go higiher than I'm willing to pay for him.
They play differently. It's a weird pairing when they have Kincaid.
I don't think there necessarily needs to be an WR1, as Kincaid may very well be the de factor WR1. While there are certainly a lot more targets to be had with the departure of Diggs and Davis, Samuel will get a fair amount and the team may continue to be more balanced under Joe Brady. What Coleman can hopefully do is be a consistent down the field stretcher.I think this is great for Josh Allen. Coleman can be what they wanted Gabe Davis to be. There are a lot of targets available in this offense. There is a need for a WR1. I'm really surprised more people aren't in on Coleman in BUF.
For those who have done rookie drafts - where do you see Coleman going?
I really like Kincaid but was confused why he didn't get more usage. He was only at 55% or so the last part of the season. I'm assuming that is going up but who knows. BUF offense looked like it was struggling and the one bright light was Kincaid. They could have/should have peppered him with targets but they didn't. I assume his role will grow but there are tons of targets available in this offense with Allen throwing 575 times a year.I don't think there necessarily needs to be an WR1, as Kincaid may very well be the de factor WR1. Have to remember that he was a rookie TE and also had to learn the intricacies of the position. Very few guys are LaPorta out of the gate. By many accounts, Kincaid will be one of - if not the - featured passing game option, with Knox likely to be more of the blocker. But who knows, if Coleman is all that, maybe Kincaid's role stays the same.I really like Kincaid but was confused why he didn't get more usage. He was only at 55% or so the last part of the season.
