WR Kevin White, NO (1 Viewer)

Fair, just wondering how you would divy up the 96 CM targets.
i dont get kevin white, he shows nothing special. he doesn't run precise routes, he doesnt get separation, he doesnt use his size to get body position and win contested jump balls. i dont get it, he looks ordinary. worth keeping an eye on but not rosterable.

i dont see any chicago WR being a consistent WR3ish player.

He hasn't done much yet but come on, today he actually gave owners a little hope. That pass he caught In The end zone that they called PI on was a nice catch, and he did make several nice catches despite a drop or two.

Now or never for him
Seriously - the Bears are 0-0. There is so much negativity and I'm not sure it's entirely necessary. What the Bears do need is someone to lean on besides Howard. White should be that guy. Glennon is a clean slate, so will Trubisky when he gets out there.

This is the CHI WR lineup:

White

Wright

Wheaton (hurt?)

Cruz

Thompson

Gentry

Titus Davis

Over the last two decades, six first-round receivers have caught fewer than 20 passes through their first two NFL seasons: Yatil Green, R. Jay Soward, A.J. Jenkins, Rashaun Woods, Marcus Nash, and White. The Chicago Tribune reported White had to re-align his stride after two catastrophic injuries to the same leg, while there have been whispers White still struggles to run routes. The Bears force fed White nine targets per game in Weeks 1-4 last year, but he averaged an anemic 5.19 yards per target and appeared far slower on tape than his 4.35 pre-draft speed would suggest.
- RW, June.

I'm not convinced. There are other more experienced WRs on that roster. As an example, I considered dropping Meredith for White, but decided to wait a day. In the intervening time, the Robbie Anderson owner has dropped him for White. I'll be more than happy to scoop up Anderson and drop Meredith now, as at least Anderson has little competition and seems locked in for a ton of targets

That's actually a pretty sweet move by you.

I don't think Cruz is gonna make the team. Wheaton (appendectomy, fractured pinkie) should be ready by week 1. Gentry has had the best camp of the group, by a considerable margin. Everyone assumes White has to step up and be the #1 but I have doubts. Wright was a PPR monster 4 years ago, maybe the change of scenery will do him good. Davis & Thompson have ST value (& probably means Bellamy is toast) but irrelevant for FF purposes.

The nicest thing you could say about the Bears WRs is they're not as bad as the Bills or Jets. Maybe.

This is what I think. Reckon Wright will end up being the 'good' play here

The pure dismissivness of White reminds me a lot of the SP on early 2016 Ajayi. Last time I went with the herd and traded Ajayi for nothing.

This time I'm gonna hold.

That was a wild ride. I was feeling pretty lonely on the Jay Train for awhile there. Even the Dolphins fans were telling me he was no good.

It is a dude that I would listen to when it comes to the Bears.

I'm a Bears homer and I think Kendall Wright is going to be the guy here (if you actually want a Bears receiver).

Always ignore the noise.

Kevin White went to the locker room with a shoulder injury in the Bears' Week 1 game versus Atlanta.

He's done for the day. White came out holding his arm after a catch, went into the injury tent, and emerged only to head to the locker room. Before departing, White caught two passes for six yards on four targets. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, this is just White's fifth NFL game.

Any word yet on how serious this is?  I've been holding on to him since he was drafted and thought this was finally his year.  Oof.

Bears WR Kevin White left the facility with his shoulder wrapped, arm in a sling, while holding his wrist with this non-injured hand.

I'm hearing IR for year. Feel for the kid but I'd be lying if I said it won't be a satisfying Wednesday morning transaction.

I'm thinking Bellamy is the play for 2017.

Bears placed WR Kevin White on injured reserve with a fractured scapula, ending his season.

White has a broken shoulder blade, and could require surgery. It's his third season-ending injury in as many NFL campaigns. He will head into 2018 having made five career appearances, one of which came after Oct. 1 (last Oct. 2). White turns 26 next June. To say he's at a career crossroads would be putting it mildly. The Bears will attempt to move forward with Kendall Wright, Markus Wheaton and Deonte Thompson as their top three receivers. Rookie RB Tarik Cohen will be a weekly threat to lead the team in targets.

The only reason why David Terrell would rank as a more significant draft bust at WR for the Bears is that theoretically Kevin White could still make a comeback from this disastrous start to his career regardless of how unlikely that scenario seems right now.

This guy is on track to be one of the biggest FF busts ever. I can't remember too many other NFL first round picks who were more disappointing. Trent Richardson's career was garbage, but his rookie year was good in FF, especially in PPR. Justin Blackmon ruined his career, but...when he played, he was actually good. He helped win leagues in the 2012 FF playoffs. White is rivaling the likes of Rashaun Woods and Troy Williamson for uselessness.

The sick thing is that if you spent rookie picks on him, you still kinda have to keep him because he's played so little, we don't know for sure if he's any good.

I guess it depends on how we define it, but I think I would still put Richardson well above him (even with the one year of fantasy usefulness) on the bust list because of what people were spending to get him.  Kevin White was never really more valuable than the consensus 1.02 - 1.04 rookie pick, which is a price people have paid for busts many many times.  With Richardson there were times where people were mortgaging their entire teams future on him.  You probably couldn't have gotten him for the 1.02, 1.03, AND 1.04 picks at his height.

Hard to compare White to any past busts.  White wasn't a bust because he was a terrible NFL player, he was terrible because he couldn't actually play due to health.  I've never seen anything this.
