WR Mike Evans, TB (4 Viewers)

If you woulda told me in August that I would be going into the Sunday night game in the playoffs with a 20 point lead and Evans to go against his witten and Djax I would have said easy win...now I'm a little scared. just please Evans score some points tommorrow

in one of my dynos i have a 4.5 pt lead (to play for the ship) and my opponent is done, i have evans and i really want to just bench him but silly constitution wont allow for such d baggery

Brate, OJ Howard AND Djax hurting on a short week. This guy is going to get 20 targets like last years fantasy playoffs right?

Brate came back in and played last night. I assume hell be fine-- which is probably a good thing. Evans was seeing 2-3 guys the whole second half after Djax and howard broke (didnt stop him on his td)

No way I can't start him in the finals-- probably sitting Larry Fitz

That BS offensive PI, is everything that's wrong w the NFL

What a joke
Julio did the exact same thing to Tampa's safety in the first meeting on that jump ball from Sanu.  Pushed him right in the back to gain separation.  Probably even more blatant.  TD in that game.  Offensive PI in this one.

I thought his first offensive PI where he kind of did a swim move on trufant was a really really bad call.

Last night's performance aside - is it possible this guy won't be worth a top-10 WR pick next year? One year after going top 10 overall?

I'd have laughed at the notion three months ago but ... there's no way he goes before AB, OBJ, Nuk, Julio, Green, or Thomas (unless Brees retires). I think you have to put Adams in that tier now too, right?

That leaves Evans in a jumble with the likes of Allen, Cooks, Hill, and Jeffery. Depending on how the QB situations on those teams shake out you could make a case for any or all of them over Evans as we stand today.

I love the guy, have since Day 1, but I don't see much refinement happening in his game and Winston is, if anything, regressing. Doesn't give me a huge amount of optimism heading into 2018.

If you're talking re draft, I would still disagree but I would understand. People were saying the same thing about Gurley and Nuk last year. The talent isnt the question, the situation is (like gurley and Nuk), I say be patient. He has shown he can produce even when Winston isnt dropping dimes, just need to get winston right and gel as a squad more imo

I'd agree he probably doesn't go before most of them that you listed. Adams is close depends if he stays and jordy or Cobb leave because then he is in one of the best fantasy spots. In PPR I'd say Allen could be put ahead of him now as well and I while I wouldn't blame you for not taking him top 10 I think he could also be one of the best bargains there.

I stand by something I believe I said last year.  I believe that if there is one WR in football that can come close to being as dominant and putting up a year that could rival Calvin Johnsons recording breaking one or a WR that could hit 20 TDs that it would be Evans. I was happy with the Bucs hiring of Koetter because I figured it would help jameis since it usually isn't good for a second year QB to have to learn new stuff but now I'm ready for him to leave so the next guy can actually use his superstar WR

I'm still going to look to trade him in the off season. I also want to move Diggs. May even move Fournette, but only if I ca land someone like Gurley.

Except I didn't buy high on anyone. ;)
I was referring to if you were purchasing Gurley. I think Evans is a definite hold unless he finishes on a tear. I also believe Diggs has more production than he has shown this year. Simply put I don't believe either is a good sell at their current values (although I understand the frustration of owning them).

Oh, ok. Well, if Bradford never comes back or Keenum stays or Teddy comes back, I don't see Diggs living up to past glory.

I'll only sell if I can replace them with quality starting talent.

Buccaneers WR Mike Evans was not officially targeted in Friday's preseason game versus the Lions.

Evans played just a pair of drives on Friday night. His lone opportunity came on a 22-yard catch down the sideline which was negated as he was flagged for offensive pass interference. On the play, Evans took a hit to the lower back from Quandre Diggs that shook him up. Tampa Bay cited that Evans was fine, but removed him from the game as a precautionary measure. Evans has four consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons to start his career, joining Randy Moss as the only two wideouts to every do that before turning age 25. Evans’ weekly ceiling should rebound with touchdown uptick as he converted just 1-of-9 targets inside of the 10-yard line for scores a year ago, but with so much offensive talent surrounding him on the Tampa Bay offense, Evans’ target share should keep him in the 80-catch range rather than returning to the 96-catch player he was two years ago and a fringe WR1 for fantasy purposes.

I just heard Waldman predict that Chris Godwin will score more TDs and than Mike Evans this season. I see posts in this thread where owners are recommending trading Evans for Jerick McKinnon in dynasty? To me the hate on Evans has gone way too far. I'm seeing him slip deeper and deeper into the third round in drafts. Anyone else think he's one of this year's best values?

Got him in the 3rd, and own him in dynasty.

Would take a TON to get him from me, ppl are ridiculous.

Isnt he only the 2nd player to have 4 consecutive 1000yd seasons at his age?

I think he will be fine. I took him at the 2/3 turn in redraft this year from the one spot. I did pair him with Tyreek hill, so I think I balanced Evans floor and hill’s ceiling where on a weekly basis one of them should do very well for me.

I'd like to move him & Diggs, but unsure what to ask in PPR dynasty.
I would recommend trying to buy now, or at least prior to week five when Winston comes back.

There’s no questioning his size and ability. I don’t understand the FBG ranking, but I do think Evans is severely underrated this year.

He's rated as WR7, seems more than fair.

The part I don't understand is people not drafting him in the first two rounds.  I have a huge share of him this year because I was consistently getting him in the early/mid 3rd. Ahead of unproven or aging guys like Mixon, Fitz and guys with questionable/new situations like Hilton/Hill.

I'm with Soulfly, I would not be looking to sell in dynasty. It seems like a lot of the downtrend in Evans' ADP is related to the current TB grease fire but I'm not sure that will be a huge hindrance to his production

I agree - dynasty he’s a hold for sure. Good time to buy - terrible time to sell.
