WR Mike Evans, TB (5 Viewers)

Dropped Buden to pick him up in my 14-team non-PPR where I've been scuffling at WR all season (currently have Jamo, BTJ, QJ, Franklin and Pearsall). Would love to have him for the stretch run (assuming I make the playoffs, which is no sure thing). But I do think there's a non-zero chance he's on the downward slope of his career. Also, no one from TB's passing game has really been lighting it up the past few months. Egbuka has fallen off a cliff since his hot start, and the rest (Godwin, Tez, Otton) have flashed here and there but showed nowhere near the consistency you would want to start them with confidence.

Maybe that means there's an opportunity for Evans to come back and resume his alpha dog status. Or maybe it means that the team is still struggling to find its post-Liam Cohen identity and we may not have any startable pass catchers ROS

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Baker and Egbuka haven’t played well in the absence of Evans. They need Evans back to win the division with the Panthers right on their tail. The second place team probably won’t make the playoffs.

Tampa got Godwin and Bucky back and got back to their winning ways. I can see them rallying as they get back in the groove, and Mike Evans just produces when healthy.

They have the sAIN'Ts and the Falcons up next as further 'get right' games.

That's certainly a plausible explanation, and I hope it's the correct one. But I think "Evans is on the decline" and "The Bucs offense is not the wagon it was in the past" are also plausible. Too many people in here seem to be convinced we're getting 2018 Evans the moment he steps back on the field

Practice window opened. Medically cleared. Returning to practice.

Wow. Much faster.

This could be a playoff run gift.

Go get him now!

Meh. Good for the Egbuka Owners maybe.

I'll gladly eat these words if Evans finishes with strong games. I'm rooting for him (with no skin in the game).
Why wouldn't he?

Well, he didn't start off the season very strong, coming off a pretty significant injury (long lay-off), and when he was on the field in 2025 it looked to me like Emeka Egbuka benefitted the most in the passing game... almost like a passing of the torch for red zone looks.

Chris Godwin getting back into the fold as well. He looked very good last week and will have another 1-2 games in action before Evans can get out there (most likely). I think TBB has a TNF game next week (short week). I seriously doubt they are even considering him (Evans) for this week.

It just seems like a lot to overcome in a short amount of time (for 2025 fantasy purposes).

Yes, against Atlanta. So potentially you would only be able to use him for the final two weeks of the playoffs (and that's assuming you're willing to roll him out there in his first game back).

But hell, maybe he comes back this week. That's why he's definitely worth a flier if he's on your WW. Just be aware there are a wide range of outcomes
