It don't think Houston's defense is pretty good and Watson stats the sheets like a mfer and I project him for 40+ touchdowns if he plays. It's him or Cooks, right? Someone has to catch 10+ of these touchdowns that Watson is going to be slinging around. I like the rookie TE as another dark horse to be fantasy relevant. Neither guy will win your league, but you can oversell on hype mid-season.

The Athletic's Aaron Reiss expects WR Nico Collins to "have a chance to contribute right away."

Collins started the Texans' third preseason game over Chris Conley, playing 77% of snaps with Tyrod Taylor and the first-team offense. The Texans moved on from slot WR Keke Coutee at final cuts, further locking in his role. Anthony Miller (shoulder) isn't expected to be ready for Week 1, leaving Collins as the favorite to start on the outside in base sets. Playing in a run-first offense on a team that projects for low-scoring game scripts is working against Collins, but the rookie should see the second most targets behind Brandin Cooks.

I really like him in Dynasty, but in my redraft league with just 6 bench spots I can't afford to draft him. I want to! 

 
Nico Collins caught 1-of-3 targets for seven yards in the Texans' Week 1 win over the Jaguars.

Collins was also involved in a pair of pass inference calls, including a questionable one going against him that would have been a touchdown. The Texans rotated their receivers behind Brandin Cooks, with none of them going over 35 yards. It may take a few weeks for Collins to establish a regular role in the Texans' run-heavy offense, but the talent is there for him to run away with the No. 2 job.

Nico Collins was forced from the Texans’ Week 2 game against the Browns with a shoulder injury and is questionable to return.

Collins had a long RPO-aided slant catch for 32 yards before leaving the game. The Texans now have just four healthy receivers dressed between Brandin Cooks, Chris Conley, Danny Amendola, and returner Andre Roberts. Collins has not gotten off to the kind of start that makes you envision him as a fantasy difference-maker this year, but the opportunity will remain if he's healthy.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Texans WR Nico Collins (shoulder) is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.

Collins earned his first start last week and picked up 32 yards on his lone target before exiting the game. The Texans have looked Brandin Cooks' way 21 times through two weeks and the loss of Collins will only further his gaudy target numbers. Danny Amendola and Chris Conley will start in three-receiver sets with Collins out. Both players have been held under 50 yards through two weeks and neither projects to be fantasy-relevant even with a larger role.

Texans placed WR Nico Collins (shoulder) on injured reserve.

Collins registered a 32-yard catch in his first career start against Cleveland before exiting the game. He'll be sidelined with Tyrod Taylor (hamstring, IR) for the team's next three contests against Carolina (Thursday night), Buffalo, and New England. With Danny Amendola also expected to miss the next 2-3 games, Houston will lean on Brandin Cooks, Chris Conley, and Andre Roberts in three-wide sets from third-round rookie Davis Mills. None outside of Cooks are viable fantasy plays.

Texans WR Nico Collins (shoulder) returned to practice Wednesday.

The Texans have designated Collins to return from injured reserve, giving him a 21-day window to be activated. Collins was placed on injured reserve after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 2. He was expected to miss 3-4 weeks because of the issue so it's possible that he remains out for another week. Brandin Cooks should continue to be the only receiver worth trusting on the Texans' roster.

Do you see the Texans being a 250 yard and 2 TD consistent average per game?

I only see Goff level stats or worse for the Texans offense unless Tyrod has a great year 

 
Nico Collins caught 4-of-6 passes for 44 yards in Houston's Week 6 loss to Indianapolis. 

Collins tied for second on the team in targets behind Brandin Cooks and looked good in his return, picking up a few first downs. It should be noted that Chris Conley (neck) missed some time in this game and that the Texans will not throw this often unless they are getting destroyed. Still, Collins all of the sudden has a little WR4/5 appeal as a bye week dart throw. Week 7 brings Houston to Arizona against some beatable cornerbacks.

Yeah probably about that. I don't disagree. Mills has been targeting his WRs pretty heavy, and they are always in come back mode. But he is basically a dynasty stash for me. I have him on many competitive squads but needed to figure out how to make room in some spots to come off IR.

In redraft I'd have to be pretty desperate. But I am and have been in a couple spots. I put up some 0s yesterday on teams just obliterated at WR. If I know Nico is lining up across from Cooks I might throw him into my lineup in redraft. And no I don't know that yet. But I thought it was at least encouraging that the drumbeat was steady throughout the offseason and then he started right away, but then even though he got hurt, he was immediately involved in his first game back. And as a rookie and all that. But really again, just a desperation play. Those teams that put up 0s are probably toast anyway. And my really good redraft teams have first world problems. But byes are *just* getting started. I will probably be tempted to put him in some desperate spots.

IDK even know how bad week 7 is going to be for me at WR but I'm guessing bad.

 
If you own Nico in redraft and have the room, I would hold.Don’t give your unprepared league mates a layup to cover their bye.

I usually only carry 4-5 WRs (start 3 + 1 Flex.) No fat on that part of the roster. I always have 8, 9, or 10 RBs. Try to carry one each of QB, TE, K or DST until their bye. I’m not holding Javonte or Carter or McKissic (full PPR) as injury insurance or thinking they’re a lottery ticket. I’m mostly just blocking the rest of my league from a viable option.

Collins is not startable for most. But hold him if you can bc he will have random TDs and you don’t want to let others have even a what the heck Flex laying on the WW. My league is 18x12, probably not possible for shorter benches

Nico Collins (ankle) was a surprise add to the injury report on Thursday and was officially limited. 

Collins was tied for second on the Texans in targets against the Colts in Week 6 while Chris Conley (neck) was in-and-out with his own injury. Collins seems to have better rapport with Davis Mills than Conley, and he did still practice in a limited capacity. Stay tuned for the Friday report but Collins is probably the better desperation WR4/5 play if nothing changes from here.

Texans WR Nico Collins (hip) is listed as questionable for Week 12 against the Jets.

Collins was a late addition to the injury report, getting in a limited practice Friday. Injuries have been a problem all year for Collins, who missed Weeks 3-5 on IR, though his latest one doesn't look too serious. Chris Conley and Danny Amendola would see a bump in targets if Collins sits.

Yeah I liked what I saw coming into last year, I liked what I saw when he was on the field as a rookie, and I like his outlook for 2022. I suffer from 2nd year WR syndrome, but I do have cautious optimism about this guy. In dynasty FFPC I have 11 shares and I think that maybe 2 of them will be in situations where it will be difficult to roster him into week 1. The rest should be safe stashes for now.

If you go robust RB or if you need a WR in redraft, I do like him. I have also grabbed the Nico/Mills stack late in BB drafts where I have whiffed on better 2nd stacks or maybe decided to grab a cheap 3rd stack late.

 
Texans QB Davis Mills said WR Nico Collins has a “good grasp of the offense.”

The second-year quarterback made note of Collins' talent and said Houston needs to “find ways to get him the ball.” Collins had the most targets (62) and yards (446) behind Brandin Cooks as a rookie while missing three games and playing under 60 percent of offensive snaps. The Texans did nothing that would block Collins this offseason, re-signing Chris Conley and adding second-round WR John Metchie. Collins' ceiling is limited in a run-first offense with an unproven quarterback, but there are makings for a Year 2 leap.

I think Nico is the only one with size and will maintain a solid outside role because of it. Metchie will be looking to eventually be the new Cooks. My best guess anyway.

 
With Metchie unfortunately out of the picture for now, I am targeting Nico as a WR5 or WR6 in my keeper league. I really like the guys with the size/speed/youth combination he has. Cooks will still be there at least two more years, but there is room for both.
 
He had another catch about 10 yards downfield that he turned upfield and fought through tackles for probably another 5 yards. Sure, it's pre-season. But he's huge and fast. He wins jump balls. After Brandin Cooks, the Texans have no proven pass catchers. The Texans will be playing from behind a lot and throwing a lot. I've always been a dynasty fan. I'm a lot more interested for redraft after watching him last night. Unless his ADP hops on a rocket ship, he should easily outperform it.
 
Can we add him to the list of players that you wish folks would keep quiet about. Have him in a lot of best ball this year, trying to keep him cheap.

I'm at 27% exposure on Underdog thru 93 bestballs. I don't mind going as high as 30% or so on players I like. So I guess I could use some more but his price has already gone way up. I was getting most of this 27% in the 15th-18th rounds. He is more like 10/11/12th now.

Pierce, Collins, Mills, Cooks. Feel like this team has so many 'sleepers' that they're going to have to have a top 20 offense to support them all as such.
 
Collins starting to get some love over at CBS sports. Their 3 main guys have him up to WR39, 42 and 54 in their full point PPR rankings.

I really like Mills this year, so I have been grabbing Collins in the later rounds in FBG/FFPC drafts. But price has gone up a lot since Menchie got hurt. 16/17 and now into the 10th round range.

Big, fast and smooth after the catch. Good combo
