WR Nico Collins, HOU (2 Viewers)

I think the moral of the story is don't be the leading WR in the league or you're going to get injured.

Should have kept Noah Brown. He was the best option to replace Nico and keep the offense the same.

Then again, maybe the offense needs to change so Slowik can remember they have Tank Dell.
not reliable can't stay healthy was never about his talent he's missed time in Washington. Missed 2 games already and still questionable.

I'll never understand why they kept Woods and Metchie over him. Must have been something internally we're not seeing.
Can't stay healthy not talent related. already missed 2 games this year and possibly 3

The reason is Hutchinson. He is the guy you should be picking up.

Meh. Seen him a bunch. He's just ok IMO. But guess we'll see. Brown had a couple of monster games filling in for Nico last year. And they seem to like a guy with that size at the X.

Brown is 6-2, 225 and Hutch is 6-3, 210. Not much different in size so I assume Hutch will be given that shot. I thought he has looked solid in his few opportunities. I think he is worth an add to see what happens.

I agree. Went ahead and added him cheap to see what happens. I've been wrong before.

What’s his trade value right now in redraft? Owners with bad records may need to sell. As much as I'd love to have Nico, I dunno. He still has a bye in week 14. So you’d miss him at least 3 weeks. He also faces the #1 (Miami) #4 (KC) and #5 (TN) pass defenses. Week 10 is Detroit (30th), week 13 is Jax (29) and week 17 is Baltimore (30) so he'll have a few monster games. Of course he could be matchup proof. Taking into account 3 lost weeks plus the matchups above what is ballpark fair compensation from a WR perspective - assuming the owner needs to win now

Aaron Wilson

#Texans WR1 Nico Collins has passed all tests for hamstring, no setbacks, per league sources, regained speed, mobility, ready to go. Matter of when, not if he'll be designated for return. Team still determining if activating him for #Lions game. Might not practice today.
@KPRC2

Seems weird to not activate him, if he is ready to go, wouldn't you want your best offensive weapon availbale for a huge game against the Lions.

The fact he is not practicing could mean they are still nervous about it regardless of what this reporter is saying...also, they are in a weak division with a 2-game lead (actually more since they have two wins against the Colts) which means they have a little cushion to play the long-game if they do have concerns...I have Collins and hope he plays this weekend but I also don't want him to reinjure it and be done for the season.

Well this sucks. I thought there was an update he was good like 2 weeks ago? Either the injury is way worse than they thought or they're being ultra-cautious with him since they can probably win the division without breaking sweat. Either way, sucks for us fantasy shareholders.

I understand this perfectly. They’re sitting pretty in the division. Diggs is done for the year. If they’re going to make any noise whatsoever they need a healthy Collins. One more week is one more week to miss a game they’re likely to get trucked in regardless. Why risk a gimpy Collins? In fact, depending on who they play next week, you might as well make it two. Nico has had issues in the past. He was red flagged by at least one of the FF doctors (Mueller, who was just on J.J. Zachariason’s show) as an injury risk.

He might even be a sell-high in dynasty no matter how good you think he is. (And he is excellent.)

HOU is @dallas next week, then home against TENN and @Jax before their Bye. An easier stretch but not gimme's with how they've been playing. I definitely agree they probably don't want to risk anything with Nico and are thinking preserve him as much as they can.

I was being somewhat hyperbolic about the next week thing. I don’t think you sit him if he’s fully ready to go. But if he’s still tender then I think you have to think about it. I generally watch four games (quadro box) on my television screen. Houston is often one of those teams.

I think they’re light years different when Nico is on the field. Diggs running the precision intermediate/shallow routes while Nico ran intermediate/deep routes was working so well for them. They look like a different offensive unit without them. Texans homers probably know better than I, but I see the complaints about Slowik intensifying since Nico went down and then really hitting stride once Diggs went down. It’s a shame, really. I think they might be able to get by without Diggs, but not both of them. I don’t think any team outside of KC and Detroit is equipped to lose WR1 and WR2 and still compete with the best.

eta* The Packers are equipped for that, actually. My bad.
