WR Odell Beckham, Jr., Free Agent (3 Viewers)

I have had OBJ stashed for several weeks and now have been decimated w WR injuries (Kupp/M Williams) So I am hoping he can come back and contribute in a meaningful way. There is something in the back of my mind tho that tells me he won't be a help.
I hope I am wrong!!

Giants make more sense than Cowboys in my opinion, at least of Beckham wants to be a featured part of the offense. If he goes to Dallas he's probably looking at 2-6 targets a week. If he goes to NY, its probably 6+ every week.

Fantasy wise, in Dallas he'd be Julio Jones in TB, in NY he'd be Brandin Cooks.

The thing I think people need to remember is OBJ is coming of a torn ACL and is nowhere near the player he was a few years ago. He's probably not a top-40 NFL WR at this point. He was putting up under 40 yards per game in a top offense down the stretch last season.

Don't count out the Vikings...they redid Brian O'Neill's contract to clear up more space and Thielen looks slow. Also O'Connell knows OBJ and what he can do in his offense.

Good point but I believe OBJ said hes going to a warm weather location. I would throw LAC into the mix but doubt it happens. I think it's about 90% chance it's Dallas

Nashville is pretty warm. 🤔
Extremely unlikely but he’d help there more than just about anywhere.

In his prime, he was great. The years and the injuries continue to take a toll. How much would you offer him considering the limited number of possible games and the fact he is returning from a torn ACL? How does the media focus and his ego impact your team chemistry? I’d stay away or offer a contract almost totally dependent on incentives.

It comes down to how hard of a worker he is to come back from injury.

If he worked his butt off, I mean over the top to get in top shape he could be really good for a year or two, possibly
I do not know how hard he works or ever worked to be in top shape

I agree with you....yet I think he is choosing Dallas. 2 reasons: past history both with the giants and the fact that he chose LA last time (with a really full wr stable already. And the fact that he wants to join a good team with a shot at another ring. Clearly the cowboys are a better team than the giants. (imo) .... I think the smart thing, if he really trusts his conditioning, is to sign a 1 year contract with the giants and put up great numbers there then the sky is the limit the following year.

You just answered my question. Looking for a flyer that could emerge. I think he's going to DAL.
WR's are: Kupp (IR), Hopkins, Higgins, Godwin, G Wilson, and G Pickens. If anything the dart throw would be Beckham for Pickens. Curious to see how M White performs for the NYJ JETS JETS JETS. I like the team, kinda like the Lions, two up and comers.

Edit: Never mind for now. I just dropped Pickens for J Palmer who moves just ahead of G Wilson and just behind C Godwin, but starts in DFS now. I'm out on Odell for now.

He's never been as good as he thinks he is and that's made me less of a fan.
The Gmen and Cowboys could sure use his arrogance.
Assuming he's the same in the huddle, the Boys fall apart often and having a guy believing in them might be just what they need.
I don't think "pretty good" will cut it in NY. I bet he knows that. All he can do is harm his reputation in NYC where he's believed to have been Moss-like. He's older with not many years left. Revisit NY in retirement and enjoy the appreciation- not now

Good questions
He's worth a ton for Playoff bound teams just to keep him off other Playoff teams

I have not heard this team linked to Odell but if OBJ were to sign with the Buffalo Bills and become a slightly more reliable week in week out option vs Davis and Mckenzie to compliment Diggs, to drive defenses crazy, to open up even more underneath lanes for the role players like Dawson Knox, would be something see him tip the scales in the AFC East

As a Miami fan it's my worst nightmare but I can see it happening and OBJ would solve a whole lot of problems for Buffalo
That's the 1st Place Buffalo Bills, now 8-3 and a half game up on my Mighty Phins

yeah, I don't see him coming back to NYG this year. (edit: i believe he has said he wants to play for a contender, this is not this team at this point)

there may be some who thinks he's moss like, but most of us remember his tantrums , the boat ride, and we don't forget him peeing like a dog in the end zone.

great one handed catch though, got me off my couch when he did that.

not willing to look it up but think he had a couple of really good years with the giants ...then fell off...There is no doubt how important he was with the rams last year.

oh definitely he had a great first 3 years with Eli.

Absolutely but not exactly the high level of continued success

OBJ was awesome his first three years, and this suggestion that he was a 1-catch star is off base.

91-1305-12
96-1450-13
101-1367-10

Sadly, injuries have made him now what he once was, but think of how awesome Justin Jefferson is this year. That was Beckham in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

No to mention his 91/1305/12 rookie season was only 12 games. Every OBJ owner has been chasing the dragon.

I think it may be asking a lot for 30+ year old coming back from a torn ACL to beat out Davis or McKenzie.

And they like the development of Shakir in the slot as well.

Send him to DAL - a team I really don't like that much lol. Playing the DAL D in one league though lol.

Well. Allen definitely won’t be afraid to sling it to him and let him make a play. I think him signing in Buffalo would make for some fantastic football.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport believes free agent Odell Beckham (knee) is unlikely to play before late December.

Beckham's timeline has went from mid-November into early December. It now looks like he won't be ready until the end of next month. Beckham isn't scheduled to visit with Dallas until December 5, making it unlikely he signs before then. The Giants and Buffalo have visits lined up with Beckham in addition to the Cowboys. With only six weeks remaining before the playoffs, Beckham may be targeting a multi-year deal.

I spelled it out either earlier in either this thread or in another thread. OBJ has produced as WR40+ for several years now. His yards per game has dropped with each team he has been with. I forget
the exact numbers, but he ranked in the weekly Top 5 WR five times in close to four years worth of games.

Now he is coming back cold, with no camp, not in game shape, off an injury, and hasn’t played in 9 months in a new system with a new QB. IMO, he is a TD dependent roll of the dice for anyone that plays him.

Just to argue this point a bit he was also sharing targets with a target machine in Cooper Kupp among other guys. Kupp takes a ton of targets away from others similar to what a Keenan Allen in his prime and a Devante Adams do didthis. So if OBJ is in NYG with their injuries he's getting majority that isn't handed off or throw to Barkley

Ive also heard that Baltimore might be in the mix . I think its between the giants and dallas though. the giants win if he wants high vollume in cold weather or dallas if he wants to play in warmer weather with a better chance at a ring. Im betting he chooses dallas.

Is he even running full speed yet?

Feels like fool's gold in redraft.
exactly. even at full speed is that flash in the pan any better than any wr on the giants roster? you want him to flake out again? dudes a clown who the hell wants that jackwagon lockeroom cancer around ?? he would be the death knell to anyone who picks him up its bad enough that nfl teams considered matt rhule and nate 'cant' hackett head coach material but to be so stupid as to grab obj??? wow

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports "it sounds like" Odell Beckham will sign with the Cowboys.

Schefter's scoop comes from an executive on a team linked to the Beckham sweepstakes. The source called Dallas a 2-1 favorite and noted every other team would have 5-1 or longer odds. Beckham has visits to multiple teams lined up, but Dallas makes sense as a landing spot for the veteran wideout. Eying a deep playoff run, the Cowboys would benefit from a receiver able to take the attention of CeeDee Lamb while also making big plays. Beckham, on the other hand, almost certainly wants to chase another ring.

-I don't know what time the flight was but it's very possible he was sleeping and there isn't much more to it than that.
-I doubt OBJ chugs coffee 1st thing in the morning
-It's possible he already had a light workout at say 5am and was exhausted by the time he landed in his seat
-The crew forcing everyone to de-board the plane, they should have been as furious with the airline as the passenger

This is why I haven't flown on an airplane in a very long time. SO many things can go wrong from the time you step inside the airport thru security thru the waiting area thru the boarding process that has many layers thru the getting settled into a seat and praying someone doesn't want to load an emotional support dog into the same aisle like it's their spouse...I've had enough of going thru airports and airlines/airplanes, I just go Madden style everywhere

"Cocaine is a hell of a drug"

I like that - prior to take off - he was "asleep with a blanket over his head which is normal practice for long flights" per his attorney. I am on a plane about 25% of my time (on average) for business and have NEVER seen anyone put a blanket over their head. It was a 10:00a flight for crying out loud.

Also, interesting that OBJ was so tired that he could not wake up and put his seatbelt on... but once the plane was back at the gate, he was fully awake and surprised by how badly he was being treated.

Something stinks here. Beyond his normal diva act... everyone has to wear a seatbelt on a plane and if you cannot be revived to do so I would guess that the flight crew was correct in assuming that something was seriously wrong with him. Who wouldn't?

These athletes run on a different schedule than most of us, their 5am is our 11 pm and our 6am is their 10pm, it's all very technical and complicated to the average person peering into their world, wouldn't want to put anyone to sleep trying to explain it all

I've been on planes with many athletes and celebs over the years. It's quite common actually and have yet to see one with a towel over their head that could not be resuscitated in order to fasten their seatbelt.

Dude's got a medical issue.

Hey thanks, if you ever manage to dumb it down enough for ordinary people to comprehend, please share.
