Then he takes "The Brady Way" and files an appeal in Federal Court. No chance Brooks and Thrash say "oh ok so that's your reasoning for behaving that way, well then we condone that behavior"OBJ WILL appeal. What are peoples thoughts on whether he still plays Sunday?
I am thinking 65%. League had no choice but to suspend him a game but this is a first time offender right? Heavy fine he will pay but I think the chances of being overturned and playing Sunday night in prime time is better than even.
Doesn't gain anything by calling out a player to press.I heard what he said to reporters and it was weak imo.I guess it's somewhat understandable that they're standing by their superstar, but there needs to be apologies and more pointed language around Beckham's despicable behavior. You missed a bunch.Coughlin spoke to team, then reporters, then met privately with ODBNonexistent response from the Giants so far which I find really surprising. Coughlin gave a tepid condemnation of the actions on the field but says he stands behind the player. I guess my image of them as one of the highest class franchises in sports is way off. I haven't seen any apologies from him or anyone on the Giants and if any of the coaches even bothered to reprimand him on the sidelines, it wasn't shown on TV. I assumed they would have had a meeting with him today, maybe even attended by the Maras, in which he would be told in no uncertain terms that his behavior was unacceptable and goes against what the team stands for. And I know appealing the suspension is almost automatic, but under the circumstances it would've been a really wise gesture to decline to appeal. One game for what he did is more than fair.
The whole thing is really disappointing to me as a Giants fan and they're going to lose me if they don't rein him in. He's going to be the face of the franchise for as long as he's there, and if that face is going to be Randy Moss meets Alfred Haynesworth, a lot of lifelong fans are going to feel alienated.
Another thing -- last week he was compared to Jerry Rice and said it was "shocking" to be mentioned in the same sentence. That's obviously bs because he carries himself like he's already the best thing to ever happen to the NFL. And it couldn't be a worse comparison because Rice was the epitome of humility and class.
This is a negative mark. At some point his agent (or his ma?) will be telling him to hush and stop discussing the negative. Then he takes "The Brady Way" and files an appeal in Federal Court. No chance Brooks and Thrash say "oh ok so that's your reasoning for behaving that way, well then we condone that behavior"OBJ WILL appeal. BOOM! 25 receptions, 345 yeards and 4 TDs on Sunday.
Gordon isn't Odell that's crazy. He's lucky to be a top ten wr when he returns.Odell is good. Real good....
But Gordon good? nah. 14 games deep for each in their second seasons.... 1646yds v 1396yds...
sure, beckham w the 13td to 9td edge, but which one has a SB winning QB at the helm? I fuggin miss Gordon so much...
The league is going to be so much more fun next season w him and odell at full steam
Exactly! Sames reason I get TWO hookers every night that I'm in Vegas. I respect my wife too much to risk falling in love with a hooker. Stay classy bros! The gentleman did not want to impose on his wife who was having a difficult pregnancy. He did the right thing.Except for the time the classy jerry Rice was caught at a brothel getting a "massage" with his pregnant wife at home.Another thing -- last week he was compared to Jerry Rice and said it was "shocking" to be mentioned in the same sentence. sucks for you bro.He is gone, he wont win appeal. Talibs 1 game ban was upheld.
I say he won't be suspended unless he doesn't fight it.He is gone, he wont win appeal. Talibs 1 game ban was upheld.
Over and over again; including a blindside, running headshot after a play was over. Class-A ########.I don't condone the behavior but it sounds like Norman instigated it. I don't feel sorry for Norman.
According to an interview I heard on The Rich Eisen show, Norman threatened him with a baseball bat, he was told they were going to end his career, and they made a ton of sexual comments to him before game.
They bullied him and he bullied back. No place for that, do your talking on the field.
I'm shocked so many people are so down on Odell. He will get suspended. Fine let's move on. It doesn't make him a bad person he just got mad and went after a guy. It's football and most of you weenies always whine about how "wimpy" the game is now anyway.
Bottom line is if you bully expect to get retribution.
Supposedly he's spoken to him before, after Beckham acted like a jerkoff with the showboating. Had zero effect obviously. What we're seeing is the start of another Haynesworth in the making. He needs counseling and a sincere desire to change, or this is going to keep happening.Doesn't gain anything by calling out a player to press.Does by dealing with him individually or team in the lockerroomI heard what he said to reporters and it was weak imo.I guess it's somewhat understandable that they're standing by their superstar, but there needs to be apologies and more pointed language around Beckham's despicable behavior. You missed a bunch.Coughlin spoke to team, then reporters, then met privately with ODBNonexistent response from the Giants so far which I find really surprising. Apparently they do this every game, but it's still low classhttps://www.instagram.com/p/_hYkU5vaFl/
Apparently this is some random Panthers practice squad player taunting the Giants with bat in hand as they come onto the field. That dude should've been cut by halftime. You want to start some kind of gangsta ####, then don't be surprised when people go gangster on ya. ####### clowns.
Pretty much all Odell owner agree...we're just disappointed with the timing but that's on Odell. Sorry but this is a stupid post. This might go to 100 pages with all the crying from all the OBJ owners. He deserves the one game. Should be more. Can't believe the punish pot smoking more than this garbage.
Yeah, I'm sure his obvious rage issue will work itself out on its own.I give you credit, you're consistent with ignorant posts here and in the FFA.Counseling
I think he was looking for someone to throw batting practice.https://www.instagram.com/p/_hYkU5vaFl/

Couple things, the guy WASN'T 50 yards away. Literally about 5 or 10 yards away at most. The guy is in front of 1000s of people, he is scared of some guy 50 yards away with a bat? Like what would really have happened, seriously? They come after him with a bat right there? Doesn't make sense.

You're so dopey. He's a 22 year old hot head. He's got some growing up to do that's all. This seems like a pretty rational, well thought out position that hasn't been touched on enough. Please expand on it.The fact that Carolina coaches are calling the bat threats part of their pre-game tells me all I need to know. I stand 100% behind suspending odell for his game and the Panthers TEAM for the rest of the season.

So sourcey...Hearing a lot of buzz around the league in support of Beckham. Panthers have quite the bad rep as far as cheap shots and trash talk.
Hearing a lot of buzz around the league in support of Beckham. Panthers have quite the bad rep as far as cheap shots and trash talk.
Nearly 34 percent of 13,000-plus readers said Beckham deserves a multi-game suspension for his antics.
Over 4,000 voters (nearly 31 percent) said Beckham should sit for a game. In third place? A call for Beckham to receive a fine (26 percent). Just 1,300-plus readers (9 percent) thought the NFL shouldn't do anything to punish the receiver.

Norman is a complete ###. No doubt about it. Would have zero issues with ODB being suspended for two games and Norman being suspended for 1.Waiting for larger outcry of Norman should be suspended too
It IS garbage how he acted and the dopey bat for home-runs in pregame but ODB can't separate himself from the rest. They'll all be dealt with individually. It's not a collective fine or suspension

Yeah and young players act like that all the time. Get a clue. I never sided with either one. As far as I'm concerned both of you guys have garbage sources. But then again, no prophet is honored in his home town, etc.
So because not every player in the league conforms to your high code of conduct that means they immediately need to be put into counseling? Isn't this the straw man argument? That's not what he said at all. I don't know how anyone can look at his behavior and say, yea he's just a kid learning how to grow up. According to ESPN or nfl.com I forget which one, he apologized at half time to the team. Then he went out and CONTINUED to behave like that. He knew he was hurting the team. Rage over took him and he couldn't control it. So yes, counseling is probably appropriate for him because it's clear he has an anger management issue. Let's hope this doesn't get out of control and become more evident in his every day behavior. The nfl had a pr nightmare last year with individuals with anger issues (Ray rice, hardy, etc).So because not every player in the league conforms to your high code of conduct that means they immediately need to be put into counseling?
