well as long as it wasnt a hammy pull.... he easily could be run back out there to be a decoy... which appears to be what they tried to do... kind of like julio, this injury is going to prevent him from hitting top gear

 
Well, not sure he was really a decoy because after he returned they targetted him in the RZ...so either it's minor or Manning forgot that he was a decoy! Unfortunately, with Manning both are equally likely.

 
Odell Beckham (hamstring) is not practicing Wednesday.
Beckham was injured late in Sunday night's win over the 49ers. He reportedly has some swelling in his hamstring, and coach Tom Coughlin considers his star receiver "day to day." Beckham's Monday MRI revealed no serious damage, and OBJ is hopeful he'll be able to play Monday night. The good news is he gets an extra day of rest. We'll have plenty of updates the rest of the week.

He was running hard on the end zone target that set up the PI at the end of the game. No way he doesn't play this week, with an extra day and huge division game.

Things tighten up after muscles have cooled. Just because it felt loose mid game doesn't mean things can't hinder a player days later.

 
monday night game..ugh....many will just have to hope he plays or get a zero. Many leagues lock pick ups at 1:00 sunday.

I guess you could pick up someone like Riley Cooper as insurance now if you have the roster space, I personally do not.

If you're in a league which allows you to flex TE, maybe Donnell is still out there too? He would prob see an uptick in production without ODB.

I'm trying to decide who to drop to get him. It's between Starks (I'm a Lacy owner) or the Rams D (juicy schedule after their bye this week)

yes, that is probably the play...my only drop options would be Hankerson(plays tonight) or Rawls. Really don't want to cut either.

Similar situation for me. Would pick up Harris, but no great options to drop. I guess if it doesn't sound good by Sunday morning, I'll have to roll with Lamar Miller.

 
Plan to evaluate OBJ status Sunday morning... If chance he plays, probably give him a shot with backup plan being move him to ir spot and picking up Harris. If tending towards not playing starting j brown.

 
I feel like there's a good chance a lot of people have a Giant or Eagle they could plug in should things get desperate. I mean, I'm not thrilled about the prospect of starting Ryan Mathews, but I think starting him or Harris or Agholor or Vereen or some other fringe player from either team is a decent enough crutch for the massive potential reward of Beckham playing.

 
Only other NYG/PHI player on my team is DeMarco, and we can't start 3RB. So I would have to bench Murray and go 1RB (Gio or Ingram) and 5 WR/TE just to have the OPTION of subbing out Beckham on Monday night.

Best NYG/PHI option on the wire is Geremy Davis. How likely is he to get snaps if Beckham is out?

I simply cannot imagine ODB not playing on prime time! My gut would say he goes through his own stretching and running routines to keep fresh and test the waters? My gut says he plays and he plays well. But, I did pick up Harris just in case.

I'm definitely worried. I'm desperately trying to make a trade to free up a spot so I can grab Harris. I think ODB will probably play, but I can't go into Monday night without a backup plan.

 
Picked up vereen as a backup and have ODB starting in flex for now. I would be very surprised if he doesn't play, seems like the Giants are just being extra extra cautious.

That's how I'm leaning. It would be different if he wasn't doing anything at all. But he's at least been stretching and running on the side.

 
Guys, don't forget that Beckham went back into the game last week after injuring his hammy. He also said its not the same hammy as his injury last year, not even in the same spot, and the Mri showed NO tissue damage. The Giants are in contention to win the NFC east but they need to win this very important game vs a division rival.

Coughlin is just giving his star player as much rest as possible to help him heal up for Monday night. Why not? We all know what Beckham can do. He doesn't need to practice. He's a beast.

I understand the panic BC it's a Monday night game but really, all signs point to him being able to. I'm really not going to worry unless I hear he's had some kind of a setback.

I know it's a different player but back in the day Plaxico Burress used to miss practice all week and still play games under Coughlin. So just another factor to consider.

 
I think Coughlin may let him play even if he's not 100%. If so he'll be at risk of re-aggravating his hammy. Possible downsides if they either limit his snap count, or only have him running certain types of routes, or use him as a decoy, etc.

With his huge ceiling in a primetime game, if he's active he'll be in my lineup. But I won't be shocked with a low fantasy score from him this week.

This is interesting. Any idea if Plaxico ever missed practice all week then played a Monday night game? Again, as you said, they are very different players and are used in very different ways, but the Coughlin insight is very relevant.

Coughlin said he was switching his practice week to allow more healing (for Beckham) to a Sunday practice. In other words they really need him if he can go.

 
Man this sucks, Im going to have to drop someone like Crowell if I want to protect him in case he doesn't play. Not that crowell is great, but he's better than anyone on the wire.
