WR Odell Beckham, Jr., Free Agent (6 Viewers)

With the Giants trading two defensive pieces in consecutive days, does this help or hurt OBJ?

They are in tank or NFL "evaluate" mode. Does this mean more garbage time for OBJ as the D is getting worse?

I almost want them to keep Eli in, if they bench him which I see coming, I'm not confident Kyle Lauletta will be able to feed a #1 WR as bad as Eli has been.

If they can't stop anyone, will he see the field enough? That's also now a concern. Garbage time is nice, but you need him with good game script - on the field.

Also, I'm hoping the offensive line gel's as the weeks go on - they seem too talented on the left side at least to be this bad, they don't have experience with each other.

I do like how OBJ and Schumur have patched their relationship and OBJ stood by his 2 point conversion decision.  I think coach knows that he needs to get OBJ the ball any way possible.

Yeah, that would help. It is good that they were not fighting and looking to get him the ball.

I don't agree. We are 1/3 through the season and what the Giants have shown is that their raging can-be-seen-from-the-ISS dumpster fire of a team with the NFL's #26 scoring offense can still some how, some way support a top 3 RB and top 3 WR.

Unless you think the Giants will just shut down their starters and treat December like an inverse pre-season. But even the historically embarrassing Colts team that was tanking for Luck wasn't so shameful that they didn't play their starters every game.

I'm not worried they're going to inverse tank so much as I'm worried about usage and game script, as they say now. And who is going to play through an injury on a 3-10 team. Nobody, really. They'll put Barkley on a pitch count and figure out a way to limit Odell without it being tanking. It'll be as someone just said, be evaluating.

This is actually really valuable insight. If other OBJ owners have that same feeling, he's the rare asset where you can actually acquire a top 3 positional player at a reasonable cost.

I personally think this is no different than any other crap team we have seen since forever. It's just because OBJ moves the needle and is the lead on ESPN that it feels like its different. But it's not. Giants are just another ####ty team that racks up yards and some scores. They're the Colts in a bigger market.

? That was funny. As for the italicized, it depends what you mean by reasonable.

Uh, I might just be paranoid. But I've watched it before on teams that have no defense and the other team spends eight minutes a quarter driving on them. I have Barkley in a standard league, too, so I'm worried.

Go ahead, make me an offer

There's no way that they paid OBJ the money he got to sit on the bench because the team is bad. Not a chance in hell. I also don't get a sense OBJ is a team-first kind of guy so he wants to pad his stats just like we want him to.

If he gets any type of minor injury and they have no chance at the playoffs I guarantee the Giants will shut him down. Similar to David Johnson last year. Why would they risk more serious injury on a lost season? They wouldn’t.

I'm already going in with early 1st, mid-late first, early second and Amari in dynasty to a team in rebuild. I'm guessing it'll get done.

Actually, they will be trying to win every game. And who are they evaluating? They are a bad team. That doesn't mean they are just going to limit Barkley or Beckham.

Oh, they'll definitely have an eye for next year. Look, if they don't, I'll come back here and eat crow. But you're gonna see a drop in Saquon's usage at the least. Beckham is more questionable. But what if they bench Manning to get a look at the kids and the kids can't get him the ball?

They're 1-6. They know it's over.

Another week, another Giants loss.  It's looking more and more like Eli is going to be replaced at some point during the season and since the Giants have no viable backup, we may be looking at 4th round rookie Kyle Lauletta trying to get OBJ the ball.  I know nothing about the kid, but as a Jordy owner who had to deal with Brett Hundley at QB last year for the Pack, I know that a downgrade could really kill a WR's value.  Giving serious thought to trading Odell now as he's had two huge games in a row and his value is still high.  Anyone else doing the same?

I've thought about it. But OBJ is so good (and better than Nelson) its tough to trade a player with that floor.

I was shopping him around as well. A lot of people are weary of that QB situation and aren't biting. It's also difficult to trade a player heading into their bye week. But now that he's off the bye, someone may be interested. I have concerns about Eli finishing out the year. I had the feeling they were going to bench him, but then Lauletta got popped on that traffic infraction which may put him in the doghouse so I think that bought some time (if there was any risk at all, of course).

I was looking for a Joe Mixon, Christian McCaffrey, James White (PPR) type player in return for him. There are not many RBs I would be comfortable moving for OBJ, and the ones I would be comfortable moving him for are valued higher (Gurley, Kamara, Barkley, Hunt, Gordon).

Even if you don't need the RB help. RB talent is scarce, swapping OBJ for a top RB and then flipping him for a different top WR isn't the craziest thing you could do. After all, why would someone swap a top WR for OBJ? It's a lateral move for them, and one with some risk considering the QB situation.

Odell Beckham caught 4-of-11 targets for 73 yards and two touchdowns in the Giants' 27-23, Week 10 win over the 49ers on Monday night.

It wasn't a very efficient night for Beckham, as he had a bad drop on the first play of the game, but OBJ was able to make his catches count. His first score came from 10 yards out as he was left wide open on the back line of the end zone, while his second was a 20-yard connection over the top of CB Ahkello Whitherspoon. Beckham has 100 yards and/or one touchdown in all but three games this season. He gets the Bucs at home in a mouthwatering Week 11 spot.

the long pass where he had 5 yards on the defender was embarrassing for Eli.  That's a guaranteed TD from 90% of the QB's in the NFL  Eli can't throw over 30 yards in the air.
It looked really bad for Eli, but I think it was mostly because his plant foot slipped.

Just like OBJ slipped near the goal line on a pass that was another likely TD for him if he hadn't.

Giants had a tough time overall on that turf.

Ugh, where the heck did this come from?
He was limited in practice, honestly I don't mind the week off since I have a bye, as long as he is healthy for next week I'm good with him sitting but anyone needing a replacement Shepard and Engram can both fill in pretty good if they are available.

Well that's just really swell that YOU don't need him this week but for me I'm screwed and waivers past. And no shepherd or Engram for me.Guess I get to start either Parker or John Brown. Lucky me...

Dante Pettis? Curtis Samuel?
Samuel is my other starter LOL and Petis long gone. It's FFPC. Can't get anyone now anyway.

Dammit this throws everything in dissaray. Have aware in even though he has toughest matchup but now wonder if I should yank him for Josh Adams? And then I have to replace Beckham with either Parker, J. brown, Conley or Gallup? What a mess...

####### I'm on bye but this worries me for next week.

Barkley is gonna feast this weekend. Could single handedly win some games for people.

Well isn't this just poopy pants.  Now I have to start one of Josh Adams, Trey Burton, or Anthony Miller.   I hate this game sometimes.

Yea this sucks along with the Sanders hit.

Right now I have Zay Jones to put in but Pettis is still on the wire.  Goodwin back but Garcon out.  Seems many are high on Pettis this week but I'm not sure I get the love...

I put OBJ on IR (short term) and picked up Tre’Quan Smith NOS WR just for this weekend....figure TBB- NOS shootout... not willing to start Josh Adams or D Arnold for my flex.

Not many options left. WW picked clean. Got outbid on both Samuels & Wilson. Missed Pettis as I did not need WR - foolish me!!🤬

Is it me or does this whole scenario stink to high heaven??? I mean outside of a p,Ayer getting hurt in warmups (Engram a few weeks ago) it's highly irregular for news to break on Saturday like this.
