WR Puka Nacua LAR (1 Viewer)

Puka NewKupp

Fine, as long as you don't get lazy and shorten it to PuKupp.
New team name idea: Puka’s, one Kupp.
I once named a team 2 Gurleys 1 Kupp

Lol. If Pukachu blows up again this weekend against the Niners, we should all change our team names to:

Two Girls One PuKupp.

Team name? If Puka goes off against the Niners I may ask the wife to name a child after him.
One of my children is named Finley, true story
Okay okay. But…. Did he get a lot of “bumps” and bruises growing up?

Wish I could 🤣 emote this twice

I bid 62% FAAB in a competitive league and 54% in another. Big targets like that aren’t a fluke, and I expect a role carved out rest of season. He’s someone that is going to be worth a start every week and if Kupp misses more time might be a league winner off the WW.

15 targets and 10 receptions in a rookie debut is nearly unprecedented. And it’s incredibly rare to see a debut like this at any position. Picking him up is like betting on a pair of aces in holdem. You aren’t guaranteed to win the hand but it’s literally the best bet you can make. If he plays anything like Anquan Boldin in his first season, he was worth any amount of FAAB spent for a team that needs a true WR1.

Being offered Nacua straight up for Kyren Williams in PPR league. Having trouble pulling the trigger with Kupp return.

Your team’s situation is key to understanding if that makes sense. With no information, I think it’s a no brainer based simply on his debut.
2RB/3WR/TE/2Flex, (.5RB/1WR/1.5TE) PPR. Thought WR/TE was my strength before week 1 with Garrett Wilson, Devonte Smith, Hockenson, Aiyuk, Addison and Drake London, but not so sure any longer. Went Hero RB with Chubb, so scrounge for RB2 with Swift/Gainwell, Kamara, Kyren, Roschon Johnson and Charbonnet.

That’s a LOT of position players. I’m not familiar with specific strategies for that league but I’m guessing the rosters are huge and free agent pool is very light on talent. My gut says Nacua as I think his upside is better but that’s a guess and both players are a gamble. However, since it would appear that rosters are large in your league, maybe it’s harder to find RBs than WRs on waivers which is an important consideration. According to my League Dominator, KWilliams ranks #80 and Nacua ranks #92. Maybe check that out for your league. And that’s going to flop next week if Nacua has a good game and KWilliams doesn’t. And flop back again if it’s the other way around the following week. Based on my assumptions about your league and the better ranking this week for KWilliams…maybe KWilliams is preferable. (I’ll add that I’m very oriented to hoarding high quality RBs on draft day for bench depth to save me from injuries and because RBs are the hardest position to replace on waivers.)

Who is actually starting him against the 49ers?
:towelwave:
Over whom?
I'm looking at him in three FPC redrafts, but each one is a close call. Bold is where I'm leaning.

*Pick 2 flex : Puka, Bourne, Shaheed, (am presuming C Watson sits) - I don't believe in Bourne but Mac has a chip on his shoulder and they're playing the Dolphins so maybe high scoring.

*Pick 1 flex : Puka, Gabe, Doubs, Bourne - am torn between Bourne and Gabe here

*Pick 1 WR and 2 flex : Puka, Bourne, Shaheed, Burks if Nuk sits

Ok so I guess typing this up showed me I'm not starting him. But I think he is the real deal and I really don't mind him in these spots if I went that way. I have Elijah Moore over him by the way.

That last one I will most likely start him over Burks.

Still a couple days to Sunday. Hopefully it’s precautionary. He seemed to have played through it pretty well on Sunday.
He practiced in full yesterday so stands to reason it's a new injury that did not impact him Sunday.

Perhaps they are taking it easy but limited vs DNP would have been a lot better.
Or they’re giving him a rest day out of abundance of caution.
I enjoy the optimism but I feel like in fantasy I've been riding a bad luck heater for the past few weeks and last night was runner up bidder for Atwell in truly almost all of my leagues, and usualy by a few buck, so......

We’ll see. I have options so I’m not that concerned either way.

I would like to start the dude I promoted from taxi though.

I wouldn't panic yet. Probably just being cautious given the state of the WR room.

I hope.
That le my gut feel. Lot of talk about how he was slow to get up a few times - if he played through it he likely will again. Maybe wear a flak jacket.
Check this out
That's actually good news to me because it counters my post a few up that the injury was new since he practiced in full yesterday. Obviously an injury you can practice in full 3 days after it occurs does not seem as severe as a new injury suddenly taking you out.

Yep. We know this.
Oh, Ok. I didn't see in here that it was confirmed he hurt his ribs during the game, and he was wearing padding yesterday after practice.

I take it as good news also. They have a thin receiving room - if he was full go Wednesday I could see a maintenance day Thursday. Maybe even tomorrow.

Oblique injury, Looks like those 15 targets took a toll. This is the same injury that Waddle has been dealing with for the past 4 weeks. Obliques are abdominal muscles that are responsible for twisting. On average they take about 3-4 weeks to fully heal if strained. Chance he could play in W2, but he’s at risk for further reinjuring them + he has a tough matchup against 49ers. If DNP tmr then I expect him to be out.

When I saw the designation I suspected the right ankle. It appeared to happen on that one catch he went up for along the sideline. Coming down he turned the 2nd foot sideways, parallel to the boundary to make sure he was in. Definitely rolled the ankle, seemed to be okay, but it didn't look good. As mentioned above, works the dirty area in the middle of the field. Feasted on combination routes, running to a spot underneath & throws from Stafford that were deliberately low. If that's his role, he's not going to be much of a yac guy, although he did break some tackles. Impressive concentration, excellent ball skills & catch radius, comfortable in traffic. Love how he instinctively sinks after making the catch. It's all one fluid motion, secures the catch & immediately gets low to prepare the body for contact.

Pull the trigger. When AK41 comes back you are golden.

Listed as out on rtsports fwiw
Of practice or week 2?
Not sure, but the only way that management site lets you put a player on I/R is if they have an "O" designation.

Just checked again and it's "Q" questionable. Maybe it was a glitch this morning as they usually only tag a guy "O" if he's out for sure. Rare to see an "O" this early in the week, which was weird.
