WR Ricky Pearsall, SF (1 Viewer)

Bald Bowser and IR spot are the only two things keeping pretty Ricky on my roster. I just wish the yahoos at Yahoo would keep him designated as 'O' until he actually logs a practice. Sux having to manage around his designation reset until late in each week when he gets reclassified as 'O' once again.
This. I get hosts like Yahoo and Sleeper just pull designations from the NFL and that's fine. But they shouldn't post the updates IMO until Friday or so because it really screws with waivers and add/drops. If they were "Out" for their game the previous week, they should stay that way until at least first waivers process which is Tuesday for the majority of leagues. At least that way I can just get roster locked after I do the first run of waivers and set my initial weekly starting lineup. Gotta be a happy medium that is better than this Michael Scott and Jan "snip, snap, snip, snap". "You have no idea the physical toll three add/drops a week have on a person Sleeper!"

Seems like they should stay "out" until they practice. Just automatically going back to "Q" seems wrong if they haven't even been on the practice field.
Not that I love the gambling aspect of sports and how much it's influenced things the past few years; but have to figure this will be leveraged at some point. Then again, I'm sure the fantasy football profits for the major players amounts to a spits worth into the ocean of all their other gambling revenue. So maybe they don't really care much, or at least not as much as like what just happened with Lamar's wonky pregame designations.

That's why I prefer just more roster spots instead of an IR spot. Being held hostage each week based on designation changes is annoying.

Not practicing Wednesday

Pearsall (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Advice: San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Pearsall would be evaluated mid-week, with the idea that he has some chance to return from a lengthy absence for Sunday's game against the Rams. It's unclear if Pearsall still has a shot to play after being held out of practice Wednesday.

100%. Every Friday I can put him in my IR slot and pay to add someone and then Monday he’s back to questionable and I can’t add or offer a trade, set a lineup until I drop someone or wait till Friday again.

Isn’t it fun? I also do that every week.

On Wednesday, Shanahan said the team plans to get Purdy more first-team reps throughout practice this week — increasing the number of reps compared to his limited participation in Week 9.

"Shanahan said the plan this week is to give Purdy more first-team repetitions than he had last week," 49ers insider Matt Barrows of The Athletic reported.

Is Dr Nick Riviera in charge of the 49ers team health?

Hi everybody!

HI, DR. NICK!

Check this out. You have to see this to believe it. Something is way off with them and I'm watching Detroit in real time.

Aaron Schatz uses Bill Barnwell's Adjusted Games Lost to measure the impact of injuries. This is how the 49ers rank

I think it's clear they're more willing to take chances on injury prone players.

Also, Shanahan didn't say yes but also didn't 100% reject the theory that their hard practices could be leading to some of these injuries. Still to be determined, he said. But I don't think so. My theory on why the 49ers suffer so many injuries is at the bottom of this column.

Anyway, Reddit picked up on it.

"Building that callus" - Kyle Shanahan

All right, what's up, guys?
The best way to build your body to make
it through a year is building that
callus. All right, I really believe in
three practices in a row as we go
through camp. I can't always do it, all
right? Because of scheduling and stuff,
but that's what our goal is. All right,
the more we can practice three days in a
row and fight through soreness and stuff
is the more you build that callus. So,
we can do it the right way during the
year. We do it with a mountain. All
right. So, when you look at all these
three-day blocks, our goal is to get the
highest day 40 40 reps. All right. And
we will do that on our 12th practice.
And that 12th practice
just happens to be versus the Broncos.
All right? That's the way it falls on
it. That will be the most reps we do.
We'll build up to that and then for the
last two weeks, we'll build it back so
we get that natural rest. All right.
That happens with that extra week and
stuff and the final week of preseason.
So, we're fresh for week one. Any
questions? - Kyle Shanahan

He's out there in my 10 team .5 PPR league. Is he the WR1 upon return?
He shouldn't be on waivers right?
Depends on options but I’d pick him up

You mean depends on other options on waivers? If so I'm looking at picking up Burden or Pearsall. That's all there is as far as WRs go.

I'd definitely grab Pearsall over Burden.

Who would you drop?

Clev defense who I used last week.

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) will start in Week 11 against the Cardinals if the week “goes according to plan.”

Pearsall officially participated in practice for the first time since spraining his PCL in Week 4. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan previously said Pearsall would not resume practicing until he was able to hit his pre-injury speed, measured via the team’s GPS tracking system. While one might be understandably concerned about Pearsall’s conditioning, he theoretically should be good to go. If active, he can be started as a WR3. His 281 receiving yards in Weeks 1-3 were the third-most among NFL wide receivers.

I am not plugged into his outlook. But I did pick him up in my 10 team half PPR league.
I need some life as a AJB Sutton owner. They are so boom/bust.

What is Pearsall’s outlook for seasonal long leagues? I know he had some good games early in the year.

Pearsall or Monongai?
Vikings are gonna win or have the lead IMHO so I don't think the game script favors the Bears RB
And isn't Swift playing?

San Fran is 6-4 and a big win vs Arizona will get them back on track, Brock Purdy under Center so sign me up for some Ricky
The 2nd Half of the season is what drew folks to Pearsall lasts season

-My horse breaks late but giddy up!

I'm a little worried they'll limit him in his return, but at this point in my season I have no choice but to go full upside in every decision. Every week is a playoff game and I'm the underdog. As @greenmountaingoat said, Pearsall is as good of a lottery ticket as any right now and I desperately need to win the lottery.

I'm not worried about him being limited based on how they held him off from coming back too early. They seemed to be really waiting for him to be 100% before getting on the field. I think he's full go. Hopefully that means they treat him like a WR1. Helps that Purdy is back too as he seemed to favor Pearsall when they were both on the field.
