I've been looking too. Not sure I'm looking to over pay but I think something will get going, trade or more targets.
as I mentioned in the dyno trade thread, gave Harry and Davis for him. Not a believer in Harry, Davis I like for 2020 and beyond but starting to lose patience

Zimmer on Diggs' Status For Sunday, Keys To Success With Passing Game, More

Zimmer is asked if Diggs will play Sunday and ZImmer says "I don't know. We'll see." then he is asked "like the regular Diggs in practice?" "I dunno I have to watch tape" then he is asked what will determine if Diggs plays or not and again he says he has to watch the tape. Then the reporter seeking clarification asks so its how Diggs looks? Not punishment of any sort? Zimmer says Diggs has already been punished.

Punished for what?

There is a long silence after this and ZImmer just leaves the podium without further comment.

eta - The whole I am going to watch the tape thing is infuriating.

Diggs is good. Not sure what ZImmer would need to see on tape from him? It makes no sense. It is a comment Leslie Frazier used too much before being shown the door.
Zimmer is seeming more and more like a coach that may not make it through the season. At least Minnesota has a proven Super Bowl winning coach waiting in the wings.

I am not sure any of the coaches or Rick Spielman will be safe if they do not right the ship.

Agreed. Honestly, a win isn't even good enough this week, this needs to be a blowout, with 30+ points scored. The passing game needs to be gotten going, and the 31st ranked pass defense needs to be when it happens, because they aren't going to be able to run the ball very well in week 6 against Philly, and Detroit in week 7 is no slouch themselves, though historically they've been tremendous slouches.

I guess the punishment was that Diggs was fined for missing practice and meetings.

If he had a cold its understandable. The temprature has dropped recently, but the Vikings wouldn't have fined him for that if he was.

I don’t think I would mind that.  Just don’t give up the 1st.  And get rid of Zay.  I don’t even care if he blows up somewhere else.
For Diggs I'd definitely give a first plus Zay.  I'm expecting us to be 8-8 at worst, with or without Diggs, so it's not a top 10 pick.  Diggs is a proven quality receiver, he's on a good contract (with the Vikings eating the signing bonus), and he's young,  I know this is a good draft for WR, but the hit rate on first round WR's is less than 50% so it's not likely the guy we draft will be as good as Diggs, never mind better.

Just not THAT big of a fan.  Yeah, I think he’s good and an upgrade over what the Bils have.
But he’s never played a full 16 game season.  Only went over 1000 yds once.  Never scored 10 tds.  Just not that impressive.

Courtney Cronin @CourtneyRCronin

I’m told Stefon Diggs is indeed making the trip to New Jersey with the Vikings this afternoon. Mike Zimmer was noncommittal yesterday about Diggs’ availability for Week 5 vs. NYG, but certainly a good sign that he’s with the team and making the trip.

I think you are under estimating Diggs value.

Since there has been so much talk about Diggs lately I happened to hear that according to Matt Harmons charting Diggs is a top 5 WR as far as gaining separation on his routes.

This is actually the main source of the frustration of Diggs. He is getting open a ton, they just are not getting him the ball (enough).

There was a play that Baldinger was breaking down from the Bears game, where Thielen lined up on the left, with Diggs in the slot, a TE on the right and 2 backs. Thielen ran a go(and had a step) and Diggs ran a post-corner underneath it, and had something like 15 yards of separation, there was nobody near him, and Cousins dumped it to Ham to 3 yards.

If it was after their second series, Cousins was probably happy to have time for a dump off. Bears Defense was in the backfield all game. That is the premise of the defensive game plan. Get the QB so gunshy (not difficult with Cousins) that he's anticipating getting creamed on every drop back so his 1st read is what should be his last. The safe dump off. The diva WRs are open running 20 yards down field with his hand in the air wondering why the ball isn't already in his hands. They don't see Hicks' swim move or Mack's bull rushing the RT onto his backside. All he can see is his one hundred catch contract bonus going down the drain.

Would like to start diggs, but don't want a team punishment or some bs to take away playing time. Haven't heard anything, but seems like a Zimmer thing to do

Cousins sucks.  I think that's pretty well established.

Cousins has no field view.  He has all the others tools to be good, which is why he's been a top 10 QB, but it's the lack of perriffial vision that keeps him from being great.

I'd view Diggs as a high-end WR3 this week. On par with somebody like Jarvis Landry, or Calvin Ridley.

Ouch. When I dial up a post-corner for my son’s flag football team the WR is always wide open. Such a great route!

Exactly the mindset of today's entitled SJW society.  How date they fine him for something he did, that he was in control of and that he made no effort to communicate with the team those bastards.
or look at it this way, you get hired to do a job at a new company, you are near the top of your game and they promise you can use your skills to the fullest.  You get there and they tell you you can clean the toilets.  If you are motivated, you won't be happy with that even though you are still at your salary

Stefon Diggs has been fined over $200,000 for missing practices

I would imagine that it's hard to find the motivation to play for a team that fined you $200K.

Maybe it makes the Vikings and the fans feel good to lay down the law and show those players who's boss, but from a business perspective and from a competitive perspective, I don't think it's always smart move.

That's not to say that teams should allow players to get away with murder. But teams need to find a balance between punishment and production, and if the Vikings go too far in the punishment department, then production will be reduced. And that's no good for anyone.

No, I probably wouldn't be motivated.  But I would show up and do what I'm being paid for, and I wouldn't be feeling entitled to my entire pay if I didn't show up to work nor have an excuse for my absence.  But then again I'm a grown ### man and do not have an entitled SJW mentality.

I didn't say it was a good practice.  I said it's a horrible mindset that our society has developed that people be let off the hook because their feelings are hurt for something they chose to do/not do.  If he got fined a million dollars and showed up and went all out I'd say more power to him - his choice, taking the consequences, and getting on with it.  But if a guy is moping around, or fans are feeling sorry for it, about something he created, well to heck with that.

Zimmer is an idiot. I'm sure ownership loves paying Diggs a giant contract only to have him block all game.

Zimmer will be fired if this team doesn't win 9 or 10 games, and looking at their schedule I doubt they win more than 6.

no you wouldn't you would quit and find a new job...that's all diggs is asking

Victim of scheme... simply not enough grease in a run-heavy offense to support two squeaky wheels.

This town ain't big enough for Diggs AND Thielen anymore.

This week will be telling. Threw for over 300, won easily, but his share was only 40 of that.  Team or self?
He got seven receptions for 108 yards last week, and he made it a point to skip a day of work this past week. That should already answer your question.

I didn't see the game -- did his under-use seem engineered (e.g. not may plays had his number called, lesser snaps than usual)?

Did it stem from game flow (running game was working, playing ball control, other receivers -- including Cook -- doing well)?

Was it performance (Diggs not getting open, Cousins not seeing/hitting him)?

No. Diggs was one of the first players targeted in the game and he played the whole game. Also he was not under used.

There was no under utilization of Cook. The Vikings did a better job of mixing up formations and they were able to get some rhythm passing the ball and Cook was running the ball well. Cook also had a lot of receptions. This is something I thought about with Cook being used as a receiver more, that Diggs used to get more high percentage throws like this when the Vikings RB were injured or Peterson. They have Cook now. They don't need to do that right now.

Was it performance (Diggs not getting open, Cousins not seeing/hitting him)?
I am sure Diggs was open a lot more than he was targeted. Also possible that Cousins missed an opportunity to go to him, which does happen every game for every QB and every team.

Diggs: "I'm a Team Guy. I'm Here ... I Want To Win"

Stefon Diggs played on 53 offensive snaps (75%) Rudolph and Thielen were the only skill players who were on the field more than Diggs.

I think the most important thing is that Diggs was smiling and seemed pretty happy during and after the game.

yeah Bills would be disappointing... but they said the same thing when Hollywood went to the Ravens.
And they were right. It's better than they thought it would be though.  :)

Buffalo is always there to make an offer for an unhappy player.  I find it strange that they are trying to acquire WRs who are upset that they aren't getting the ball enough.  Pretty soon the Bills will be trading him too....

The team trading the player away is probably thinking "Haha, we will send you to Buffalo.  That's even worse than Cleveland because they are competitive enough not to get garbage time stats. "

Does everyone think he turns the season around regardless of a trade.  I get i that it matters where he goes if he is traded but I'm trying to get a feel for if he is just cruising through this season.  I was offered Diggs for Kerryon normally I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on this deal but I just have an uneasy feeling about Diggs right now.

Am i alone?

Peoppe said Lamar Jackson could never throw the ball. Brown is 2nd among rookie wrs in average fp/g. they were wrong.

While I dont see BUF as a major upgrade from MIN, I'm not sure I see it as a worse situation. They need a go to in that offense. Cole Beasely is not having a bad season, and his talent doesnt come close to Diggs. I think the future would certainly he better than MIN
