My personal projection assuming..

  • 24% target rate (League Average of WR1s in 2015)
  • 62% catch rate (2015 catch rate)
  • 8 Y/T (8.6 in 2015, slight downtick in efficiency with increased targets)

This would of put him at WR21 (PPR) overall in 2015. My projection is also assuming the team has an uptick in passing, but still slightly below league average and that the team's average margin is equal to last season. So with all those assumptions, I think this is probably a reasonable albiet best case-ish scenario for Diggs in 2016.
I arrived at a very similar projection (120 targets producing a 77/1075/6 stat line). He averaged 1.76 points per target last year and I feel pretty comfortable carrying that over to this year - I actually gave him a small bump 1.8 because I think he'll improve a tad with the further maturation of Teddy. It really blows that he's very unlikely to see the requisite targets to give him a serious ceiling but he's talented enough that I think he can produce with less.

He's my 33rd ranked WR which is almost a full ten spots higher than the consensus.

Even though it's only preseason, Teddy seemed to target Diggs quite a bit in the last preseason game. I assume they have a better rapport than last year.

Wondering if Thielen or Treadwell have developed a good rapport with Hill. Probably have more reps with him than Johnson & Diggs.

Probably doesn't matter. Sucks for Vikings fans.

As long as Shaun Hill can stay healthy and play well enough to start the whole year (big Ifs), I say you bump Diggs. Hill played pretty well for the Lions a few years back and force fed Calvin the ball, he and Calvin put up some monster stats. Hill is a FF upgrade for Diggs but a downgrade for the Vikings in real NFL terms.

2010 was a long time ago. He looked much worse with the Rams. Hasn't been impressive in PS.

Rams were awful in 2014 with absolutely no weapons in a very tough defensive division and he completed 63% of his passes for 207ypg with 8:6 TD:INT ratio.  Those number extrapolated out over 16 games were better than Teddy's 2015 campaign.  He's not going to light the world on fire, but neither was Teddy.   I really don't see much of a difference in the offense, but I was bearish on Teddy before he was hurt.

34 other QBs surpassed Teddy's TD rate (3.1%) AND ypg (201) in 2015, he was terribad.   Even with some improvement, there is a really good chance he was just a replacement level player.  If Diggs really is a good player I don't think it matters much.

It's a shame what happened to Teddy Bridgewater.  But I always got the sense that he was an average at best QB at this point in his career.  I don't know/think that Diggs' value takes a significant hit...if at all.

13th in QBR, 16th in Y/A, 10th in completion %.

Most pressured QB. Most accurate under pressure.

Hes not anywhere near terribad (except yes, for ff). Which maybe that's what you meant. But if you actually watch real football, he's a promising smart young QB (instead of box score watching).

Bridgewater's injury will have a bigger affect on the NFL Vikings than it will fantasy. He just wasn't an impactful fantasy figure. I'd say zero effect on Peterson and probably very minimal effect on the receivers. And sometimes the back-up quarterback tends to lock in on a team's best receiver more than the starter would.

24th/28th in AYA/AnyYA

When watching him play football I have never thought of him as smart, I see a lot of questionable decisions and not a whole lot of working through progressions.   He was flat out pathetic a lot of times last year.

How many times did you watch him?

I'll say this confidently. Put Bortles on that team last year they win less games. The O line was a dumpster fire and a 5th round rookie was by far their best WR. It was quite literally the worst situation in the NFL for a QB to put up numbers (cause they have a HOF RB and a def minded HC).

Not to mention that Diggs is not Calvin Johnson.
No, but could he be Jarvis Landry?

If they have a QB that can't be trusted throwing it outside the hashes, and their RB is no target monster, Diggs might see his targets actually increase.

He is an outstanding route runner. He's not big enough or strong enough to fight through getting jammed at the line but he's got a genuine knack for getting loose using quick footwork. Especially in the first month last year, he was fun to watch. Dude knows his craft.

i just wish Treadwell were further along in his development. Johnson is apparently experiencing a resurgence and he's a big receiver, but I have to believe LT the first rounder has more talent and will ultimately make Diggs more effective.

lol  Whatever you say. When a guy has 80 posts and 60 of them are trolling, I don't care who calls him what. And if it takes stooping to get there, I'm fine with it.

Full time WR but will play the slot when 3 WRs.

From another premium FF website, regarding speculation that Wright will be cut. Wright was playing the slot
Yes Diggs is a full time player but Wright and his fully guaranteed $7.5 million is not getting cut because he missed a few weeks with a hamstring issue.

Hmm...Diggs was dropped a few days ago and still hasn't been picked up. My interest is a little piqued as most here seem to like that they have Bradford now. Ironically, I drafted Treadwell and dropped him when another opportune dropped FA (Eifert) fell into my lap. I was planning on waiting it out on Forsett to see where he lands, but considering Im short on WR's I think I will just drop him to get Diggs.

From what Ive seen I thought Diggs is pretty versatile but surprised everyone here thinks Bradford gives him a bump because I didnt think Diggs would typically be the checkdown WR.

Picked up Diggs last year lat,e so of course had to watch the Vike's once in awhile.  Guy is really special.   He has it all.   Could be a few weeks of growing pains w/ new QB but he is just plain good.  Better than that.   Just watch.

How small are those rosters for both Eifert and Diggs to be on the waiver?

12 team, 16 rounds so Id say pretty standard apart from that there are 2 flexes.(1 flex is te/wr only). Eifert was drafted in the 8th round, owner dropped him  a couple days later I presume because he didn't know he will likely miss the first month+ (we do an offline draft), I picked him up for 4% of FAAB, so far Im only person who has used FAAB since the draft a week+ ago on anyone, I thought Eifert was worth it.

Diggs was taken in the 12th, dropped after Teddy went down. I like my WRs (Jeffery, Benjamin, Hurns) but I have no depth obviously so think I'll buy Stefon and hope for the best. IMO Id rather put some money on him than play WW flavor of the week soon.

I don't like your WRs and think the Diggs pickup for Forsett is a no brainer.

Stefon Diggs has seen the most action out of the slot in three-receiver sets for the Vikings.
With Jarius Wright missing most of the summer with a calf injury, he's fallen behind (and possibly out of favor) on offense. Diggs and Charles Johnson have been working as the two starters in base sets, with Adam Thielen entering in three-wide sets. When Thielen comes on, it's either been he or Diggs in the slot. It's worth noting Diggs lined up in the slot 60 percent of the time this preseason, and new QB Sam Bradford has long favored his slot receiver dating back to his days with the Rams (Danny Amendola) and Eagles (Jordan Matthews). Diggs is a solid WR3.
