Colts To Use WR Stokley More In '06?

Tom James, Indiana Tribune Star - [Full Article]

WR Brandon Stokley had a huge 2004 season but fell back to earth last season. The reason for the falloff however had nothing to do with Stokley. Instead, it was a result of the way opposing teams defensed the Colts offense, which meant that more passes went in the direction of the tight ends. Expect a change this season as the Colts are expected to make more use of the three-receiver offensive sets in 2006.

My take: We all remember just what Brandon Stokley was able to accomplish during the 2004 season (1,077 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns). He may never again post numbers that impressive but he still may represent tremendous value in fantasy leagues this season with the Colts moving back to 3-receiver sets. Definitely something to keep in mind during fantasy drafts.

3 Receiver + 1TE + 5 OL + Manning = Addai at RB.

Hope he's working on his blocking assignments

Why so?Not arguing so much as i hope you're right, I am an LSU homer...but I'd think

Rhodes would be more effective if they spread the field too...

I hate this info coming out...I would like for this to stay quite before my draft. His ADP is 20.01 right now!!

Never researched it but I always felt more Stokely=less Clark, Anyone know for sure?

If I have my stats correct, Indy TE recs only went up by two from 04-05, while TE total rec yds dropped by nearly 10 yds. Maybe the TEs had way more targes in 05 though, I don't know. Doesn't appear at first glance that they were used much more heavily, but they may have had TEs on the field more in 05, digging into Stokley's PT. It seems to me however, that Stokely's decrease in production from 04-05 was largely due to the overall decline in passing yards and TDs in that same time period (Yards dropped about 550 and TDs 20). If the passing game can make strides to post numbers even a decent chunk closer to what it did in 04, Stokely should be solid... if not, I think he's still the odd man out. Just my opinion.
