WR Terry McLaurin, WAS (3 Viewers)

This is why I said no new contract as many times as I could post. Terry was great for us the last few years. But you don't pay an age 30 WR that may or may not have already been injured during the negotiations. Yes, you can get hurt at any age in the NFL. Now we're stuck with his cap hit for 2 more years and he's retired or sitting someone else's bench after that.

Should have made him play the last contract, and tag him or let him walk. It was a huge mistake by Peters to give in. If you had a choice to sign him now, would you do it? 10 rec for 149 yds through what will be 5 games? I think not. Total fail by Peters.

I read he didn't practice today? How bad was this injury? They haven't given a lot of information about it...but we need Terry on the field!
Urgg, so glad I invested in Commanders early. Daniels and McLaurin have been huge disappointments, due to injuries and performance on the field.

Was definitely thinking he was on schedule to play, otherwise he should have been put on injured reserve
This is a very difficult injury for FF investors to manage and navigate with no information provided and no signal that this was going to be a month long injury

Half the season will be in the books after Sunday, Terry is one of the biggest bust in the first 3-4 rounds of redrafts

"Terry McLaurin is battling a hip flexor injury. It's called a quad, but it's more like a hip flexor. He was not at practice, and because he missed last week, it does not bode well for his status. You'd think, to have to be able to play in the game, he'd have to have a full practice. Has not even had a limited practice yet since his injury. Not looking good for the Monday nighter against the Bears, but obviously, we will see if he's at practice."

More like a hip flexor... or IT IS a hip flexor?

Daniels has looked pretty damn decent with essentially zero weapons. I mean, he's made Ertz fantasy relevant again. If he's healthy and up to speed I don't see how he isn't a top 24 WR each week.

That seems to be a pretty big IF. He doesn't appear to be any closer to being healthy than he was 4 weeks ago. He practiced a little last week. One day this week? Then are you going to trust to start him his first game back? Depending on roster size the possible payoff at the end is getting harder and harder to justify carrying him as dead weight on a roster. Would have been much better off had they put him on IR to begin with.

When there were early reports post-injury that he was seeking a second opinion, I though oh crap, this could be a while. But I didn't think we'd be asking why the team didn't put him on IR. So the team doesn't seem to know what's going on.

What's more, I'm not sure we really know what the injury is, and that's worrisome.

Looking back on it, the second opinion and the lack of detail were even bigger red flags than I was thinking at the time. If I wasn't a glass-half-full guy, I'd have been trying to shop him. Now that I've waited this long, I'm pot committed. Fingers crossed.

Well he and Deebo are officially back. I am excited to see how Terry does tomorrow night. Commanders are likely going to get abused so at least Terry should get his cardio level up for the following week.
