Well, that's it for re-draft I guess. I think this has to be an indication of where Kupp's hamstring is, or what he had in the tank when healthy. I'm not sure what more Horton could have brought to the table in the #3 role. Shaheed is a free agent, so while it's disappointing, I'm still confident in where this train is going for 2026 / dynasty. Would I have been more confident if they actually trusted Horton to run with the #2 job this year if Kupp is reeling? Yep. Doesn't mean he can't still try to make a case, but not what we were looking for.
Almost makes you wonder if there's a surprise Kupp to IR move incoming.
I don't understand this perspective. Does anyone think Kupp and Shaheed have played similar roles in their careers? Shaheed is a burner. He's the type of WR the Seahawks didn't have this season. They need a guy who can take the top off the defense and demand attention in that way. Without that kind of guy, a defense can focus on the intermediate part of the field and trust that any deep threat will be easily taken care of.
Shaheed will be a deep ball threat guy.
If anything, in all honesty, I think this helps JSN and Horton. It opens up the field.
Shaheed will be a boom-bust flex play ROS.
And I don't understand your perspective -
unless- the other shoe drops on Kupp. Dynasty, I'm unphased, other than yeah, an instant rookie impact would have been the bees knees, but I always viewed this as a '26 / dynasty play. The fact that he's making plays that got him into the '25 waiver wire conversation is very encouraging.
Otherwise, if Kupp comes back healthy and is on the same workload, Shaheed is just one more mouth to feed specializing in the downfield plays where our guy is doing so much of his damage. I hope Horton is now a consistent target hog that's going to do it in fantasy with yards and receptions. We haven't seen much of it yet, but he's capable based on CSU body of work. However, there's no reason to believe we'll now see it at any level that makes him fantasy relevant for 2025 unless Kupp is in much worse shape than has been revealed so far.
Great for Darnold. Great move for the Seahawks. A lot of the appeal for Horton '25 was the possibility of surpassing Kupp for the #2 and creating a formidable duo opposite JSN by the fantasy playoffs. It's now a trickier path to see myself plugging him into a flex spot with confidence. Might not see a greener light this season than this past Sunday.
