WR Tory Horton, SEA (2 Viewers)

Ugg he's still available in one league and I want to scoop him up, but I am not comfortable dropping one of my end of bench guys in Burden or Fannin. If McLaurin is in fact out this weekend I hope they announce it ASAP so I can IR him and scoop up Horton.

I could see him having a big night tonight.
I am trying to make a 2 for 1 trade all day today for the upgrade and the roster space.

Still available in my league. Drop Jamo or Mooney for him?
Hell no

Assuming re-draft, no on Jamo. If a safe flex option during bye weeks is the goal, no on Mooney.... but I'm open to the possibility that Horton has higher ceiling this year.

For me, he's a must-add if available in dynasty. If I'm in a dynasty league shallow enough that Mooney has no trade value, then I'm dropping him for Horton.

I didn't think I would have any plans for him in re-draft this year, but definitely taking advantage of the Thursday game with no bench locks. Dropped my kicker to see if anything happens, but fully expecting to toss him back into the FA pool at midnight.

Which league allows you to drop Thursday night players before the next week? I'm on yahoo and I'm pretty sure that they are locked until the next week after the game starts.

Some league settings let you drop players that weren't in your lineup. I remember yahoo doing this years ago. Haven't played a yahoo league in about 6-7 years though. Most leagues do lock players to a roster once the game has started so you can't drop a player.

Yahoo allows you to drop players after the game starts as long as they are on your bench. I do it all the time.
Don't forget, if Horton doesn't work out we get a bonus opportunity to mine pre-emptive waiver wire gold Saturday morning (Kaleb Johnson? Gainwell? Austin?) before taking our swings at the noon, 3pm, Sunday night, and Monday night slots.

For some reason in the 2 Yahoo leagues I commish, all the previous year's settings carryover EXCEPT it always defaults to allowing the dropping of benched players after their game.

I really like Horton's ceiling. He'll get plenty of snaps when he overtakes Kupp (maybe next season).
yeah, this is likely why Kupp was signed. His health hasnt been all that good. so he will start a few games and if he does get hurt, Horton will get a cup of coffee as a starter and we will see where he stands.

I dont think hes ready Yet, but hes the #3 so hes progressed rather quickly given where he has been drafted. we just need to be patient.

I dont think hes quite at that level.... not yet anyway. and if Penix continues to suck I could see Kirk Cousins return to starting at some point and that would be good for Mooney.

With NO London,Mooney had Cousins and was horrible. He ruined B Robinsons day as well.
The Hawks need Penix back n there ASAP..
Not if he is playing on one leg. Did you watch him last week? He was horrible.

Cooper Kupp trending to be out tonight for SNF. If you're desperate, there are worse plays. Commies will probably to double JSN. Horton could have a nice game.

At this point I may need to elevate him out of my dynasty practise squad. Very excited about having grabbed him and Crosskey-Merritt with 2 x 4th round rookie picks this year ( the only picks I had ). Landing on those types when you’ve used your earlier picks to upgrade your starting lineup can be a game changer.

As people have alluded to, hopefully by next season he’s full systems to as the legit threat opposite JSN

I don't think Bill will be anything special ever.
But Horton yes. Wish Kupp would go on IR for 4 weeks,so this kid can take the #2 wr role from him on his return.
Horton is the future. Let the kid play ros over Kupp.

Kupp looked pretty good as a coach last night on the sidelines.

Unfortunately, I think they probably end up suppressing one another's value. Seahawks are a top team in the hunt, they'll need Kupp's veteran presence on the field if healthy.

Going to be a lot of point chasing with Horton but buyer beware. The target count for each game this season: 0, 4, 4, 2, 4, 1, 3, 4. Not many yards either: 0, 32, 32, 10, 39, 0, 0, 48. The TDs are nice but he’s heavily TD dependent to return value in this offense. Could be real nice as the long-term WR2 for the Seahawks so he has some dynasty appeal. But I wouldn’t bother in redraft unless desperate in a deep league.

Hard to imagine much value this year. Deeper leagues he obviously has value. When all three are healthy Jaxon eats, Kupp continues short stuff and Horton is a TD dependent hit or miss gamble. If Jaxon goes down I think things could get interesting. My gut says they would lean more Kupp then Horton. Kupps health is always a concern. Imo

If FBG is projecting a week 11 return for Kupp, I think he's worth adding to a lot of re-draft leagues.

I was certainly hoping for more than 4 targets and something the Seahawks wouldn't be able to put back in the bag, but that was an impactful 4 targets and the Commanders weren't giving Seattle any reason to keep the ball in the air the 2nd half. I added him to both re-draft teams on the Kupp inactive news. I would like to keep him around until Kupp gets back and proves he's healthy and still the clear #2 option. While Kupp's hamstring is the most likely path, it's not the only path for Horton to be fantasy relevant this year.

Well, that's it for re-draft I guess. I think this has to be an indication of where Kupp's hamstring is, or what he had in the tank when healthy. I'm not sure what more Horton could have brought to the table in the #3 role. Shaheed is a free agent, so while it's disappointing, I'm still confident in where this train is going for 2026 / dynasty. Would I have been more confident if they actually trusted Horton to run with the #2 job this year if Kupp is reeling? Yep. Doesn't mean he can't still try to make a case, but not what we were looking for.

Almost makes you wonder if there's a surprise Kupp to IR move incoming.

Yeah taking him out of my waiver priorities. Bummer.

I don't understand this perspective. Does anyone think Kupp and Shaheed have played similar roles in their careers? Shaheed is a burner. He's the type of WR the Seahawks didn't have this season. They need a guy who can take the top off the defense and demand attention in that way. Without that kind of guy, a defense can focus on the intermediate part of the field and trust that any deep threat will be easily taken care of.

Shaheed will be a deep ball threat guy.

If anything, in all honesty, I think this helps JSN and Horton. It opens up the field.

Shaheed will be a boom-bust flex play ROS.

I'm thinking Kupp is a bit more hurt than they are telling us.
Horton has been good.
It will still take a week or 2 or 3 for Shaheed to get on same page as Darnold and to learn play book.

Really sucks they got Shaheed in trade

I was happy Abt starting Horton last week knowing he was the wr 2 in good offense

As they say in show business.
Break a leg Shaheed!

And I don't understand your perspective -unless- the other shoe drops on Kupp. Dynasty, I'm unphased, other than yeah, an instant rookie impact would have been the bees knees, but I always viewed this as a '26 / dynasty play. The fact that he's making plays that got him into the '25 waiver wire conversation is very encouraging.

Otherwise, if Kupp comes back healthy and is on the same workload, Shaheed is just one more mouth to feed specializing in the downfield plays where our guy is doing so much of his damage. I hope Horton is now a consistent target hog that's going to do it in fantasy with yards and receptions. We haven't seen much of it yet, but he's capable based on CSU body of work. However, there's no reason to believe we'll now see it at any level that makes him fantasy relevant for 2025 unless Kupp is in much worse shape than has been revealed so far.

Great for Darnold. Great move for the Seahawks. A lot of the appeal for Horton '25 was the possibility of surpassing Kupp for the #2 and creating a formidable duo opposite JSN by the fantasy playoffs. It's now a trickier path to see myself plugging him into a flex spot with confidence. Might not see a greener light this season than this past Sunday.

If Kupp is out, I actually like Horton as a spot start for a week or 2 more. They draw up plays to get him open for TDs with JSN hogging all the coverage. The ceiling isn't high but the TD probability is.

I mean kinda right? I was actually surprised that in a game without Kupp his usage really didnt change. Feels like they have a plan to maybe draw up 4 plays a game for him and thats it. Prolly why they added Shaheed.

Pretty sure Kupp is more hurt than we know. My uneducated guess is they hold him out for the playoffs and see what they have in the rookie.
