WR Tyler Lockett, LV (6 Viewers)

Not sure how I feel about a potential add working out, now that the 'skins have acquired Deebo, but boy, with his wily veteran savvy, he'd make for a fine possession target for Jayden Daniels. 'Skins are far from completing their WR room makeover, so there will be additional (hopefully 'value' additions). Maybe I'm overthinking it, but something seems a little off with a McLaurin/Deebo/Lockett trio, even though I like all 3 players individually quite a bit.

He's been a value cog for plenty of my FF teams over the years, for sure. Hope he lands up in an optimal place to twilight his career, and has the opportunity to bow out gracefully, maybe even with a ring.

Oh good, signing old receivers has worked so well for the titans in the past.

At least it’s cheap.
I forgot Lockett was still out there. I think after this weekend, we'll see the rest of the old guard (Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper, etc.) land somewhere as depth pieces.

Goose egg
Didn't move around as practiced, solely in slot.
Dike replace him for nine snaps
He's always been a super sub, a sixth man of the year type but in football. Yesterday was the first time in his career he had more than a 50 percent snap share (per Jacob Gibbs)

He's gotta do far better to erase that writing on the wall. He consistently seems like a great guy but old WRs that put up goose eggs don't last in this league.

New Tennessee Titan WR Tyler Lockett played 96% of his routes from the slot in Week 1.

Lockett has never registered a snap rate above 50% over the course of a season.

what
A snap rate is the percent of a teams snaps the player was in for.
The slot is the most interior of the WR positions
right. hard to tell what that tweet meant. sounds like he's never played the slot over 50%, which is different than he's never played over 50% of snaps.

Yeah, I find that stat hard to believe otherwise

It was time. I just said the other day why is he even on the team.
He was down to like 14 snaps and Dike got reps over him and didn't do well. Yesterday Dike had two drives he did well and then nothing the rest of the game. Rest of season pffff like 15 catches for 30 yards.
Lockett gets like 15 yards per game.
Huge outcries on the radio to use the darn middle of the field and they started to a couple weeks back. That's where Lockett works and that had to be upsetting.

People rave about Tyler the person and he came to Nashville to return home so I'm sure this was hard for him.

He's not cat quick anymore. He lost that patented catch n turn upfield smooth as silk move he does. I think he may be done.

Steelers need to sign him cheap and get him with DK. See what his BFF can do. Maybe just maybe they can get those old legs to bring a few more highlights. His reputation is stellar. There's no risk

Lockett is pretty much at the end, but he can still be a useful depth piece on a good offense at the very least.

I wonder if a team like the Steelers would have interest in him? Pair him up with DK again? Maybe Washington with all their injuries? Giants as a reliable vet for Dart?

Veteran WR Tyler Lockett is signing with the #Raiders today, per sources.

It’s a reunion for Lockett and Geno Smith, who connected plenty in Seattle and now are teaming up again under Pete Carroll in Las Vegas.

Classic case of someone that is finished but doesn't know it yet.
Lockett helped Russell cook in Seattle. He was a great return guy in college and early in his NFL career. His speed got him open, but he also had good hands and WR skills, many sideline and corner of the endzone TDs. He had lots of clutch catches. Likely lost a few steps at age 33, and only 5'10". Every TD as a Seahawk:

"Tyler Lockett vs. both rookie WRs for the WR2 spot, but both have been real bad on tape. Never good when a released WR immediately plays ahead of them."

Have you seen Lockett's tape recently, Hayden? And excuse me if I don't trust NepoPete Carroll to make an unbiased call here about who should be getting playing time during the back nine of another lost Raiders season. Not to mention the fact that Pete drafted these rookies!!! SMDH

The more I think about this, why isn't this a great play this week?

Dallas defense is awful. Currently giving up the 2nd most points to WRs in fantasy.

Raiders offense lacks a true WR1 for targets. Bowers is going to get his but outside of that, they have nothing. Tucker is a guy I think can do something but that's more because there's nothing else.

Geno and Lockett worked together as recently as last year. There's a connection there. As shown by Tyler jumping in on a short week and getting 6 targets and going 5-44 with them.

The 3 years together in Seattle, they had 313 targets for 212-2527-16.

Geno needed a security blanket in Vegas and he just found his old buddy last week who he went to frequently.

I think with Slayton out, I'm going Locket now on MNF.

Don't know if it's saying much, but led them in targets and receiving yards.
Their offense has Geno throwing a zillion short passes. Once the CBs are asleep with their pajamas on, then he'll throw for some yards. (This doesn't apply to the TE) It's really boring and seems unimaginative.
It reminds me of Larry Centers and Kendall Wright getting 100 catches on some of the worst offenses.
I think it hurts the run game also.

But...if Lockett is going to be able to do this at an old 33 years old, then he's definitely got some value. I don't know that he can get fifty yards but 7 catches for 35?

It's kinda tough luck sometimes to think about but that's a fine bye week filler.

But he's not the same. Geno isn't either.
Lockett was so so slick to catch n turn up field in his younger days. I swear he could turn 180 degrees and not stop running. He rarely showed it in TEN and eventually it occured to me, OMG this guy did it like every other play in Seattle.
At this "advanced age" he gets hurt easily and often. Also IIRC in Seattle, he was an odd bird that only played third downs on many drives. I think his lack of size/blocking and injuries forced that switch to preserve him. The Raiders and Titans are playing him more snaps.
The predictable (do something else! anything!) short passes don't help him to surprise and break one.
I have big doubts he can stay healthy. Big doubts he'll ever get a lot of yards again. But it's sure nice to see him get some added time to his career.

He uses something that was called a hyperbaric chamber but for his leg. It's a pretty big looking device and I was very impressed with the concept and the pros pro taking care of his bod.

Not looking rest of the year. And there had to be some boredom and disinterest setting in for Lockett in Tenn this year. He goes to Vegas and instantly 5 catches with his old QB.

1 week play. I'd be smashing him in DFS if I played.

Absolutely
Definitely worth a try for DFS. Good suggestion

Scooped him up in a few places and starting him. Dallas did get some guys on D in trade so maybe they won't suck as bad but I am rolling the dice in a few leagues.

Seems awfully darn risky to me
It's that time of year for a lot of teams. Can't afford any more losses and need to swing big due to injuries.
He hasn’t been any good for a couple of years. Hasn’t that ship sunk already? His expiration date has expired. He’s just a former name.

Who has played one game with his old QB and his old coach. In that one game he led the team in targets, yards and receptions. That team has absolutely nobody in the wr room. Arguably any other team we aren't having this conversation. Add in his bromance with QB and coach and you have my interest.

No less risky. He’s why they keep the lights low in bars, but is more appealing at closing time.
