WR Tyreek Hill, MIA (5 Viewers)

Once again. Just a super fun guy to watch play the game of football. He could have had two tds. Wiiiiide open on that Waddle td and a much easier throw. I find myself simply watching him everytime the Dolphins snap the football. Imagine lining up against him?
Ha. I saw that too because I was playing against Waddle and was wondering why Tua didn’t recognize that gimme pass to Tyreek screaming across the goal line uncovered, other than to make my opponent dunk on me.

This could be a big deal:

Tyreek's ailment is hip. Not seen today in locker room. Didn't practice. Tua said we will see Hill again "down the line"..McDaniel speaks before practice, so this didn't come up today. Mostert (ankle), Rob Jones (personal), Holland (concussion), Ingold (foot) also didn't practice
I cursed him. I was hoping he went out with cramps last week but he didn't and ended up being a reason why I lost. When did Mostert hurt his ankle?

I was initially a little skeptical, just because those quotes always end up getting taken out of context to sound way more significant than they are. But Rapaport is saying there's a real chance he misses this week

Fwiw I heard Tua’s whole quote and nothing seemed taking out of context.

When I hear “down the line” I’m a lot more worried then about next week.

Bye is week 10.

Very light details so far but at this point I’d consider if good news if he’s playing before week 11.

Whew. If rapport is saying that Hill is for sure playing this week.

Also, I wonder sometimes how much does Tua really know about another player's medical status? He probably knows he is dealing with something and his status is in doubt. Coaches and Hill himself might not really know the timeline on this.

Was sad hearing this as it’s fun to watch him play for his own talent and joy. Based on his size, one of the more incredible nfl players I’ve ever seen. I hope he gets to make a run at 2K

He is really a football player, F 150 soul in a Porsche body.

I had the same thought. Didn't Waddle explicitly say it was above his pay grade?

Anyway, I get why people are having strong reactions, but ultimately not much we can do; even for fantasy, I don't think there are any transactions I would make as a result of this news. We'll presumably learn more in the coming days.

Good thing his game is focused on route running and sure hands and not speed.

He's top-notch with both other things. He had three drops last year, which Player Profiler rates as second-best in the league. His route-running is just fine and dandy.

But you know that. You're just being dryly humorous.

eta* edited for clarity

Ya. It works with him because he is literally the fastest and quickest guy on the planet. Dudes just the best player in football. Let's hope this is all talk and he plays.

I’m grabbing ced Wilson for free where I can. Worth the last bench spot. He’s not hill, who is? But liked the way he looked on a couple of plays

I thought the same thing. Then I noticed he was available. So was Berrios. Then I saw Claypool. I decided who knows how this would unfold if Hill is out and passes on all options.

What % of studs will play 17 games?

The season was long enough before, and now they're tacking on extra playoff teams and seventeen games to boot. The game is played by players that are already stretching boundaries with how big and fast they are.

Car wrecks all over the place on the playing field. Too much for the human body.

This isn't surprising at all.

Long-time 8 team superflex league, 25 roster spots, 13 starters. We have 5 IR spots per team right now. Many teams are at their limits already and have brought a proposal to the league to up that to at least 6 next season.

Wow. I've been embarrassed to admit we went to 2 IR spots for COVID and have just left it. Ha ha....5?

:bag: (me)

Granted this league is pretty unconventional, for a non-IDP league.

Only a matter of time until 18 games with two byes which I think actually will help. Players resting one week before a bye giving them 3 weeks potentially a couple times and 16 games played.

Cedrick Wilson certainly played himself into that contract when he played for Dallas that last year. I can't think of why he's gotten appreciably worse in the interim. He's worth a shot.
Yeah, if you have the roster spot to burn, may be worth a flier. But I definitely wouldn't drop anyone of value for him, especially since we still don't really have any idea of the extent of Tyreek's injury.

This makes me feel better. We went to 3 during the Pandemic and also left it. It does allow for more flexibility.

I’m probably just high on copium, but I’d love to find out that this is McD giving hoodie a taste of his own medicine by messing with the injury report. Would inhibit the time tested strategy of game planning around the biggest threat.

Putting it out into the universe.

Hill was held out of Wednesday's practice with a hip injury, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Spin: Hill briefly went to the blue medical tent during Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Eagles, but he returned to the field in short order en route to finishing with an 11-88-1 receiving line on 15 targets. The Dolphins have been cautious with veterans at Wednesday practices this season, so Thursday's injury report should provide a better clue as to whether Hill is actually in danger of missing Sunday's matchup with the Patriots.

I had this same thought actually

May also be good hopium but let’s hope!

Here is where we wait for practice report. All the end of the world talk has been rough. Praying for even a started as a light practice then called it quits. That means he at least had the notion he could go. Let's go Tyreek!!!

Until they get hurt a few games before one of the two byes and the coaches rest him thru the bye.

After McDaniel really downplayed Achane’s injury before he went on IR, not sure I would trust what he says. Seems to be engaging in the fine art of subterfuge about injuries.

He really wants the 2000 yards so anything short of amputation, he will be out there
He does but he can take a week off and still be on pace. Take two weeks off, use the bye to get 3 full weeks of rest/healing and still be within a 70 yard pace.
I hate that u make sense here.
I'll leave you some positivity.

Tyreek apparently said on his weekly podcast his body feels good and he's excited about this weekend. As someone pointed out he taped that podcast earlier in the week, probably Monday, so does not exclude something happening between then and practice on Wednesday but still encouraging.
