I have the #2 pick in the draft tomorrow in a CBS 10 team h2h points league. I figure Ramirez will go #1 which leaves me with the decision between Reyes and Wright. I am not going to pick Pujols so he is not an option here. It is strictly between Reyes and Wright. In the CBS scoring system they are projected with 5 pts of one another and last year Wright scored 3 more pts than Reyes so the difference is history and production is negligible. Both positions are shallow so what is the opinion of the forum on who to pick? I know for a fact Longoria will be gone before my 2nd rd pick and I believe Rollins will be too so hoping to pick Wright and get Rollins or Reyes and get Longoria is probably not going to happen. With that being so and the scoring system being pretty standard for pts except strikeouts are -.5 and CS are -1 and walks are +1, what is the right pick here? I know I probably can't go wrong either way but am just looking for a healthy array of opinions to help me make my important choice. Thanks.

Curious as to why this is, he's the best player in (fantasy) baseball.
Because I don't want to pick him.
Super. This attitude should get you far in fantasy sports. If you are a Mets homer, just man up and said it. The correct answer is Pujols, but the answer you are looking for is Reyes. The depth may be "down" at 3rd, but there are plenty of options for a 10-team points league. Lock up the sure points at SS and move on. Playing positional scarcity with the 2nd overall pick in a 10-team league is pretty silly though.

Well, I am a Red Sox homer so your wrong on that front. Pujols is great, no doubt but in the CBS scoring system he only outscored Wright and Reyes by 13 and 16 points. I would rather take the position scarcity of 3B and SS over 13 points throughout the season. And it is entirely possible Wright and Reyes can outscore Pujols this year. So with that being, I would much rather have Reyes or Wright and then draft Berkman or Morneau in the 3rd round than end up with Pujols and then having no option of a top 3b or ss which I won't at the end of the 2nd rd.

ya he did outscore them and had far less than 100 fewer at bats. Think about it. Imagine what he would do with 100 more at bats.

Tough decision but I'd go with Wright as I have him the top rated 3b and Reyes the 2nd rated SS. Really after the first 4 or 5 at both positions the talent drops off. I'd rather have the top rated 3B and wait on a SS, maybe Furcal will be there later. I still like JJ Hardy this year as he should be a top 10 SS. There's probably deeper talent at the 3rd base position to choose from should you decide to take Reyes. Your chances of hitting on a better 3B than SS are better if you took Reyes first. I still like Wright though and would take my chances on getting Furcal, Peralta,Hardy, even Jeter. My top 5 third base are Wright,A-Rod,A.Ramirez,E.Longoria and Chipper Jones. My top 5 SS are Ramirez,Reyes,Rollins,A.Ramirez and Furcal.
