C'mon... Curtis is gonna be a STUD! He was on pace for a Top 10 performance before Bulger went down...

Better skyrocket him up your charts boys...

Rams | Bruce lands three-year deal to return

Fri, 10 Mar 2006 08:38:56 -0800

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the St. Louis Rams have reached a new, three-year deal worth $15 million with WR Isaac Bruce. The contract is expected to be finalized as early as Friday, March 10. Bruce will be paid $6 million for the 2006 season. His previous contract, which he was released from, would have paid him $8.1 million in 2006.
Things change when you draft in Jan. :D

They don't change too much in my mind. Bruce is a terrific possesion receiver and has the upside of being a good WR1. Curtis is nothing more than a slot guy imo. Sure, Curtis has upside in this offense but he would never quite develop into a legitimate WR2. Bruce is going to be an incredible WR3 for my WSL team.

QUOTE

One of the NFL's most effective third-down tailbacks, and likely to get more overall "touches" in the Martz-designed offense, Bryson reached agreement on a new three-year contract worth $4.5 million. The deal includes a $1.5 million signing bonus.

QUOTE

His role almost certainly will not change in 2006 but his playing time could actually be expanded.

Makes sense to me - Bryson's receiving skills get him on the field more in Martz'z wide open offense...

Nice news for my last pick.

Chester Taylor is now a Viking.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2364242

Don't really know how to gauge what this does to his value. I thought it was nearlya lock the Ravens would shop JLewis and Taylor would start for them.

If Taylor becomes the Vikes feature back, he obviously gets a huge hike in value. If he becomes part of the RBBC crap that always goes on in Minny ...

Yah, he's just going to be RBBC. He's going to have some solid night's but unless other players get injured and he becomes the starter alone, he's a risky start. He's got tons of talent but the potential he had from being the starting back for Baltimore, a historically rushing team to the RB mess in Minnesota is disappointing.

Abrecher -  04.04 WR Chris Chambers  ,  Miami Dolphins

Abrecher -  08.04 WR Donte Stallworth  ,  New Orleans Saints
Looking much better than I expected at this point.
How has Chambers value changed?
Finally has a real QB throwing to him, even if it's only for the half the year.Assuming the trade is final, of course.
That was my point. It's going to be really interesting seeing when and if Culpepper plays next year.

Agreed. My guess is that Saban will put him on the PUP list so that Culpepper won't be tempted to rush his rehab. I just hope Mularkey will keep him in the pocket and not send him out on the kind of plays he used to draw up for Kordell.

Who will be their QB until CPepp is off the PUP?

Dunno, but you gotta assume that Saban won't go into week 1 with Cleo Lemon as their only option. :X

Looking like the crap of my Boller pick is going to be balanced out by Kitna (knock on wood) starting in Detroit. I hope that Boller can hold on long enough for CPalmer to get back.

who signed in Balt?I heard that Griese was visiting and everyone assumes that Collins could end up there too.

best case for Boller owners is Collins back in Oakland.

No one has signed, but I just don't have a great feeling at this point that he's going to be starting for 16 games.

Some poss ggod news for Team Family Matters regarding QB2 Collins. I did did not copy the whole article, it's here: http://www.insidebayarea.com/sports/ci_3514884:

Shell hints at staying with Collins "All I can say is Kerry Collins has been an outstanding quarterback," Shell said at his introductory press conference last Saturday. "Matter of fact I just spoke to Kerry before I came down here. He is excited about moving forward next year. He is an exciting quarterback. I think he has a chance to be great for us. But those issues will be addressed down the road."

If Shell's already getting on the phone with the guy and talking him up, this sure sounds like a coach counting on Collins to be his QB in 2006. In fact, quite frankly, the Raiders have done nothing to suggest they aren't still completely in love with Collins, as revolting a thought as that might be to 97.9 percent of the fans out there.

Remember Al Davis' comments the day Norv Turner was fired? "I think Kerry did adequately well considering other factors maybe not seen by the press or fans," Davis said. "He had no running game, and our pass protection slipped."

We'll soon find out how serious the love affair is. Collins is due a $2.5 million roster bonus in March, and if the Raiders pay it, it stands to reason they're probably keeping him. He's supposed to make $6 million in base salary as well, and with easily attainable incentives, he'll have an ungodly cap figure of nearly $13 million.

That will have to be renegotiated, of course, or the issue will be resolved for OaklaIt's more likely that they'll rework the contract. Davis intimated in early January that Collins' Raiders future could well be determined by what was available on the free-agent market and in trade. But right now, the landscape is grim.
Maybe the landscape for a winning QB being available were grim, but at least da Raiders and I have a good Fantasy QB! :boxing:

What a cluster#### it's been since my draft. Ricky most likely gets suspended. I thought Jamal would be the unquestioned starter...now there's Anderson lurking if Jamal struggles. Favre is still screwing around and now I'm not as confidant that he'll be back, decreasing Driver's value somewhat. On the plus side, he may be WR1 as Walker may not be back. I thought I would have at least a starter between McCown and Harrington. Now that's looking iffy. McCardell takes a hit with Rivers junking it up. Arizona gets a legit RB (OL still iffy) that may give them more TDs instead of FGs.

Add to all that and the byes seem to have really crippled me in Week 6....losing probably my only QB in Manning...and losing 3 of my WRs in Driver, Branch and TTaylor. And I don't even get the benefit of having 2 Ks or Ds that week as I lose one of each.

I really liked my team out of the gate.

Now..... :ptts:

Here are my issues:

At this point I have no QB2 so an early bye for Big Ben might be useful.

Week 5 WR's and RB1 are a concern but again it's early so maybe I'm ok.

Week 7 I have both D's, RB2 & WR2 so that might be the wost of all of them.

Why do I do these early drafts again? :wall:

I'm way overloaded with Panthers and Jaguars.

I'll be lucky to survive week 6 (missing QB3, WR3, WR4, WR7, TE2, DEF1) or week 9 (missing QB1, RB2, WR1, WR2, WR5, WR6).

Can't belive my 7 WRs have 2 bye weeks. I planned on Edwards/Northcutt, but not Gaffney/Lewis and certainly couldn't have predicted Fitz/Keyshawn sharing a bye week.

My RB and backup QB situations are looking awful. At least the Texans don't seem to be as bad as I thought they would be.

slim chance of me going the distance

Another RB upgrade. What's going on? This stuff just doesn't happen. Also, I think Addai ended up in a great situation after I drafted him before the NFL draft. Another positive is that Henry survived a cut, which was in question earlier this year. Now this team looks much better than before. 2 QB's, good RB depth and ok WR depth as well.

IMHO-Lelie isn't really a factor. Maybe somewhat but not a big deal. As for Davenport, I drafted Gado/Davenport hoping 1 would be the RB2. I think I'm good there. Adn in fact Devenport may yet end up somewhere. If so then maybe it's an improvement though I'm not expecting that to happen. After all, Green isn' exactly the picture of health these days so Gado may see some significant time as the season plays out and if my team is still around I could benefit in that regard.
