so if i only drink water all day everyday im not allowed to flavor it on occasion?
eta: it also awesome to use in vodka or rum
I really don't care what others drink. It's really just the marketing of this sort of thing I find a little off-putting. Not so much the Mio, but this Aqua Ball stuff for kids.
They've apparently solved the incredibly confusing dilemma of how to hydrate children.
What makes you think it's about hydration? People don't think in those terms. People think "I'm a little thirsty, I think I'd like to enjoy a tasty beverage", not "I am slowly dehydrating and if I do not get some pure water into my body I could die". There's no confusion about how to hydrate, there is merely a desire to drink something that tastes good if it's available. Nobody is ending up in the hospital from dehydration because they couldn't figure out water.
For the Aqua Ball, "healthy hydration for kids" is pretty much their entire marketing campaign.

I'm sure the idea is that at least it's not soda or sugar filled juice. While true, I guess, it's still promoting the idea that we need added sweetness to help us stomach the only substance we were definitely designed to drink.
Maybe better than the alternatives*, but it still gives an "Idiocracy" vibe.
*Once again, you know, assuming water isn't one of the alternatives.
Well, yeah. It's just marketing. I think you're making a leap though. I'm with you that their idea is to say "hey, it's not soda or sugar filled juice" - that's the message, certainly. But the leap you're making is to say that "hey, it's not soda or sugar filled juice" is
also saying "you need this because water sucks". They're not making a statement about water, they're only making a statement about their product. "Healthy Hydration for Kids". Not "The Only Healthy Hydration for Kids", you know?
I see where you're coming from, and I don't buy that stuff for my own kids [very often], but I don't think they're going as far as you might think they are.
