WW pickups from week 6. Aka WW pickups for week 7 (2 Viewers)

The kind of breakouts that end up on the waiver wire these days are typically a lot less impactful than the 1995 Terrell Davises, the 1999 (?) Priest Holmes, or 1999 Kurt Warners.

Just last year, Kamara.  Alex Collins, Kenyan Drake and Jamal Williams all were top 15, maybe even top 12 options over the second half of the season last year.

And when did you all draft, out of curiosity? There was a flip of the switch when Le'veon Bell's perceived risk of missing Week One seemed to suddenly skyrocket, but I'm wondering if that was after most drafts were done?

 
We had our draft on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend (when everybody still "knew" that "LeVeon's reporting this week...").  Draft results were entered Sunday night, players locked to waivers, and processed on Tuesday--that's when Connor went off the board.

Even in we're ignoring the weekly streamers, Lindsay has been a great ww pickup. In ppr leagues he's in the top 15. If he hadn't been ejected from that one game he'd be flirting with the top 10.

Kamara is a good example from last year. I forget him because I play in Saints' homer leagues and he was drafted even in shallow-bench redrafts :shrug:

Collins and Drake seemed up-and-down ... but if people were able to start them during their good weeks (as opposed to chasing points), more power to 'em. Jamal Williams was helping teams last season? I missed the boat on him completely though I did seem him evaluated as a legit redraft RB2 going into this season.

These were not set it and forget it guys per se, but 13- 15 PPR points a game type guys.  In today's fractured RB2 landscape, that makes them borderline RB1s.

How would you guys rank these?  I got:

1) C. Kirk (looking like #1 WR on a team where the real WR1 isn't getting it done and typically playing from behind)

2) T. Gabriel  (2 strong weeks in a row but solid run first team with good defense)

3)  A. Wilson (best year of the bunch so far but brutal schedule upcoming)

4)  C. Beasley (seemed to come out of nowhere but tide could be turning in Dallas)

Key part of your post is "second half".   After the first six weeks of 2017, even Kamara didn't look like a truly impactful player yet.  It's the second half of fantasy seasons where the WW pickups can shine.

 
I am dropping Enunwa to pick up a QB for my bye, but I also see Crabtree, Rogers, and Wilson on my wire.  WR is also my weakest position...but I just don't know if I can bring myself to drop the guys I would need to grab one (Coutee, Reed, Shepard).

Indy desperately needs a running game and he was ripping off yardage. Nobody else really touched the ball on first and second down and he did have a couple targets.

High powered offense and that defense needs to keep the other offenses off the field.

 
With WR Rod Streater on injured reserve, going to bump up the Rat Fink a bit. Browns only current WRs are Landry, Callaway, Breshad Perriman (just signed last week), and Ratley.

I agree.  Plus the later the year goes, the more injuries pile up, so more chances for a dark horse to emerge.  In 2015 I got David Johnson off the waiver wire quite late - maybe week 11 or 12 or something (we do have a short bench) - won me a title.

It's too early to make judgments on this.  Plus so far this year seems lighter than average in terms of injuries, and hopefully that continues for everyone's sake.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien does not expect D'Onta Foreman (Achilles', PUP) to be activated this week.
"I don't think he's quite ready," O'Brien added. Houston originally expected Foreman to be ready Week 1, and now he is not even healthy enough to play six weeks into the season. Coming back from a tough injury for running backs, Foreman is just a weak bench stash in deeper leagues. Oct 15 - 12:55 PM

Wonder what happened I'm guessing some kind of setback. It was only about a week ago O'Brien said Foreman was on track and now he's not quite ready.

 
 
Raheem Mostert done took Alfred Morris' job. Probably going to get 8-12 carries and a few receptions, might be FLEX-worthy.

I remember Mostert being mentioned as a SPARQ freak on here about 3 years back, think he was hidden on the depth chart at the Ravens 

i like Taylor Gabriel as a pickup this week. Looks like he’s earned himself a good portion of the Bears improving offence and he can be electric and produce big plays. Him and Tyreek helped me win a Championship in 16 with an injury riddled roster, both were great WW pickups in the 2nd half of the season

Probably draft in most leagues, but I think Tarik Cohen has that second half monster look to him. 

 
Goodwin is gonna be my top pickup in one league where Im desperate for WR. I will probably blow the rest of my money on him. Should be a solid WR3.

hey I'm not so sure about that. there has been plenty of value 

Kerryon Johnson, GOLLADAY, Tyler Boyd, John Brown, maybe Goodwin, Mostert, Ito Smith, Winston ( for those who didn't draft him), Chester Rogers, Calvin Ridley, etc..

I'd say many more WR's than RBs, but there has been good value out there..

The two Lions were mid round picks in both my leagues. So was Ridley and Goodwin but Goodwin is likely on waivers now so I'll allow it!

 
Engram, OJ Howard and Hooper are sitting on my WW. Presumably people would order them exactly as I've listed in a non ppr ? Reed owner but getting a little antsy with the lack of production so looking for an alternative until things change with him

If somebody dropped Brees for the Bye, should I pick him up?  Concerned the Saints will be all run all the time.  Especially now that he got that record, no need to keep chucking it.  And he's kind of short for a modern QB.  And the Saints D is coming around, so even less reason to pass.

OK, I talked myself out of it - this guy is DONE.

The fact that he is not ready after spending the first six weeks on IR speaks volumes about his status. I would bet on him making a big impact this season.

 
What QBs are people going for to cover byes this week?  Looking at Winston, Mayfield, or Ryan right now.

I don’t know the size of your league, but I’m assuming those QBs are rostered in a majority of leagues already.

tough call on those 3.  Stafford safest.  Mayfield a bit more boom/bust.  Trubisky the most boom/bust.

 
Wondering how to value guys like:

Mack vs previous WW pickups (Lindsay, Clement/Smallwood)

Njoku and other flavor of the week TEs like Uzomah vs WW or drafted TEs (Rudolph, Hooper, Howard)

Guys back on the upswing like Goodwin or steady eddies like Kirk or Wilson/Grant in PPR/return leagues (both have more FF points than Golladay in my league!!!) or guys who are coming on like Gabriel or Tyrell Williams vs drafted guys who were projected to be studs but are outright duds (Cooper, Cobb, etc.)

I started that thread a few years ago. Can’t find it anymore with the search function. Maybe it was archived or something. 

Mostert has always had a lot of juice. He’s fast and pretty agile with great burst. The problem is he’s skinny, and you could see a few times last night how he went down on first contact.

All that said, the zone system is designed to create lanes, and Mostert hit them incredibly fast last night. Maybe the 49ers figured out the speed elements in their backfield (Breida and Mostert) mesh with their line better than Morris. 

Breida has been dinged up quite a bit already, and Mostert appears next in line. Could probably do worse with a bench stash if you need a RB.

Small benches and only start 1 QB.  Majority of teams only grab their starter, very few roster more than 1 QB each week.  These guys are on the WW now for me - I know most leagues would already see them rostered.  I was pleasantly surprised to see Ryan still out there.  I knew Winston would be as many don't tend to jump or stream QBs.  They lock into one and try to build around him with WRs and RBs.  Those are sparse on my WW, but QBs somewhat plentiful for bye week rotations.

???  GODwin, maybe.  GOODwin (for where he was drafted), no.

My preference for this week would be Ryan, Winston, and then Mayfield. It’s close between Ryan & Winston. 

 
Searching the WW for a RB in PPR. Need a bye week filler but ideally someone I can keep ROS as my 3rd RB. Currently got them ordered as follows 

Mack, Ekeler, Ito Smith, Barber, Smallwood. 

My sense is that Mack and Smith have the most upside while Ekeler will offer consistency.
