Trying to move S Rice to the IR, but yahoo is not giving me the option

If he doesn't have an "IR" by his name in Yahoo, you can't put him on IR.A player put on IR is out for the year. That's different than the PUP.

Yes, but it only means he is ineligible to play the first 6 weeks of the season, whereas IR means he is out for the entire year.

That is not true. If a player is listed as "Out" you can put him in IR. I just placed Stafford on IR. It is a little confusing how you have to go about putting a player on IR. When you are on your team page there is a link at the top that says "Manage IR." If you go there you should be able to put Rice on the IR.

Not on Yahoo. Or at least, not the way my Yahoo league is set up.

What site are you using? My Yahoo league will only let you use an IR slot if the NFL team has put that player on IR. You don't get to determine IR yourself. Stafford might come back, depending on what the docs say about his shoulder. If the Lions placed him on IR he would be required to sit out the entire season according to the rules.

What is the point of keeping a player in a yahoo league that is on the IR? I didn't think they did dynasty leagues, so why would you keep a player that is on IR in a redraft?

Yahoo does have keeper league settings. Players have a "K" next to their name.I suppose you could do a Dynasty too, setting it to offline draft and entering everyone as a keeper.

Why can't I moved Jahvid Best to IR spots? I see news reports saying that Lions put him on IR on Nov 2... others say that they put him back on PUP. either way, he is out for the year but I don't want him wasting an active player spot in my dynasty league. thanks

Thanks Gekko. Interested in understanding topic further. Why would Best not be on the 53 person active roster? He's not a free agent so has to be associated with the team somehow. Why would the Lions choose not to designate him as IR? If he is technically PUP, what would incent a team to do that instead of IR given he's done for the year either way?
